Good morning and happy Monday to you. We have mostly sunny skies with a few lingering high clouds. The temperature is currently 48 degrees and rising...there's a side shore breeze, not too much wind at all.

We have a 3-4' S/W swell showing in the channel with consistent waist high sets and several rolling through waist to chest high. There are around 15 surfers out there this morning. There are about 6 surfers in the patch with smaller surf in the knee to thigh high range. There's a bit of texture on the water, but it seems to be cleaning up. I will update any condition changes right here.

Daily Surf Report - 12/26/2010

Mostly sunny skies with patches of clouds today. Temp is 48F and winds are currently very light. Barometer is rising so sun should be on tap all day. Storm has kicked up the ocean and brought some pieces of surf with it. Not very organized but the weather is inviting if the surf isn't exactly smooth.

The Channel has the best workable corners with lefts off the 2 sandbars that look to be waist to chest high. Inconsistent waves but there are pieces to be ridden if you want to get wet.

There are some waves breaking right out front of the Boat Ramp as well. Nothing special but again pieces of surf with corners to be ridden. About waist high. Weather is great today.

The Patch is a jumbled mess today. You can paddle and hunt but looks mostly unrideable.

Daily Surf Report - 12/24/2010

Another Bo-beautiful morning. Sun is rising, skies in the south are red/orange, temp is 41F and it is clear and cold. Winds are very light. Swell is less organized today with only pieces and parts of surf to be had.

The Channel has small waves in the knee to thigh high size with the lefts off the outside bar and rights at Mali-Bo. Bring a log to have the most fun today. Tide fills in high later today so morning is best. Weather is great.

The Patch is jumbled and mostly flat. You can paddle and hunt but the size is knee high with the occasional thigh high wave. Mostly breaking inside.

Reminder - We will be CLOSED for Christmas day but open at 10am on the 26th.

Daily Surf Report - 12/23/2010

Sunny, clear and cold this morning. Winds are light off shore and temp is 41F. Beautiful morning in Bolinas with a little bit of swell in the water.

The Channel has surf with waves breaking in the thigh to waist high size on the better ones. There are longboarders and SUPs out there now. Tide is coming up and softening things a bit but it is rideable and the weather is perfect.

The Patch is smaller and breaking on the inside with waves in the thigh high range. You can get waves here on your longboard today. There is definitely a pulse in the water.

This afternoon we have some sunshine with clouds, it is 58 degrees. The wind is very light.

The surf is calm and has cleaned up a lot since yesterday. With this high morning tide, the patch was not breaking at all, but the channel showed a 2-3 foot swell. The tide was going out pretty fast this afternoon and it created smaller surf. The channel looked in the knee high range this afternoon and the patch around 1 foot.

Happy winter solstice to everyone! Dark cloudy skies this morning--no rain yet, but very gusty winds at 15 mph. Extreme tide shift today with the full moon.

The paddle out memorial to Gene Abbott will be held at 11:30 am over in the patch this morning. Meet and gather on the beach to share thoughts. Then we begin A Surfers Memorial Ceremony¸ paddling out into the ocean, outside of the breaking waves, and forming a circle by holding hands. No surfing experience is necessary to paddle out with us, just wear a wetsuit and have a surfboard. Non-surfers can gather on the beach, joining the paddlers in spirit.
After the memorial, we will be heading to Gene's favorite food spot,
The Surfer's Grill, in Stinson Beach for lunch. The Surfer's Grill is on the beach next to the lifeguard station inside the park. Drive to the end of the park and follow the signs to The Surfer's Grill.

The surf is reflecting the weather again today with very choppy water--the patch is not breaking at all, and the channel looks around thigh to waist high. I'm guessing as there are no surfers out there yet. There's no organization to the waves at all right now--they are all over the place.

If the conditions change this afternoon as the tide is going out I will update this for you. It hopefully will clean up if our winds calm down.

Good morning and happy Monday! As of noon, no sun and all clouds with rain showers starting. Still 52 degrees. It does feel colder due to our heavy, gusty winds...it's probably 15-20 mph.

The surf is very stormy looking. The south winds have caused lots of white water and there's no organization to the sets. It is around waist high in the patch and chest high in the channel if I were to guess, but there is no person surfing this morning. If the conditions change this afternoon as the tide is going out I will update this for you. It could clean up if our winds calm down.

Daily Surf Report - 12/19/2010

Rain, rain and more rain. Current temp is 52F. Winds are light and actually side to offshore which is a positive this morning. Swell is finally showing itself and even with the high tide waves are breaking.

The Channel / Groin is the most organized with waves breaking in the shoulder high range. It is not super clean but ocean is relatively smooth and the surf is rideable. Longboards and shorter boards are getting in the water and taking a look. High tide is making the boat ramp entry a challenge but there is some surf today. Lots of water moving around.

The Patch has periodic waves in the waist high + range. It is not very organized but you can find something there if you paddle around. There is definitely a pulse in the water. I'll keep you posted if conditions improve.

This morning we are greeted with overcast skies, light winds, and a stormy ocean. The tide just peaked, so the swell that is coming in is pretty mushy. No one out yet.

There are waves breaking inconsistently in both spots.

The channel is about waist, to chest high. The patch, thigh to waist.
There is definitely a pulse in the water. As the tide goes out it could clean up nicely. Future Forecaster says we have sun on the way.

Could turn out to be a nice day. I'll keep you posted.

As of 11:30, no sun, rain instead.

As of 2:00 pm still raining, probably close up around 3:00pm.

Daily Surf Report - 12/17/2010

Periodic rain and wind today. Temp is 47F. Winds are at least blowing offshore but storm has not kicked up much surf yet. Give a call if you are coming out later in the day as we may close early today.

Channel still has small surf in the thigh high size. More of a right occurring in the Channel and at Mali-Bo today. Winds are stiff offshore and it is actually rideable on a longboard if you need to get wet today.

Patch is currently flat. No one in the water.

Sunny, clear, crisp, cold and beautiful morning in Bolinas today. Ice on windows and roofs. Current outside temp is 41F. Sun is warming things up. Winds are lightly offshore but surf is not as cooperative as yesterday.

Channel has small surf in the knee to thigh high size with only 1 surfer currently in the water. Inside bar is better with a smooth but small left to ride on a longboard.

Patch has surf on the inside that is also small and smooth. Knee to thigh high at best but rideable on a longboard. 2 SUPs heading out here.

Happy Wednesday. Nicer day today...fog is gone. We have mostly cloudy skies with a little sun. It's 61 degrees as of 12:30 pm and there's only a side shore breeze.

Nice surf conditions--smooth and calm. S/W small swell is around 3 feet. The patch is averaging knee to thigh high with 6 surfers out so far this morning. There are about a dozen surfers in the channel where we see longer intervals, but an average of thigh high and some at the waist.
Great day to bring out the longboard.

There is a little bump from the west--the channel currently has waves in the knee to thigh high range breaking cleanly to the inside. There are two surfers out there along with two SUPs.

Good Morning everyone, it's a beautiful morning.
Sun, no wind, and a smooth ocean.
Surf is looking pretty small, but nice.

The channel currently has waves in the knee to thigh high range breaking cleanly to the inside. Definitely a longboard day.

The patch is currently flat. May improve with tide.

A beautiful day to paddle, surf, lay in the sun, whatever, just a beautiful day to be at the beach, especially in December!!

Daily Surf Report - 12/11/2010

Overcast with some fog. Patches of sun and blue sky peeking through periodically as well. No wind and temp is 56F. High pressure system kicking in and mild to warm temps are expected. Ocean is still smooth and organized today. Swell has dropped another notch but still coughs up some waves in the waist high + size with some energy.

Channel has surf that is smooth, glassy and fun. There are mostly lefts off the bar in the Channel and at the Groin. Thigh to waist high size on the better waves. There are occasional rights deep in the Channel an over towards Stinson as well. Mostly longboards in the water but a few shorter boards are catching waves on the inside and rides can be long and fun. Come to the beach and surf.

Patch has surf again as well and longboards and SUPs are out there. If you are in the right place there are rights to be had in the thigh to waist high range today. Bring your longest board.

Daily Surf Report - 12/10/2020

Misty, foggy, drizzle and overcast this morning. Perfect surf weather as it keeps the wind down. Temp is a balmy 55F again. Clearing conditions and sun is predicted for later today. Yesterday was a mix but wind was nil all day. Ocean is smooth and a bit more organized today. Swell has dropped a little but there are still waves.

Channel still has the best conditions with lefts off the bar at the Groin in the waist to chest to shoulder high size on the better waves. There are rights deep in the Channel an over towards Stinson as well. Mostly longboards in the water but a few shorter boards are catching waves on the inside and rides can be long and fun. Misty, overcast and light drizzle is the weather this morning. Temp is a balmy 55F and no wind. Clearing conditions and sun is predicted for the next 2 days. Ocean is smooth and there is real swell from the W / NW today bringing us very rideable surf.

Channel has the best conditions with lefts off the bar at the chest to shoulder high size. Mostly longboards in the water but a few shorter boards are catching waves on the inside and rides can be long. Definitely waves today and tomorrow in town.

Patch is showing signs of life with scattered waves throughout the area. If you are in the right place there are rights to be had in the shoulder high range and there are surfers and SUPs out there now.

Good morning, happy wet Wednesday! Total opposite weather from yesterdays sun...it is pouring rain and there's a 5-10 mph south wind. It's 53 degrees.

The surf is pretty crazy looking...there's 2-3 feet out in the patch with waist high sets in the channel. It's completely bumpy, disorganized and stormy with no one currently surfing. Of course if conditions improve, I'll update for you here, but otherwise I may close early, so please call if you plan on coming out, thanks!
