3:00 pm - Closing Early Today. Wind is still lightly side-shore and there are a few waves with surfers in the water. Cloud cover has come back to block out sun.

Good morning! Go GIANTS!!
Another beautiful sunny morning with mild temps and streaky skies. Winds are side shore which is causing ocean texture but the weather is relatively nice and dry with no rain.

Surf is a bit smaller than the last couple of days. Swell has dropped and both spots are showing waves in the knee to thigh high size. It is a little bumpy/choppy out there due to the wind.

Channel has lefts that are longboardable and thigh high at best.
Patch has rights that are longboardable and knee to thigh high.
Bring your longest board for best results today.

Good morning and happy Wednesday! Beautiful sunny morning which by 1 pm has become completely clouded in. We have had a few raindrops as of 4:30. Temperature mid 50s.

Swell direction has changed to a S/W and the surf is a bit smaller than the last couple of days. It is very bumpy/choppy out there. There are occasional thigh high sets in the channel. The patch is smaller at about 1-2'. The wind picked up this afternoon, but calmed down as the clouds have moved in.

There's still a NW swell showing mostly in the channel with most people surfing there this morning. Most of the sets are waist to chest high with shoulder high sets coming through too. The patch is smaller at 1-2 feet. Nice conditions so far, I'll update if there's any changes with the high tide this afternoon.

Good morning and happy Monday everyone. Today we are beginning to see the sunshine. We have a light fog that seems to be burning off and partially cloudy skies. It's 50 degrees and there's no wind as of yet.

There's some NW swell showing mostly in the channel with most people surfing there this morning. Most of the sets are waist high average with waist to chest high sets coming through too. The patch is smaller at 1-2 feet. Nice conditions so far, I'll update if there's any changes with the high tide this afternoon.

We'll call it stormy Sunday.
Unfortunately, conditions are worse than I hoped for.

The ocean is rough, the winds are very steady onshore. There are waves in the waist to chest high range, but it's just stormy. There are two people, who, in all honesty, look to be a little crazy, attempting to fight their way out.
They aren't having much luck.

There are, however, many hours in the day and maybe the conditions will change. I'll keep you posted.

As of 1:00 pm planning on closing up shop here pretty quick.

Conditions have not improved. No one in the water. Still raining, still windy choppy, and stormy.

Good day to curl up in front of a nice warm fire and read.

Daily Surf Report - 10/23/2010

12:00pm -
Lots of rain steadily falling. South winds continue. Not stopping people from getting in the water but conditions could be better.

We have light rain and overcast conditions to start the morning. Temps are mild but winds are from the SW and a bit onshore. Clearing on the W horizon but rain is predicted on and off throughout the weekend.

Swell has come down but there are still some waves to take off on. There are currently 8 surfers out at both spots catching waves this morning.

Channel has thigh high lefts breaking on the 2 good sandbars. If you can connect the sections they can be ridden to the inside on a longboard. Pieces and parts but there are a few waves to be had.

Patch has waves in the thigh high range. Tide is filling in and the wave is soft but rideable on a longboard. Tide drops quickly in the afternoon and could improve wave conditions.

Daily Surf Report - 10/22/2010

We have light rain and overcast conditions today. Temps are mild and winds are very light making the surf conditions relatively decent.

There is some swell in the water and it is a bit smoother than yesterday. There are surfers out at both spots in town catching waves this morning.

Channel has waist high lefts breaking on the typical 2 sandbars that can be ridden to the inside on a longboard. Long rides are occurring on longboards.

Patch has waves in the thigh high + range working both inside with the incoming tide and midway outside as well. Starting to have a little wave in front of the Graffiti wall as well. May be due to swell direction or sand movement.

Sun was in and out throughout the day with periods of warm, cool and rain. Winds still a bit swirling and southerly. Surf is choppy when tide is low but there is swell.

We have coastal cloudiness and overcast conditions this morning. No low fog and patches of blue sky scattered around. Temps are mild and winds are a little mixed.

There is some swell in the water but it is not as smooth as it has been in the last few days. A bit of texture on the ocean but rideable waves are out there.

There are surfers out in both the patch and channel this morning. Channel has thigh high lefts breaking on the typical 2 sandbars that can be ridden to the inside on a longboard.

Good morning and happy Tuesday to you. This morning we had heavy fog conditions and as of almost 1 pm the fog is still hanging out. It is not as thick as earlier and there's still no wind. The sun is trying to shine through.

I have just been given a report from a surfer that the channel/groin area have some knee to thigh high waves--although they are weak and there are long waits, it is fun! The patch is still pretty flat.

Good morning everyone, this morning we are greeted with coastal cloudiness, light winds and mild temperatures. It is currently raining.

The Channel continues to have fun waves rolling in. Waves are in the waist high plus range. Currently the tide is pretty high, so you'll need a longboard, as it drops any board should work. There are also inside rights and waves to be had over on the Seadrift side. Looks fun.

The Patch is in the thigh high + range maybe waist high on the better waves. Still smooth and rideable on a longboard. Looks to be breaking about midway this morning. Tide is mid all day so conditions should stay consistent.

Daily Surf Report - 10/16/2010

Sunny and starting to get warm at 11:00am.

No fog but a little coastal cloudiness this morning. There are patches of blue sky, no wind and mild temperatures. Lots of foxes and deer out and about as well so drive carefully.

If you like fast, smooth, racy lefts that are waist high + then the Channel is your spot today. Waves are fun and plentiful and tide is mid all day. There are also inside rights and waves to be had over on the Seadrift side. Lots of boards will work today from a longboard to a fish.

The Patch is in the thigh high + range maybe waist high on the better waves. Still smooth and rideable on a longboard. Looks to be breaking about midway and outside this morning. Tide is mid all day so conditions should stay consistent.

Daily Surf Report - 10/15/2010

Sun came out at 2:45 pm and it is now warming up.

In town this morning we have low level ground fog that is relatively thick. Of course just 2 miles away the sun is shining brightly and it is warm. I am expecting / hoping this will burn off by mid morning as a high pressure system is still in effect.

Starting to get a little bit of combo swell from the residual NW wind swell and the SSW swell moving up the coast.

Channel still has a very good left breaking in the waist high range. There are also inside rights and waves to be had over on the Seadrift side. Longboard still works best today.

The Patch is in the thigh high + range maybe waist high on the better waves. Looks to be breaking about midway and outside this morning. Tide is mid all day so conditions should stay consistent.

Daily Surf Report - 10/14/2010

It is sunny and hot out here in Bolinas with a nice bit of surf as well. If you are working I would consider quitting your job.

Today we have another gorgeous day with just a slight breeze. Sunny streaky skies that are pink and purple. Temperature is mild and rising and rising.

Nice glassy surf conditions--great longboarding day.

Channel has a very good left breaking in the waist high range. Waves is best ridden on a longboard today and is breaking all the way to the inside Groin section. Seadrift has rights that are waist high as well.

The Patch is in the thigh high + range. Mostly rights and some surfers heading that direction now. Tide is mid all day so conditions should stay consistent.

Nice glassy surf conditions--great longboarding day. Surf was smaller this morning at 1-2' in both the patch and channel and as the tide filled in there were some nice lefts in the channel at thigh to waist high. The patch was in the knee to thigh high range...still no wind, a beautiful and warm afternoon.

The surf is glassy picking up a bit since this morning. The patch is around 1' to 2'. The channel was waist high in the early afternoon, but later dropped back down to knee high. Bring your long board and have fun!

Good Morning everyone, this morning we have mild temps,
coastal fog, drizzle and no wind.

The channel has some fun little left's rolling through in the thigh high range.
Not super consistent but fun nonetheless. There are about 15 guys in the water right now.

The patch looks to have has some fun little waves breaking in the knee high range on the inside. Definitely bring your longboard.

We will update a little later.

UPDATE: As of 1:00pm: Sun is shining! There are fun waves to be had in the patch as well as the channel. Both spots are in the 2-3 foot range.

Daily Surf Report - 10/9/2010

Sun, sun and more sun. Warm temps in the low 80s. in the afternoon.

Early morning sunrise was pink, purple and red. Windless, clear and warm already. Promises to be a beautiful beach day today so come out and enjoy.

The Channel is super fun, smooth and glassy. Waves are in the thigh high size on average right now with with mostly lefts and the occasional inside right. The left is long and breaking all the way to the inside Groin pole. Fun on a longboard today. Seadrift has lefts and rights as well in the thigh high range. Glassy morning.

The Patch is knee high and smooth with rights coming in about midway out and inside as well. Looks to be fun on a longboard. There are 4 surfers in the water right now.
