Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Smash the control images. Smash the control machine." - William S. Burroughs

A quiet morning is under way here as the sun is kept out and the heavy fog sits overhead. The weather is moist and 56F. No heat radiating in as we had hoped but later hours may reveal sunshine. As for the water, no swell is seen as of now and low has yet to hit. Afternoon high seems doable with semi even lows on either side. Keep an eye out and keeps your crystals near.

CHANNEL:  Low has nothing available for us this morning. Nobody bothers and nobody wanders. Empty and choppy as the sandbar is the only thing existing here.

PATCH: Lake Bolinas is in effect here. No more than a ripple exists and is of course, no rides are available. Good for sitting and watching. Bad for surfing.  May peace be with you.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it." - Henry David Thoreau

A seemingly endless parade of low tide mornings elicits a scarcity of waves and by association people as well.  Kept quiet by lack of activity a peaceful calm surrounds and protects.  A rising NW windswell gives hope for the later hours when tides fill to suitable levels.  Hints of a new SW groundswell may be just rumor or innuendo.  Coastal clouds already giving way to sunshine and light NE winds with temps of 57F.  It's a wide open playing field and all of it can be yours.

CHANNEL:  Knee slappers combo with shore clappers under diminished tides.  Fishermen share the lineup with SUPs and sleds as a delicate dance unfolds.  Even under the depleted domain one can see the sandbars aligned and primed for the day beloved swell returns.  Stay ready friends.

PATCH: A motionless quietude filled with inactivity and peace.  An unending lull unbroken by any undulations.  A calm you can appreciate but wish would dissolve.  A void unfulfilled.  Transformational under better circumstances.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You don't have to do something extraordinary to be happy." - Unknown.

Cloudy skies keep most at bay but serenity is upon us in forms of coastal cover, stillness, and the break of kinetic energy through our favorite medium. Few bodies dwindle here and there this morning as most prophesied the diminished swells and overhangs in this early hours. With later times, chances to ride will rise but knee height is where we will stay. Cozy, calm, and comfortable. Today is a day. Go grab it.

CHANNEL:  Two standers gain balance and experience in the basics, while beach breaks stay at shin height. Low waters leave this area good for everything but a surf. With higher levels, curlers will come but only the remnants of what once was.

PATCH: A stillness so tranquil you want for nothing else but what is. A shallow pond, energies underneath are not even enough to break onto rock, but rather it graces the shore with a touch - an embrace - before it retreats back into what is known. Higher levels will bring better opportunity. And so, back to the classic patch we go.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Don't find fault, find a remedy." - Henry Ford

Residual ripples under an undulating sky as blue and white mix and mingle.  Fading away though some stragglers will stay the low tide takes while the higher tides give.  Languishing swells from all angles are part and parcel for the day.  Favorably no winds with a serene calm.   Scent of eucalyptus in the air and a temp of 60F.  Full beauty in the beholder's eye and mood swings as the day progresses.

CHANNEL:  Too low and too early for slides to materialize and formulate plans.  Fishing kayaks probe the shoals in search of sport while consistent shin rackers break along the Channel bars.  More tide will lend more opportunity though size will remain diminutive under waning swells.

PATCH: Replete with rocks and absent of much else currently.  Now tides fill in and will rise and rise to magnificent heights.  May they bring some positive energies to the arena?  Unknown for now as the S swell drops off to lingering levels but still has the capacity to provide meager nourishment.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude" - Maya Angelou

Wiping the sleep from our eyes we are able to see that the fog layer has landed and blanketed the town with mist. Though not as chilly as yesterday, the wind still keeps us bundled for the early hours of the day. 62F and hopefully rising, yet the forecast predicts no changes.

CHANNEL: As of now the tide is still rising, and will need a bit more time. Coming up from a negative, the sandbar is still an obstacle- but not for much longer. Steep and crunchy, shin high. With more water comes more possibilities.

PATCH: Once in a while something rolls though. Consistency is absent and so is the crowd. Just a pair remain after the waiting game has on gone too long. Try wait - tide come.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Choose to be optimistic, it feels better." - Dalai Lama

Pesky SW winds and morning low tides knock the luster off and lower early temptations.  Again it's overcast though not socked in with various sprays and mists around every corner.  Temp of 59F and clearing expectations with sun raring to unleash if allowed.  NW windswell grows.  SW swell holds and all the elements are available though not quite measured or organized just yet.  As the tide fills and the winds calm, those willing to lay claim to some slides should have their wishes granted.

CHANNEL: Surf perch and striper season is open access on the low and negative tides.  Appropriate waders in effect with long casters garnering the most action.  Tide rises fast so expect a quick turnaround in players with upbeat sliders exploring options as the NW windswell allows.  Sandbar spacing is judiciously placed with sectioned breakers thigh high and above on tap.

PATCH:  Holding steady swell waiting on reliable water levels as rock pickers probe stashes in the early hours.  Findings are currently few and far between though treasures can be mined by those with a keen sense of place and time.  Incoming tides have given a gentle push and smoothed out the rough edges with up to waist high goodness apparent at times.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The great opportunity is where you are." - John Burroughs

Early SW wind flow and a spritz of mist unleash the start of a new day.  Not enough moisture to keep many nestled in their cocoons and early bustling action fills the streets.  Word of prophesies fulfilled and swells on the rise have many up, in and out during the lower tide access arena.  Others wait for the return of mass waters to allow for energies to be brought forth.  Either way is good for you as there is plenty to share.  Overcast and 59F but that is sure to change for the better.

CHANNEL: Let's swim to the moon.  Let's climb through the tide.  Surrender to the waiting worlds, that lap against our side.

PATCH:  A heady SW swell remains and is formulated to work best with more water.  Those with unlimited time sip coffee and trade stories to pass the hours while others stretch rubber over arms and legs and tote logs forthwith.  Textured but not tattered in the morning climate.  Smooth and creamy as the day progresses.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice." - Bob Marley

Resilient in the early light with tide change allowing easy access to all.  All non-workers and non-scholars are here filling the voids.  Summer time vibes can continue in your mind for as long as you will allow.  Today can be your day to splash, frolic or shred - as you see fit.  Lightly overcast that should soon dissolve and give way to sun.  Temp of 58F and light ESE winds.  Built NW windswell and budding SW swell are the primary players and both are currently alive and active.

CHANNEL: Low tide filling in and pushing back and up towards the seawall.  Presently viable with a smooth facade and deeper bar offerings.  Longboards are a worthwhile option for making the voyage but eggs and mid-lengths offer an alternative viewpoint once up and riding.  Wandering waist high waves make for a playful morning.  Mind the wall in the evening hours when the tide peaks as it eats boards and spits out the shards.

PATCH:  A SW swell in its germination phase shows promise and potential after much wait and debate.  Forthcoming tide lending more water to the fray and all loggers with length to spare have this locale in mind.  Let your eyes be the judge and your heart lead the way.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" - Martin Luther King Jr.

The change of the California scenery is an astounding feature. From rolling brown hills, into the fog ridden trees, and out into the open ocean, there's a change of weather as we head west but nevertheless, the clean air intermingling with salt water does any head a lot of good. Starting out at high 50s F and expected to rise a bit, shedding of some overcasting shelter and bringing on what other people like to call "good." A little pick up in energy coming from the S and carried through our favorite medium is providing an end of summer splash here, though school in session keeps many away. More for us.

CHANNEL: The incoming does not bequeath us with major pleasantries but it is always the thought that counts, and in this regard we are able to move on water at a vertical position so what is not to like about this gift. Better yet when a change comes for there are definitely things.

PATCH:  Energy enough to create potentiality but high tides dwarf any possibility of a break. As a medium, water is forced to create the tiniest of shadows but its abundance proves to be overpowering. Later in the day, holding a longboard I say.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"In deep sadness there is no place for sentimentality." - William Burroughs

What we speak is true, as what has come has yet to leave and its agenda is open air. High of one transferring to a low of another but generally staying crisp, cool, and clean. Water potentials create a feasible concoction for good fortune while textures appear lumpy but not strong. Moments are here and how joyous they are become up to you. Never a teacup nor is it sharing similarities with a stomach-drop, but rather the experience of the moment is here.

CHANNEL: All from laying launchers to feet fanatics, there is a population of human beings here. Short and sweet but showing promise of returns for desired rights. Increase in height by a smidgen, growth is occurring but for how long is yet to be written.

PATCH:  Tumbling low, we question the check of reality down here at knee height. Feasible moments approach in a luxury interlude. Unknown it is not, but rather sparse and small.

"Run over by my lawnmower,  waiting for me to leave,  The frog" - Jack Kerouac

Oh where has the summer gone? Fog and chill enter in as the day begins. Early risers and hypnotizers see the water the same way today as the NW stand still.  Cool air temperatures keep us bundled up from head to toe. Enjoy the morning with some tea and a book, for surfing is not an option here.

CHANNEL: Afternoon visions seem clear, anything better than now will do. Ankle biters with no power crumble through and fade. Tide swings will have an effect on conditions later, keep an eye out for better hours will come.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"When you cease to dream you cease to live." - Malcom Forbes

A hybrid blend but barely so with NW windswell up a click and southern hemi activity shifted a few degrees west.  Currently a heavy kayak karavan as stripers nibble and bite.  Seals congregate looking for residuals in the higher tides and few waves splash off in the distance bidden but un-ridden.  Another morning of high clouds willing to burn off early and no winds.  Lustrous and inviting surfaces that show appeal on many levels.

CHANNEL: Surrounded by seals during the early higher tides a renewed NW windswell tempts fate.  Timid by most standards but locating the bars below in an effort to refuel some stokage.  Miniature lefts though relatively consistent spin through and develop thigh high breakers.  The dropping tide removes a crucial element in the configuration but water levels remain suitable for most activities.  Afternoon options may include wall dashes and smashes if one's timing is a bit off.

PATCH:  Lulls upon which to bob and dangle.  Fraught with boredom until the next pulse.  Bristling with intentions not quite met.  Under knee high peelers make their appearance.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The past is behind, learn from it.  The future is ahead, prepare for it.  The present is here, live it." - Thomas S. Monson

Smooth and sleek and quiet in the early hours.  Lackluster swells setting teeth on edge.  Anchovies, pelicans and seals dominate in a locals only fashion on the dropping tide.  Morning clouds with clearing and sun salutation potential.  No winds and cozy at 56F.  An initial bleak outlook but seekers never stop striving and suiting up has never been a losing proposition.  Tide turnaround happening soon.  Let that extra push set your day in motion on the ocean.

CHANNEL: Bait fish bonanza as various schools are now in session.  Bonus buffet for all area pinnipeds.  Knee-cappers only on offer with weakened NW windswell.  Incoming tide will clear things up and hopefully redefine the options.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new." - Albert Einstein

Low tide vibes with consolidated rides as those looking for excitement turn elsewhere.  Stoke seekers and secret keepers do remain and suit up without a care of conditions.  These are the curators of the flame and fan the fires for all of us.  Meanwhile we have more August morning fog but no winds and a tepid temp of 57F.  Only minor touches of NW windswell with a suggestion from the S under more positive tides.  Mornings are currently for contemplation and warm beverages.  Afternoons may hold different opportunities.

CHANNEL: Bottomed out and hitting rock bottom with no water over which to Pass Go.  Residual NW swell may permeate or penetrate but not until the noontime whistle.  Bide your time though temper expectations and remember the best surfer is the one having the most fun.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." - Winnie the Pooh

There are so many things in this world to wake up and be joyous about - the energy heading our direction through forces undeveloped by humans is not one of them. Morning sessions for now are at a close. Lots are empty, water has retreated, and winds have bid farewell. One will stay this way, another will switch, and the third will probably reach medium potential. Which is none, and who has won is for you to find out. As a repeat of days past and days to come, combos are bits of that and tastes of this, offering up bitty-bumps and more. Play like a kid.

CHANNEL: Unless you are ant sized and on a leaf please stay in your homes, drink your morning choice of hot beverage, and read something interesting. Do this for a long time, wait for the changes, then proceed.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"This too, shall pass." - proverb from Levent

Taking it way back to about last month, we are caked in a morning fog'n'mist, dreaming about warmer days and stronger energy. We got a little bit of this and a tiny bit of that mixing up for a surf in this life - of the variety in short-sweet and do it again. Into the water we go (later) to just appreciate the beginnings of it all. Long, long, and longer work here. Don't be blue, just hop into it.

CHANNEL: Low water leaves this park with low opportunities of rides. Later in the day may provide small slides for practice. Back to Bo-basics.

PATCH:  Nada. No. Negative. Besides some cool parts of earth in different forms, the levels of human activity are down to floating, walking, and mindfulness. Neither are bad, but you don't come here to read about any.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Crazy people are considered mad by the rest of society only because their intelligence in not understood." - Zhou Weihui

A blue palate fills up our eyes as we drive past the lagoon and down the rabbit hole. Everyday is a school day but for now we know not what we shall learn and instead understand only what has already been obtained through certain pathways. Seeing here is an unknown that is common knowledge. Vanquished are many dreams about a rip and roar but soar to new heights and stay mindful. Stay and float; plan the future.

CHANNEL: A skiddle-dee to a doodle-doo we ain't no humpty dumpty that a wolf on a wall can't possibly fix. Guess again or do a recount. Later, after a morning coffee and some sizzling, sliders or pancakes we may realign our heads and procure some real life information.

PATCH:  Hm. A super duper gloss to sit aboard your board and floss. Low and dreamy. Less to see, more to imagine.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Sometimes in this game it's as good to be lucky as it is to be good." - Vida Blue

It seems we are back to normal, back to our routine. Morning lows are somewhat familiar here but not always favored. Although the day is dark, beams of light shine down in the distance. Dreams of the sun in those spots spin in our minds. Early risers sneak a peak but are not surprised to find what is presented to them.

CHANNEL: No, no, no. Nothing to see here. Negative tide leaves nothing for those who seek surf. Little ripples can be seen but not ridden, afternoon highs are all we can look forward too as the waiting game is in play. It is suggested that you participate.

PATCH:  A lake. No movement besides a splash here and there. A hang out spot for gulls, not guys nor gals. Try wait.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Don't wait.  The time will never be just right." - Napoleon Hill

Eager morning led by a fishing brigade as the low tide draws from all points. Extensive amounts of gear is either being unloaded or overnite dripping.  Pre-dawn parking lot nonsensical convos at volume breaks the peaceful silence.  Temps continuing to remain toasty at 61F under hardened grey skies.  Just the lightest of SW winds for texture.  NW windswell nearly exhausted and S swell showing signs of weakness.  As water levels return to par we should see more surfable options with a large contingent seeking those slides.

CHANNEL: Lower tides bring no reasonable rides in the early hours of the new day.  Currently sandy islands emerging and rod + reels casting out.  The stripers may be hitting fast and furious but the breakers are not under lacking water levels.  There is still enough energy remaining in the NW windswell but time must pass before you enter.  Seadrift holds deeper secrets and does allow for participation.

PATCH:  A smooth countenance with little undulation save for well outside in the depths.  Late morning mojo may be the better option when tide levels reach a more positive note.  For now there are breakers but few takers as the day unravels at a slower pace.  Find your mark and set your goals.  Achievement is the journey.
