Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The best surfer out there is the one having the most fun." - Duke Kahanamoku

Cool moist morning dew overlays beneath feet and a resounding bright sun rises above.  The humming of car engines drown out morning song birds praying for obtainable parking.  A cold 45 degrees outside as members of sea congregations gather for the remaining NW swell.  Act fast, the time for fun is now as tidal swings shift to negative this afternoon.

CHANNEL:  Water lapping the boat ramp in a rhythmic tune making the approach difficult as the tide creeps in.  NW swell reinforcing it's hold in the water.  Groin sand bar holding for now as the tide rises helping create thigh high peelers.  More size on the Sea Drift side in the waist zone.  A couple dozen neoprene friends out celebrating with high fives and smiles.

PATCH: Green wall over-spray covering backs while walking to smaller offerings.  If waves were like playgrounds, welcome to Middle School.  Lumps and bumps on the horizon materialize in a moody form.  Sometimes knee, sometimes ankle, it can't decide how to feel.  Take a chance and introduce yourself to the small lunch group already gathered.  Who knows, you may make a friend.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"A warm smile is the universal language of kindness." - William Arthur Ward

Encumbered attendees flood the scene and NW swell continues to mack.  Freshly cleared skies leave no doubt and temp rolls in at 42F to initiate the day.  NE winds again working to keep it clean but abundant tide swings may have other plans.  Grand amounts of water moving around and plenty of sliders bobbing, weaving and searching.  Full moon evening so at least get your crystals cleansed and recharged and remember Dave likes to sleep in on weekends.

CHANNEL:  Tide pulsing and swell peaking makes this a congested arena.  Observation points swamped and entries require timing and persistence.  Enough swell to outweigh the water levels but bar corners are still the cleanest peaks to pick.  Nestle inside among the smoother breakers and avoid the outside mayhem the day is sure to bring.  Any and all board could be appropriate today and above waist high aspirations can be attained.

PATCH: High tide override as NW swell has enough juice to jump the reef.  Morning opportunities are limited by a simple supply v. demand curve.  Randomly disseminated breakers give the illusion of more.  Pick quality over quantity and accentuate the positive.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The secret of achievement is to hold a picture of a successful outcome in your mind." - Henry David Thoreau

Ramp spillage sends the seekers scurrying for dry perches to observe.  Generous amounts of water and swell co-join forces to invigorate the morning.  Lifted fog by NE winds provide clearing skies and temp of 47F.  Altered angles allowing for deeper penetration of propulsive forces.  Tide swings keep it interesting and boundaries are being constantly expanded or improvised.

CHANNEL:  A peaked tide with depth to spare has momentum crashers and seawall splashers in spades.  Interior corners can be utilized for speed runs to shore.  External energies are the lure yet produce less often.  There is more than meets the eye and the new aspect of direction has favorable connotations.

PATCH: More tide / Less swell.  Infiltrated with stand tall patronage pursuing out and back excursions.  Breakers are less present and swell course not favorable for morning slides.  Less water may allow for existential experiences but that remains an unknown at this time.  For now just BE.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Give everyday the chance to become the most beautiful day of your life." - Mark Twain

Creamsicle tints and a cool rinse with water temps hovering around 59F.  Not a product of global warming which apparently doesn't exist.  Put environmental concerns in the back of your mind and refocus on the task at hand - stoke seeking.  Vibrant skies to all open eyes and sun to warm the morning chills.  Grande NW swell has grown and honed its parameters but refuses a direct strike upon our shores.  Very high tide slowing momentum down but the forces are out there and will eventually be exposed.

CHANNEL:  Steeped in high tide and overflowing it has drawn the shortboard ripper faction.  What is found lacks true juice with too much water and unaligned bars.  Smooth presentations with E wind grooming but needs less liquid to really formulate a plan.  Mid-lengths and longboards can still ferret out a session of waist high peelers.  Afternoon activities might be worth a look and see.

PATCH: Some goin' east, some goin' west.  Some step aside to try their best.  Some livin' big, but most livin' small.  They just can't even find no food at all.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"All great changes are proceeded by chaos." - Deepak Chopra

A call from the depths brings many to the edge of the world as NW mega swell formulates and fills in throughout the day.  Full sun and E winds keep it smooth on the surface and chilled in the air with early temps tickling the 30s and now up to 47F.  Resounding activity with potency to spare on tap over the next few days.  Newfound parameters may be set or exceeded as fall abundance is freely dispensed.

CHANNEL:  Ripe with potential and initial possibilities upon tides verging on too high.  Settling in to an outgoing flow and lower levels of a manageable range.  Wider swaths of watery movements can be expected and collected with residual sandbars finding new life expectancy.  Currently not yet booming or banging except up against the seawall, but breakers with consistency roll through with size finding many waists.

PATCH: Exceeding expectations with no mobilization from the S.  NW swell overflowing the outer reef upon higher tides and letting some of the energy in and out.  Local barnacles enjoy the prismatic views and partake in miscellaneous rides most yielding the right of way.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Don't write what you think people want to read.  Find your voice and write about what's in your heart." - Quentin Tarantino

Blazing sunshine reaching across the crystal clear blue sky while birds and frogs hum along kick starts today's cycle.  Post holiday routines setting in with a calm and sigh of relief.  Holding hot coffee trying to keep white fingers at bay hoping the sea has once again returned to familiar patterns.  Cold air bites back as we make our way to the end of the earth anticipating our first step into liquid.

CHANNEL:  A cold 45 outside and parking is plenty making room for long logs.  Left over storm motion in the ocean giving mixed signals.  Fading WNW swell showing this morning though soon fading as the afternoon rolls in.  Ruffly on the sets as waves are near high and ride-able in the center of the channel.  Fun rides all the way to the finish line with out going tide making the walk back to the start delightful.

PATCH: You can't make mountains out of mole hills.  Though you can make mountains out of sand.  Don't forget to decorate with your favorite crystal and recharge with positivity.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The more you sit and wait, the more you have to do." - Toby

The streets are slick with yesterday's rain as well as debris from the night storm yet bright sunshine brings us light once more. The days of gray skies have passed and we are given a gift today. The storm has passed but the sea water is still coming in frantically. Tons of movement in the water but not ideal conditions.

CHANNEL: Will it be worth the paddle out? Water is rushing in with the power of what is left over from yesterday's storm. Waves to ride, but breaking almost on top of one another. Be careful and know your limits. Definitely surfable at the moment but a little sloppy / choppy.

PATCH: Heavy happenings but only 3 there to witness.  Not the safest of conditions, but a beautiful day. Waist high + but stormy and fast moving. Better off waiting for something calmer if you seek serenity.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Cause I think we can make it, in fact, I'm sure; And if you fall, stand tall and come back for more." - Tupac

Moody, dark and gray sky, not giving way to the suns light sets the tone for the day.  Turbulent winds whipping through, stinging our eyes and chilling our bones, the promised storm has arrived.  Sheets of rain plummeting sideways before hitting the ground.  Huddled warm under blankets pondering, should I stay or should I go?  Chances are if you have to ask, you already know the answer.

CHANNEL: 20mph howling winds creating dangerous victory at sea conditions.  Soupy, angry and churning white water cover the entire groin area.  WNW and SW swell try and build through but can't break the winds force.  The ocean is angry, be careful, be safe.

PATCH: Fill your breakfast bowl with an extra helping of pumpkin pie and vanilla ice cream.  It's a great day to be cozy inside while watching NFL football and surf videos.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"I know that I am intelligent, because I know that I know nothing." - Socrates

Fire in the sky with a sunrise worth the wait and the watching.  Vibrations feel positive and winds from the ESE bring a Fall warmth normally associated with summer.  A brewing storm holding off for now and patiently waiting its turn in the weather cycle.  Temp already 64F and will continue to rise.  Diminishing swells to last a final day so double sessions may well be in order.  Follow Mayor McCheese to magical kingdoms as he delves deeps to unlock the stoke today.

CHANNEL: Marginal movements in the tidal flux means plenty of water during the entire day.  Softy energized swell scraps are still being cobbled together to form a legitimate assembly.  A rogue gallery of contrived water craft are hitting the sands with opportunists seizing the day.  Again a wide spread of options awaits with most traversing the miles to deliver thigh high + breakers.

PATCH: Seeking another day of existence and basking in full sunlight and hospitality.  Logger's Delight backed with SugarHill undertones.  Find a beat, get to your feet, find the nose, curl your toes.  Besides, Dave needs a double dip and triple rinse today.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"When people are ready to change, they change." - Andy Warhol

A fog of great depth clears at the water's edge and coastal climate again remains mild and clear.  Temps hover at 57F and light winds from the E carry more warmth and refining capabilities.  Collaborative swells on the fade still have residuals worth investigation and the parking is already thin and constrained.  Not much ocean motion tidal movement to facilitate changes of consequence but the day holds promise and wonder yet undiscovered.

CHANNEL: Spaced and sporadic but finding miscellaneous bars upon which to operate.  A spread configuration with options linked along to Seadrift and beyond.   Popping peaks with directional designs both right and left can both excite and disappoint in their final outcome.  Potentially suited for logs and mid-lengths; the only variable is you.

PATCH: Relative rights with heights yearning for thighs and full sunshine to keep it golden.  Post holiday crew on school break have involved themselves in this region to keep it lively and interesting.  Bigger boards the better option as propulsion has softened but stoke can and will be sourced.

"Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.  Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less." - Marie Curie

Pre-planning and positioning to best take advantage of free time and the coming feast.  Pink and blue complexion above makes one humble in the presence of such splendor.  E winds coupled with high pressure sends the temps soaring and starting today at 68F.  Visitors, vagrants, visionaries and stags roam freely, each of their own intent.  Wind-swells containing various westerly movements and tides of mid range height fuel expectations and reality.

CHANNEL: Micro groomed and sassy with newfound locomotion.  Rearrangement of the sandbars still not formalized but under construction.  The zone is open to seekers with speed bumps and warnings posted.  Thigh high configurations are being propagated and proliferated.

PATCH: WSW engagements and the rising tide re-energize the zone.  Loggers from far and wide survey and souffle before making the trek.  Sourced rights are spacial and sporadic but once lined up will suffice for slides.  Gentleman Jack leads the procession and should be given a wide berth based on both age and beauty.

Wispy paint strokes of vibrant gray, pink and blue hues fill the morning sky as gusts of cool wind fill the void.  The last school bus of the week breaks the silence in our humble town.  Parking is plenty for now as ocean worshipers find new ways to pass time.  The calm before the Thanksgiving holiday barrage is upon us.  Enjoy the temporary silence in all its glory.

CHANNEL: Sunny and glassy with micro shin over ankle bumps and lumps.  Mid WNW swell filling in till after noon with a promise of SW arriving late.  Incoming tide making the channel swampy for now.  Keeping fingers nubs and toe stubs crossed in hopes of out going tide in the afternoon will create some energy over the groin sand bar.  Waiting is the game to play for now.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting." - Sun Tzu

Lake Bolinas in affect this morning, with not even a ray of sunshine to enjoy. No place can compare to it's beauty, but we have seen better days. Cold and cloudy, a breeze blows your hair on the fridgid walk to see what is no longer. With tides in between, no movement other than the ripples of a curious seal surround a kayak that roams the still water. Conditions may get better with the significant drop in tide, but that is a waiting game to play.

CHANNEL: Little lippers topple over near the pole, but nothing to get excited about. These puppies wouldn't move an inner tube. The water is mostly still, needs tidal movement to improve.

Log jammin' in the parking lot reminiscing over coffee, Saturday nights sushi celebration.  Incandescent sun stretching over blue, brakes the ice this beautiful morning.  Red tail hawks calling overhead leading the way to shore of what we yearn for.  Smiling faces from different places gathering for the same cause.  It's a great day to get wet and share Poseidon's kingdom.

First hints of frost with overnight temps chilled out and down to the 30s.  Toes and finger nubs burn with desire with the walk being far colder than the ocean reality.  Cleared and sunny skies have returned and the business of finding slides commences once again.  NW windswell remains while the SW attempts to gain and both will provide adequate action for the weekend seekers.

CHANNEL: A little steep and tide getting deep.  Early risers reap better benefits at the crack of day.  Windswell trailers veering more right than left lack size but resolve with length of ride.  A smoothness typically associated with Fall weather and sunscreen application still a must.  Dip and drip then give it some time to refuel and refresh as the outgoing tide will formulate new directions.

PATCH: Advanced research leads most candidates this direction.  SW swell has slightly grown and is inclined to show some range of possibility for the willing logger.   Rights reaching thighs and hopeful to gain traction are on the offering block today.  Tide remains full and ample until the early dark.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." - Confucius

Cool, clear and graced with sunshine.  Rain is over and all above rings clear.  A dip down to 45F and no winds in the air.  Fresh and ready as a Fall day can be.  Cleansed surfaces showing signs of life and future fun.  Rising tide pushing up and swell combos settle in to deliver loggable glides.  Grab a warm beverage to imbibe then put on the suit and slide.

CHANNEL: Still some NW swell remainders to tickle one's fancy.  Incoming tide gives some extra thrust before topping out.  The Channel bar is poised to receive and disperse lefts or rights depending on your inclination.  Thigh burners at best but smooth and clean and inviting.

PATCH: A stoic swell from the SW lacks true size in this season but packs long period distribution.  Roving rights with range to ride has many sights set on this venue.  Lit by golden beams and willing to work on this fine day.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The most important truths are likely to be those which society at that time least wants to hear." - W. H. Auden

Sodden morning with renewed rains and all that it can bring.  Temp stays moderated at 54F and current winds are light from the NE so a glimmer of hope exists.  Chunkish NW swell the resounding energy source but storms have left the ocean a tad messy and the cleanup has yet to commence.  A season of tide swings has it extra full now and not handling the components well.  Southerly windswell keeps eyes to the north but opportunity is in limited supply today.

CHANNEL: Swollen from tide and sloppy from storms.  The momentum exists though in faulty surroundings.  Now the perception is of far too much water though wall rides are an option.  A few hours of calming may enlighten those searching for power and glory.  For now - Try Wait.

PATCH: Emphatically empty with the exception of a lone sea bird bobbing.  What does he know that we don't?

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The best way out is always through." - Robert Frost

Interspersed precipitation with periods of calm.  No real heavy stuff yet.  Moving target cloud-cover with a temp of 50F.  Light NE winds keeping it smoothly groomed but only sunken swells to provide propulsion.   Reallocated sands provide more beach between tides swings and sandbars are reclassifying their Fall intentions.  Limited options but weather not a negative.  If it feels right go ahead and do it.

CHANNEL: A smoothness backed with early calming forces in the initial hours.  A climbing high tide making decisions difficult and approaches a hazard.  NW swell mash-up administering some stoke strikes with random forays across shallow bars.  Lengthy lulls under too much water but there is some merit to be achieved if circumstances cooperate.

PATCH: Stalwarts seek what isn't readily apparent as high tide override mutes SW swell operations.  A contemplative morning with less distraction due to low level action.  Undulations of a minimal movement give knee high hopes for those that try.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"There are no foreign lands.  It is the traveler only who is foreign." - Robert Louis Stevenson

Pink and bright blue overhead with a nippy chill in the air using today to dry out from yesterday's precipitation.  Today is the calm in between storms, for tomorrow is forecasted to be wet and windy.  Use this break wisely, enjoy the sun and take a moment to reflect.  A balmy 48 welcomes the sun's brilliance as we top out at a high 65. High tides this morning as the ocean recedes this afternoon to safer levels.

CHANNEL: Marching on blocks of wood to the beat of our own drum making the journey to what gives us meaning.  Incoming knee high waves fighting outgoing reflection formations with jumbled WNW swell-mix.  High tide making clean rides difficult, but not impossible.  Dangerous entry on the boat ramp this morning as water is churning rocks and sand underfoot.  Go steady.

PATCH: Blue ruffle movements coming forth covering all sand.  Less is more, practice makes perfect and patience is a virtue.  Timing is of the essence as wall waves have more size on the way out.
