XCEL
Ed D'Ascoli founded XCEL in 1982, working from the bedroom of his Sunset Beach
house. D'Ascoli found no shortage of inspiration from the world-class performances on
display at his doorstep; and the opportunity to create and to connect high-performance
products with the athletes who demanded them was irresistible. XCEL's passionate focus
on product development would become the defining characteristic of the brand.
O'Neill
O'Neill wetsuits is (one of) the oldest wetsuit company out there. It started as a surf shop
opened by Jack O'Neill in the 1950s. From that first surf shop in a garage across the
Great Highway in San Francisco O'Neill and O'Neill wetsuits evolved into one of the top
brands in the market. Today O'Neill is no longer just a surf shop or a wetsuit
manufacturer, their range of products is much wider and includes wetsuits, surfboards,
boardbags, swimsuits, clothing, shoes and more... But one eyed Jack O'Neill still stands
behind and represents his family businesses
Rip Curl
Rip Curl is a company for, and about, the Crew on The Search. The products we make, the
events we run, the riders we support and the people we reach globally are all part of the Search
that Rip Curl is on.
We've been the market leaders in surfing wetsuits for over 30 years, and our Elastomax
and SlickSkin technologies have set the standard for wetsuits of the future. Rip Curl will
continue to stick by the grass roots that helped make us the market leader in surfing, but
we'll also charge on in to the future and push riding to a new level.
Hyperflex
Hyperflex offers the largest range of affordable wetsuits and accessories in the industry.
We maintain a huge inventory that we can deliver to our dealers fast and efficiently
usually overnight if requested.
SURFBOARDS:
Vernor
From beginner to professional, Vernor Surfboards has a wide range of boards to choose
from. The key mission for Vernor surfboards is growing with the surfer as they progress
through the various stages of their surfing.
Channel Islands
Since 1969, Channel Islands Surfboards has been dedicated to performance and quality
through hard work, innovation, and originality. Over the last 38 years, Channel Islands
has grown from a local grass-roots operation to a cutting edge organization, catering to
the best surfers in the world. It started with hard-core surfing and quality in mind and
these guidelines have brought us through three decades of constant change in the surf
industry. Channel Islands will shape the new millennium with innovative design and
quality as our main focus.
Noe
For the past 10 years I've been learning and having fun shaping myself boards that I have
taken around the world, speaking different languages and surfing ridiculously good
waves. I've spent countless hours around very talented craftsmen, honing my shaping
skills and gaining knowledge from the very best. I have gained knowledge from and
worked with the biggest names in the Santa Cruz surf industry.
Bluecoil
At Bluecoil, our journey began with the idea that the wave, the board and the session can
be optimized with design through shaping innovation and customized manufacturing with
advanced materials. We are creating a very different surf company around the notion that your next board is a
vision of doing something better. From here, a new way of seeking shapes for the wave is
charting our course.
Jamie Murray
Surfboards are sexy--in shape and design, as works of functional art, as platforms
for our feet and imaginations--and I look forward to sharing some of my work here.
All of my boards are hand built, and all of my glassing is by Leslie Anderson at
Fatty Fiberglass. Her resin work is, hands down, the best I've ever seen.
Surftech
Randy French founded SURFTECH in 1989, his background as a surfboard shaper and
a pioneer in the windsurf industry drove him to experiment with different materials in an
effort to make his boards lighter and stronger.
Partnering with the world's top shapers gave Surftech access to the top surfers in the
world. Hearing their feedback on the Tuflite boards was confirmation that Randy's vision
of a lighter, stronger more high-performance surfboard was for real. The relationships
developed with these high level pros, was a tremendous help in the development of
Surftech's revolutionary technology.
GSI
Surfboards are our passion at Global Surf Industries. Since we started our company we
have continually worked to develop a complete range of surfboards that starts with basic
surfboards that you can learn to surf on as a beginner, all the way through to high
performance surfboards for the more experienced that are being ridden at many of the
best breaks around the world. This development is an ongoing process, as we are always
working on new projects to improve the world of surfing.
Starboard
Standing up experiencing the balance of nature, while enjoying pushing the ultimate
development program at the cutting edge of technology:
We are exploring unchartered territories by introducing the worlds widest most stable
shapes. Our unique wave program introduces the shortest outlines and best turning
shapes, built in the lightest technologies, whereas the race development team has
produced the quickest and most slender hulls our young sport has ever seen.
Stewart Surfboards
Bill Stewart, the true father of the modern longboard, founded Stewart Surfboards
over 30 years ago in a tiny shop in Laguna Beach, California. Originally offering a
small selection of custom boards and hand-painted airbrushed hats, the business
quickly grew and moved to San Clemente. At that time, Stewart boards were best
known for their eye-popping airbrush artwork, hand-painted by Bill himself.
Over the years, Stewart Surfboards has become synonymous with high-quality, hand-
crafted custom boards, especially performance longboards.
Mystic Surfboards John had been making custom surfboards since he was a kid on the east coast. After college, he went on to open a surf shop in Cape Cod called the Pump House. This is where he started shaping under the Mystic Label. Over the next few years, John shaped and glassed hundreds of boards for his customers. In 1995, John sold the Pump House and moved to California in search of better waves and warmer winters. John kept the Mystic Surfboard label and continued to shape in California. He quickly built a reputation as being one of the best underground shapers in the Bay Area.

Paige Green Photography
As a kid I spent many hours drawing and painting, but in college I wanted to know more
about the people and communities of the world, so I majored in geography. I became
photographer because it was the best way to combine my love of art and social sciences.
I am currently living and working the San Francisco Bay Area. But if you have a story
that needs to be told, a wedding that needs to be documented, or a face that needs to be
photographed, I will happily travel anywhere in the world. Please send me an email about
your photography needs and I will be in touch soon.
Susan Adler Photography
Susan combines her technical skills and years of experience in filmmaking and still
photography to handle all types of jobs. She can orchestrate traditional family portraits
and be an unobtrusive photographer capturing the more candid moments at the same
time.
