Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“One can make a day of any size and regulate the rising and setting of their own sun and the brightness of its shining.” - John Muir

Lo the clearing skies and chirping birds as we arise to cooler low temps but a day of magnificence to behold. A risen sun has burned off the mist and is already bestowing its warming qualities on all faces turned upwards while breezes are no issue. A rare February day of springtime visions and activities with oceanic action taken place in all spots along the corridor. Post love-fest activity already hot and heavy upon said waters.

CHANNEL: Unsettled matters with newer W swell starting the apparatus in motion. Egg and log meet with mild success as waist is the place and rides are measured in moments. Standouts have been observed and the opportunity should be seized if possible. The best is being made of outgoing tidal conditions, and it only asks the exchange of one’s time.

PATCH: Easy, breezy, steezy with a baker’s dozen + already on it. The shapes being enjoyed are reminiscent of summer swells and are happening in shallow waters that feel only feet from the river’s edge. Early etiquette lessons should be practiced or tuned up as your neighbor is likely closer than you imagine.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“But true love is a durable fire, in the mind ever burning, never sick, never old, never dead, from itself never turning.” - Walter Raleigh

A mild countenance greets us as a reprieve from the chill hold of yesterday. The skies remain overcast but elevated and the scents of spring and tangible love are in the air. Again our temp starts at 52F but predicted to rise to the occasion and offer a hint of warmth. Tide swings are calming yet start the morning on the lower end of the spectrum with gradual additions to be made throughout the day. Stalwarts and usual faces and places let us know that some things in this world are right and worth the effort.

CHANNEL: 4 stand, 4 sit, 4 wait for delivery which comes sporadically and without much form nor function. A dearth of water is the issue and the slow refill will hopefully refuel the stoke search in earnest.

PATCH: A lone lady slider finds comfort in the absolute quietude that exists among single solitary waves. Sheet glass and just enough oomph to propel expansive logs forward towards shore.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Nature knows no indecencies; man invents them.” - Mark Twain

An aggrieved sky and retrograde tide makes themselves known this early morning. The sun is but a mystery and may remain elusive today. A calm stillness prevails but under coastal clouds with a temp humidity laden at 52F. The tidal drainage is near complete and offers little variance as to available options. Parking exists as a corollary function relative to swell and water levels. As the tide grows the seekers will come and enough energy exists in the watery realm to find suitable stokage.

CHANNEL: A cadre of sliders sit upon unclear futures as the offer up items are discounted for quick sale. Shapes appear quickly and before reactions take place, are gone into a miasma of blue emotion. Let not these facts deter you, as forms of consequence are priming for the post lunch partition upon the incoming tide.

PATCH: The weekday faithful have gathered to commiserate as the breakers are lacking in size though formed without question. Traffic congestion is not an issue as most play the waiting game to strike like the cobra at first formidable glance. Eventually the fit will be right and everyone will find their way.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“If you can believe it, the mind can achieve it.” - Ronnie Lott

Golden yellow Sun rising above shining bright, encompassing everything she touches with vibrant warmth. Warm to begin the glorious day at 58 with projected climbing to 72. Criss-cross applesauce perched upon the wall, ocean worshipers sit in solitude while gazing out to sea. Calm and glassy the surface mirrors the sun’s brilliance with a slight hint of white crumbles. No matter the size nor shape, a beautiful day indeed!

CHANNEL: Mellow yellow reflections from the shining sun glistening on a calm surface as W swell is taking a break this morning. Ankle bitters and shin slappers in Channel proper as two friends are out playing. Tidal swings at a slower pace then days past with less current movement. No matter, for it’s Summer in Winter!

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Don’t stop when you’re tired; stop when you’re done.” - Marilyn Monroe

Angled leaning, heads resting on wire, the sun feeds vitamin D to those who are gazing. The wind has calmed, leaving without a trace while the ocean’s surface smooths, stretching far and wide. Warm temps to begin this morning, at 54 with clear blue overhead and sharp shadows following close behind. The beginning of a new week with a hint of Spring in the air.

CHANNEL: Ebb and flow of highs and lows with little in between, the key focus for today’s activities. NW swell rolling in the usual pace as angles have shifted with the sand bars. In coming tide creating knee slides in Channel proper with one peak currently breaking. If you haven’t already joined the 5 currently out, the afternoon shift has available openings.

PATCH: Slightly ruffled, seagulls bob for salty morning treats. No sign from the meeting rock, for dark blue covers the craggy top. Practice patience with deep breaths and try again this afternoon.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.” - Nelson Mandela

Windy beginnings, leaf blowing and tree bending, while the sun bids good morning and the Snow Moon sets to sleep for now. Sleepy and calm, our village awakes to Spring in February as temps begin at 54 and climb to 62 by afternoon. Tidal swings at a dizzily pace leaving one small window of possibility. With water creeping up the ramp, not receding till high noon, the wind will remain in place and dance on the surface all day.

CHANNEL: High tide reaching unexpected levels early, as the ramp is slowly consumed. Wind is strong and steady, leaving lumpy surfaces and white water churning with the currents. A small pack fighting against the wind seek serenity right of the pole and expend paddle arms to stay in position. One and done in the knee height is the name of the game.

PATCH: Invisible forces of nature churning surfaces into blue and white zig-zag patterns. One soul seeker hunched over with his trident in hand, digging down for traction. Forward motion to shore is the goal if only the wind would play along.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“We are the opening verse of the opening page of the chapter of endless possibilities. ” - Rudyard Kipling

Another day mindful of spring as we gaze upon sun-dappled ridgelines. The winds do not blow, the skies are cleared and the temp restarts at 49F. Those with fiberglass under their arms have a bounce in their steps as they travel the lane to aquatic bliss. A pushing tide lends a helping hand as W swells seek to gain anchor upon our shores. Glistening mini peaks abound and longboards are the correct tool to enact slides.

CHANNEL: Tide pushing high and nigh up against walls of stone and concrete. What appears on the horizon gaining momentum quickly dissolves into the depths and nucleus of the sea. Rides are fleeting and of less length and consequence than hoped for. Less water and the passing of time may benefit the area but patience waits for no one.

PATCH: Outer Patch dwellers find reason to make the journey as W swell flows easily over the reef and settles in for the morning. While the inner regions beg a modest glance it is outside where the stoke will be found. The offerings are meek but nourishing in a way only a slider will understand.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Flexibility is the key to stability. ” - John Wooden

A discernible chill requiring an extra layer as a moistened fog lingers. Sun breaking through the clearing skies to abolish the damp and raise the roof for celebrations. Incoming high water volumes and depreciating swell represent the shapes the morning proffers. The pursuit of stoke is real but is truly an undertaking in patience this day. The afternoon will offer even less in all aspects with aquatic levels below zero and then some. Keep the faith and be strong in your resolve to slide.

CHANNEL: Mild successes in neoprene dresses for those willing and able to veer right rather than allemande left. Unusual places for familiar faces with angle origin and sandbar configuration an ever evolving mystery. There may be quality in these slides with only one way to find out.

PATCH: A quartet of hopefuls cast their shadows upon molehill breakers and wait for action. Those standing tall with carbon paddles have the advantage and even they suffer lack of locomotion. Meager offerings to make the most of is the motto of the day. Slow, low, classic Bo.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Do your little bit of good where you are. ” - Desmond Tutu

Cool and easy with temps hovering in the low 40s during the early hours of morning. Clear skies with sun beginning to warm the airs and light SE winds to put a slight ruffle on the waters. Spring is surely on the way but no additional gifts have been brought to the table as the tide continues to fill in and rise up the boat ramp. Swells on the margins are eliciting hope of slides but the charts must be consulted or you will find too much or not enough water to make curls hold up to expectations.

CHANNEL: A determined duo mines the Channel rights on the incoming tide and seeks justice among uneven seas. The results seem palpable with slides given and rides taken along the far reaches of potential. Now with the outgoing tide one hopes the forms reshape while water is present for the afternoon hours hold the lowest of lows.

PATCH: Slightly forlorn and breeze blown with knee slaps to consider. Currently empty of seekers and sliders but water levels are optimal if your goal is to avoid protruding rocks. The slightest of S swells is evidenced and production of rideable rights are few but existent.

Frosted beginnings now yielding to an unbroken winter sun ready for action. Temps have risen to 49F and the winds are still and calm. Rising souls make their way to the water’s edge to witness slight shapes and shadows emerging from the deep. Parking is available and the vibe is chill in all aspects. The tide has lurched up boat ramps in the early hours and will now slowly recede through the afternoon. There are glimpses of goodness and hope springs eternal that stoke lays in store for all.

CHANNEL: A peaked high tide has the Channel filled to max capacity of aquatic brine yet only lightly engaged with sliders on the prowl. There are possibilities but they are not endless and will require one to bring a log of length and breadth. Thigh slaps and soft pats are offered and worth taking advantage of now and on the outgoing tide.

PATCH: Ramps of a discernible size shape themselves before dissolving back into the depths. As the seas pull back one hopes these shapes can format themselves for lengthy rides, but that, as all things, remains to come to fruition.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Human greatness does not lie in wealth or power, but in character and goodness. People are just people, and all people have faults and shortcomings, but all of us are born with a basic goodness. ” - Anne Frank

Cold roads pave the way to the light at the end of the boat ramp. The shaded street turns to paradise with just a few stumbling downward steps. Bright beams bringing a squint to your eyes, and a warmth to your face that is impossible to turn and deny. A brisk breeze stays alive through the night and into the new day. Predictions set their estimate at 20mph winds this afternoon. Empty skies are reflected by empty waters. For a moment, you see no one, and no one but God sees you.

CHANNEL: Lonely lefts break their way through over the sand bar. The finish line is shallow, and there’s not much room to play. Wind playing a factor here today, as well as a dropping tide.

Currently 55F with the sun holding its place in the sky, meanwhile cross shore winds predicted around 20mp has kept the masses away.

Radiating masses and mini muscular canines roam the beaches on the stoke hunt while an early deceptive chill looms over a beautiful sunrise. Mid 40s at present though clearing and preparing for NE breezes. Small shapes abound and while slightly textured they bring relative joy to the faces the receive first viewings. Slight undulations to the tidal changes makes for extended hope and double session allowances today.

CHANNEL: Thigh high peaks are illuminated and pleasures can be found under properly adhered to circumstances. A bit ruffled from evening winds though recuperating nicely and should be in fine form shortly. Hardly a day of legend but with a careful eye, slides will be found.

PATCH: I’ve been waiting, anticipating. I’ve been dreaming, traced out but dreaming. The sun comes up, the blisters burn my soul. I’m dreaming of something now, something now. Of the rising, the nature’s dry, and all the groovy ones come.

Teary and bleary under risen skies that welcome sunlit clarity and airy warmth. A manic streak runs under neoprene feet as sliders race to enter the domain. Again the westerly swells dominate the outlook and forecast and are finding our shores through new unscripted routes. The immediate future is yours to enjoy for the next moment remains un-promised with endless possibilities.

CHANNEL: Under the watchful eye of the steel pole and in the company of seagulls, small whitewater crumbles in. Backlit by crisp sunlight and forming a stunning visual though mostly vacant of sliders once the focus returns to the sea.

PATCH: A dozen or so of the decidedly dogged seek the stoke from the classic Bo go slow and low. Slight rights to the inside are being enjoyed though as the tide drops mind the rearing rocks. Outer realm lefts have been revived by lingering N swell wrapping in along the reef contours. Let’s shake our booties down by the docks for it was there this happened to us all.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Blessed are the cracked, for they shall let in the light.” - Groucho Marx

A lifted fog will yield to hidden sunshine and the temps already range to 59F. The tidal swings are not an impediment with moderate changes going mostly unnoticed. Approach and exit routes pose no challenges save for cracks in the pavement and ramp shafts to navigate. Again we look due W for our savior in hopes he delivers what must be ours this day.

CHANNEL: The lone sentinel casts a long shadow as the early indicators point towards a time for quiet reflection and self assessment. Shapes and motion are palpable, but again, the quality of nourishment is in question. If you are to unearth a gem from the stoke mine, the patience of a monk will be required.

PATCH: The outer reaches are patrolled but the usual suspects as paddles cut through humid airs. Those employing mere shoulder and hand will not fare as well with the early offerings suffering from low tide blues. The winds remain slack as a saving grace yet the exposed reef blocks energy entry. A discerning eye and careful timing may help to fuel the belly fire.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Life isn’t a matter of milestones, but of moments.” - Rose Kennedy

Heavy drizzle falling from thick sheets of gray as tire tracks sizzle on concrete. No wind in sight as silence can be felt near and far though our tiny village. Parking is plenty though most huddle indoors, waiting for the weather to turn; fingers crossed for this afternoon. From atop the wall, sights of swell a faded memory as storm churn is all that remains. Not a soul out on land or at sea as most intentions are focused elsewhere.

CHANNEL: White water churn in Channel proper with little shape to the right. Ruffled and disturbed, the surface is anything but glassy yet not blown out. A some what wave shape in the knee height can be seen yet not enough push to carry over thus far. Try and wait for another peak this afternoon.

PATCH: Always look to the positive and never drop your head. For the water will engulf is if we do not dare to tread. So let’s tread water.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.” - Kobe Bryant

Thick gray fog, mimicking sprinkled rain with soggy bottoms under foot and deep dampness everywhere. A chill start to begin at 49 with temps rising not beyond 57 with a hopeful hint of sun by late afternoon. Swell remains higher than customary with parking fuller than usual with those whom are sneaking one more in before it’s all but a faded memory. Socked in, the horizon line hides behind a thick veiled gray while the first sign of forward movement suddenly appears out front, before quickly crumbling into white.

CHANNEL: Seemingly slow moving to the naked eye, though turning over fast, right of the pole to the ramp, waves stack up with a smooth face for a second or two before dumping over. Sand bars creating the foundation for beach break smackers in the waist height. Sharp angled tack-offs a must if rides are the mission and goal.

PATCH: Flooded and swollen, angled energy lining up yet never really turn over. A mirage for the half dozen currently out, who are missing the final ingredient to the secret sauce. Sometimes waiting for a moment or two for the movement to come is better than chasing a dream.
