Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Sometimes the little things in life mean the most.” - Ellen Hopkins

Mixed blue hues and spotted gray with the sun feeling a little shy this morning. Another cold start at 47 with most North American Long Tailed weasel’s burrowing down to create warmth for now. Scattered cars rolling in and out of town completing early morning tasks and to-do’s. From the top of the wall, friendly faces say hello to the familiar sights and sounds of the sea. Searching for hidden treasures, those on the look out may seek what they are hoping for.

CHANNEL: Morning overcast giving way to the sun’s brilliance. NW and WNW swell providing this morning with waves in the waist zone. Calm, glassy and steep on the face make for a fast bottom turn for those who are salty. Currently a band of brothers out humming to the beat.

PATCH:  If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands…..if you’re happy and you know it clap your hands…..if you’re happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it….if you’re happy and you know it clap your hands.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible.” - Deepak Chopra

Dark gray clouds on the move leaving fleeting spaces for blue. Cold as chills start at 47 with dawn darkness; a sign that winter is coming. Layers upon layers bundled up keeping in warmth, early morning risers walk in groups for coffee chats. School bus pick ups well underway and the countdown to Halloween has begun.

CHANNEL: Early morning boat traffic through the Channel as tide is on the rise. WNW and SSW swell hardly showing as water levels are too high for them to reach. Shin high white water crumbling on the Sea Drift side as five desperados try to hunt and peck their way. Out going tide in late afternoon might be the best bet for today.

PATCH:  Ankle biters giving stand up paddlers a run for their money with a game of hide and seek. So far, two are in the mush pot and no one has been chosen to be it.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The successful warrior is the average man, with laser-like focus.” - Bruce Lee

Dawns new beginning breaks the silence welcoming a thick gray sky and cold temps at 48. Easy and slightly breezy as over night sleepers slowly wake and roll. Parking games well under way with weekend warriors playing hide and seek. Those safely in their spots walk with coffee in hand on to the wall out to sea. Discussions and deep thoughts can be overheard and timing is everything.

CHANNEL: Rising tide all morning makes for a quick jump off the ramp into the ocean. Stretch before hand and limber up as the paddle out is farther out than it looks. Remnants of the WNW and SSW swell linger about with much less push and size. Sea Drift side breaking in the knee zone as the Channel proper has yet to wake up. If rides and slides is what you seek, choose the longest stable table you can find to get you there.

PATCH:  Calm and serene with a handful of liquorice jelly beans thrown on top. Much to do about nothing as more bobbing taking place than forward movement. Inside is always the best side and patience is key.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Look up and down and round about you!” - John Muir

Levels and layers beyond what the eye can readily see. Natural occurrences that are a wonder to behold. Coastal overcast with the finest of mists above. Temp ready and steady at 52F and winds are not present presently. Fading swells still with capacity to move water and stir emotions. Healthy contingent of wall jockeys discussing the finer points while determined sliders file past and make a splash.

CHANNEL: Tide on the rise and already on the full side. NW swell on the wane with steeper angled insurgents seeking an entry point. All sandbars are groomed and primed. Insider avenues seem to hold the most potential in the moment but looking beyond the norm may unlock new secrets.

PATCH:  New brew and blend this morning with the evening action now a fond memory. S swell not nearly as motivated as the data might indicate but the true Loggers know the routine and have settled the colony. Favorable tides let you make the decision at any time but the crowd grows at the hours tick by.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Unnecessary possessions are unnecessary burdens.” - Peace Pilgrim

Shrouded in mystery as deep fog descends and hovers. Data charts show levered options and filling tides. Swells of magnitude are among the seas. 52F and still no winds. The search for the long-tailed weasel and common marmot resumes under reckless conditions. Forge ahead with bravery and determination into the great unknown trusting in your abilities and equipment to serve you well.

CHANNEL: Incoming tides with the ability to push wide ranges of water have the Mali-Bo inside rights awash with foam. All other areas remain indeterminate as landmarks are invisible in the lack of early visuals.

PATCH:  New SW swell may be signalling its arrival as evidenced by unsheathed logs and parked vehicles. Those heading West disappear into the mists and will hopefully return with tales to tell of epic rides. Elevated consistency has been the norm and it is likely continuing.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Every moment has its pleasure and its hope.” - Jane Austen

Fevered pitch prevails as a sturdy WNW swell arrives while our SW vacates. Overcast skies and temps cooled out to 47F and yet again no winds to ruffle. Predictions of sun and mild temps should hold true to form and surf picks up a bit here and drops there. Suits damp from evening activities are again donned as the determined delve to defeat fatigue and replace with stoke and revelry.

CHANNEL:  High and mid tides are the daily submissions and validated for the new peaking NW swell. Not quite too much water and only a slight depletion to keep it even keeled and readily accessible. Bigger boards are better suited for advance paddling speeds and early entry on the outer bar. Smaller sleds seem content to sit inside along the Groin and find contentment in the left handed offerings.

PATCH:  Expanding moon and visible Mars are you guides this day. SW swell of short stature but long period may have staying power if not quite the size of yesterday. Peaking morning tide just full enough to give some backwash wobbles then settling in for tolerable heights. A smoothness that gives pause with shape of small almonds. LoggerJammer notions can be fulfilled and maybe a speed run along the inside during the PM hours.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Don’t be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Brittle grey skies with evaporating clouds my yet give way to sunshine and clarity. Mild and tranquil with temp at 52F and no winds are blowing. Mid-week drifters find suitable accommodations and seas to their liking on the pass through. Again all tides remain high or higher with little change or re-calibration. Remainders from the N, S and W fuel the day while precursor pulses of coming energy stoke the buzz.

CHANNEL:  Wider swaths of breaker incitement may be the forefront edge of coming swell from the WNW. Most remain content to sit outside and wait while the resourceful sea squirrel collects his acorns on the inner bar. Waist high or better after moderate intervals.

PATCH:  Enough tide to work all day. Still some S swell to keep it interesting. Leading edges from the NW adding to the mix. Sliders outnumbered early by those wielding carbon fiber lances. Worth the effort if you homestead a peak and make it yours.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Be yourself; everyone else is taken.” - Oscar Wilde

Clear blue with rainbow pink skies and the sun is poking out to say hello. Calm and cold as temps are starting out at 50. Birds chatter amongst friends as neighborhood kitty cats dart to cross the street. Parking is plenty as most are heading the other way over the hill. Walking out from the chilly shadow onto the sea wall an instant warmth blankets around those who are watching and waiting.

CHANNEL:  Blinding sun reflections off the waters surface causing eyes to sting and squint. Slight on-shore breeze tickles white water into foamy spray. SW and NW swell readings on the buoys though not translating well into waves. Sets slowly approaching and turning over in the knee height and a little mushy without a shoulder. One lone warrior treading hard to find the right position.

PATCH:  Confusion over not knowing whether to go left, right or straight. Bring your nifty protractor to measure angles and do the math. A straight angle is the same as half the circle and it’s 180 degrees. Whereas a right angle is a quarter circle and is 90 degrees.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever.” - Walt Disney

Substantial gusty wind breaks the silence as the orange sherbet sun rises in all her glory. Fallen tree debris scattered on streets and a tepid air temp at 55. A brand new week has begun and some are hoping to change the same morning routine with salty water fun. Walking down the ramp to the right and onto the wall, blinding sun rays warms faces as eyes squint for a glance.

CHANNEL:  Back spray off reflection waves as the wind has decided to join in on the fun. SW and NW swell still visible in the ocean motion, though much less in size. Off shore wind causing direction confusion with white water back spray. Waves slugging through at thigh high and so far no takers.

PATCH:  Crumbled left over bread crumbs from yesterday’s baked goods are being served at half price. It’s a good deal for a Monday and the line is short for takers. I hear there will be a two for one by this afternoon.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Yours is the light by which my spirit’s born: you are my sun, my moon, and all my stars.” - e.e. cummings

Muted gray overlays with hints of pink and blue. A pelican parade marches overhead in perfect formation as two sailboats have scored perfect prime parking. Those rolling in on four wheels, are left waiting for open spaces as before dawn risers have secured the spots. The change out shuffle has begun and will continue all day, as mother nature has heeded our calls. Take turns, be kind to your neighbor and remember we are all visitors in the ocean.

CHANNEL:  Tide is high, though reading low and crashing up the boat ramp making for a difficult approach. SW and NW swell in full effect with set waves clocking in at chest high. Less organized than yesterday with a slight textured surface. Lefts and rights to be had for all sleds in shapes and sizes. Use extreme caution when getting in and out of the water.

PATCH:  There’s a new Rainbow Warrior in town passing out green shakas left and right to everyone in celebration. Feel the positive vibe and feed off the energy as you make the sharp drop to turn left or right. Tired arms and sore backs are on tap for those who try for just one more.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The real trouble with the world, too many people grow up.” - Walt Disney

Scrape of wax, blare of stereo, rev of engine and un-muted conversations. Skies have cleared and sun appears. Temp cools out to 46F. Parking has diminished and the cycle repeats. Swells remain stable and activated. Tide swings throughout the day are minimal though water levels generally remain high. All manner of slider races to the water’s edge to then contemplate and converse again.

CHANNEL:  Enough juice to squeeze out another glass with NW windswell and SW swell providing the thrust. A fine little sandbar has lefts enabled and lengthy rides available. Size not overwhelming and in the waist high range as an average. Short, mid, long and prone boards taking to the water to see what’s good.

PATCH:  Mid tide seems to be the ticket and re-focuses energies in abiding locations. S swell has shifted a bit for the better and releases relevant breakers that may reach chest high at times. Well outside past the meeting rock you will find the bigger drops then gutless travels. In the middle region there is room to run and speed to burn though size decreases by a measure. All for some and some for all if you bring the bigger board and leave the shorties in the Channel.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Realize that everything connects to everything else.” - Leonardo da Vinci

Lean though clean with humble swells blending to provide. Skies are clearing and tinted blue with sunshine already present and accounted for. Temp cooled a bit to 48F but wind chill is zero as gusts are calmed. Low tides are high and high tides are higher through the weekend so generally softened but worth a look and a dip at undetermined intervals.

CHANNEL:  Still NW windswell remainders powering through and sending breakers. The outside deep bar is the seduction yet the inside left hits the sweet spot time and time again. Pick your poison and drink it with gusto. Pool or pond - either is good.

PATCH:  SW swell numbers trending up and West though not translating to epic outcomes. Still a fair bit of bumps that dump and shortened rides but bring the bigger log to slide the relaxed offerings. Incoming tide may help with a bit of extra juice and waves for all is the daily motto.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the greatest intention.” - Khalil Gibran

Patchy skies in many shades of grey. Lightening in the East yet sun currently remains evasive. No winds and temp offset at 56F. Lessened swells still out there in smaller doses and determined to fulfill dreams. A small lot of early risers finding the incoming tide able to push enough to succeed in moving foam forwards.

CHANNEL:  Swell reorganizing and not finding a primary outlet for completion. Smaller lefts on the inner bars are the cleaner options but require the bigger board to provide momentum. Outer arena messy but enticing with hopes of more yet frequently delivering the less.

PATCH:  Reduction by a measure but still able to conjure an emotional connection. SW swell looks to have some growth potential especially on the rising tide. Eventually too much water will propagate the backwash so pick and choose your timing with care today.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"It’s not what we profess but what we practice that gives us integrity.” - Francis Bacon

Refreshed weather pattern with overnight light drizzle and now NW windy and lightly overcast. High humidity and temp of 58F. Lot filling back up as a conjured NW swell arrives and lingering SW swell remains. Salmon again bite and the horizon shows those seeking the early catch. Low tide quiescence with a big fill coming. A bit churned with wind chop texture but slides can be found and stoke revived.

CHANNEL:  Out the back it seems calmed and allowing for new energies to encroach. Sliders biding time waiting for a cleaner piece to ply the trade. Easy morning access on the low tide though afternoon may be a challenge and a later rip will well develop. Insider action more messy than organized and most water seems splashed and dashed rather than ridden.

PATCH:  Stirred but not deterred with a hearty morning crew marching forth and paddling deep. Inside rocks just now disappearing under the watery rises and swell combos are not ideal but directionally fluent enough to get the message across the seas.

"I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my desitnation.” - Jimmy Dean

Blankets of thick heavy fog and falling sprinkles are an old familiar sight to see. Cooler temps to start with 52 and the sun has pressed the snooze button. Empty parking as weekday routines are back to the regularly scheduled programs. More going out of town than towards the sea, as school buses wonder over the hill behind commuting vehicles. Walking on damp roads to where the sand meets the salty sea, fishing boat beacon lights bob up and down leading the way. Take a glimpse and take a breath in silence.

CHANNEL:  Big swings in tides today leaving the boat ramp wet and slippery. NW and WNW swell having an internal conflict resulting in seasickness commotion. Choppy and lumpy on the surface with little clean push and waves moving forward at knee height. One lone water worshiper out in prone position.

PATCH:  Lumpy and chunky, kinda like cake batter that hasn’t been stirred all the way and poured into a pan. Not able to cook all the way through with burnt edges, that not even frosting can disguise. Ya, it’s kinda like that.

"The greatest source of happiness is the ability to be grateful at all times.” - Zig Ziglar

Steaming mist rising up from below as blazing sun beams shine through. Peering over sun shades making the final turns towards town, as school buses make their daily pick up rounds. Calm and warm with temps starting at 57 and climbing high towards afternoon. More cars heading in than out and parking is already taken by those lucky enough to be out of the office. Rejoice in the beauty and be kind, say hello and make a new friend.

CHANNEL:  Rising NW tide coming in quick with some ruffled surfaces mixed with white water. Off shore breeze at bay for now as waves roll in at about thigh high. Smaller in size than days past and still plenty of rides to be had on sleds and logs. Use hands signals and remember to discuss who has priority.

PATCH:  Come one, come all……some choose sleds and some choose to sit or stand and most are happy with the ends result. High fives and smiling faces on groups of neoprene new found friends left and right.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Keep your face towards the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you.” - Walt Whitman

Ocean breeze running through trees waving to welcome the blazing sun. Crystal clear blue horizon with a warm temp starting at 60, with most questioning why they aren’t cold. Parking at capacity as the early morning arrivals drive around and wait. Coffee chats taking place left and right as bursts of wind tussle hair and tear up eyes. Sundays are not always a day of rest for the wicked.

CHANNEL:  Blinding sun reflections bouncing off the oceans surface, leaving questions unanswered. Feeling the warmth and vibe, go with your gut and true instincts. Join the crowd and settle in the pack as the NW and S swell put on a show with waves clocking in chest high. Off shore wind is strong, creating back spray off the top with texturized surfaces. Practice surf etiquette and wave knowledge.

PATCH:  Eenie, meenie, miney, mo……catcha wave fast and ride the flow. Hear them holler and watch them go. Eenie, meenie, miney, mo. My mother said to pick the very best one and you are going to be it.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The longer we dwell on our misfortunes, the greater is their power to harm us.” - Voltaire

Rise along with the multitude who have brought everyone to the beach. Parking at a standstill and early traffic congestion as the sun rises. The object of all desire exists but not in its finest form though swells continue to flow and the fundamentals are laid. Skies are sunny and clear with morning wind that does blow and whip at times. Temp a righteous 59F and tide swings will have their say in who gets a wave and when.

CHANNEL:  Welcoming lefts better suited to the inside bars as the tide is elevating to its peak. Outside rollers for the opportunistic on bigger boards with water levels keeping is softened. Shortboard jockeys still benefiting if they align properly but mid-lengths and longboards remain the optimal choice of sled. Plenty of little peaks that may find chest high dimensions and winds have a bit of off shore tilt to the gusts.

PATCH:  Take your turn. Never burn. Look both ways before you go. Mind your manners and use them judiciously. Say your prayers. Say you’re sorry. Say please and thank you and may I have another. Realize the beauty. Savor and share the experience. Take a break. Snarf some dogs. Drink some coffee. Repeat.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Our life is frittered away by detail… simplify, simplify.” - Henry David Thoreau

A fine feeling of Fall with a bracing chill to the air and streaky skies above. Moon slivers, and no winds to allow for smoothness upon the waters and temp in early at 45F. Even the earliest of risers applying wax to their various sleds are faced with higher and growing tides today. Plenty of West in both swells of merit and those wishing to renew their vows with the ocean have ample reason to enter.

CHANNEL:  Soaking in the sunshine along with a peaking NW swell has would be players and slayers populating. Early rising tide providing extra propulsion and not diminishing the returns too badly. Size has come up and is unofficially measured in the chest to shoulder high range depending on body type and lighting angle. All manner of boards are attempting, some actually work.

PATCH:  Your motivation is so sweet. Your vibrations are burning up my feet. Girl I’m just a jeepster for your love. Girl I’m just a vampire for your love.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"If the path be beautiful, let us not ask where it leads.” - Anatole France

Settled calm and clean air. Rinse and spin cycles seem over and temp is 60F with the lightest of E winds. Tides are high all day keeping entry and exit potentially exciting. New and old swells co-mingle to ignite stokage and the skies may yet clear and give us sun. Center your energies and then apply them where and when necessary.

CHANNEL:  Incoming tide and new NW swell are a well suited match this morning. Deeper Channel bar lefts are creamy and delicious with capacity to move the shorter board and some wide open faces upon which to frolic. Early grom army dispatched to follow their desires before the school studies commence. High tide climax may not slow things down so keep an open eye on this locality for good measure.

PATCH:  Misted and twisted with just enough impetus to induce logger attention. Expanded horizons with higher tide and no winds. Storm flow residuals in partnership with new NW does translate to a breaker of integrity and interest.
