Daily Surf Report - 6/23/2011

Sunny and beautiful morning with some light puffs of wind. Temp is 56F and we expect temps to reach into the 70s again. Ocean lightly textured but there are fun waves to be had.

Channel: Waves are mostly lefts and breaking in the thigh to almost waist high size. Working at the Groin and Channel bars with surfers in the water all on longboards. Smaller boards can still work on the inside but longboards will work best.

Patch: Small south swell in the water with waves in the waist high range on the better ones. Lots of long rights all the way to the inside. Tide is dropping but there is enough water now with kelp balls on the inside and a few rocks exposed. 4 longboarders the water sharing the waves.

6/19/2011 @ 2:00 pm - a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter spotted a 10' long great white shark 200 - 300 yards off Stinson Beach. The shark was headed south according to the Coast Guard, so a warning was issued. Stinson Beach will remain open and people will be allowed to wade in the water, but lifeguards will stop people from going into deeper water through Thursday. If there are no more sightings the rest of the week, the deeper waters will be reopened by Friday.

Beginner surfboard SALE! 2-Mile Surf Shop is still making room for new inventory and clearing out some USED foam and Softop boards. Perfect to learn and practice your surfing on. These are the same boards we use to teach surf lessons.

Isle SoftDeck Surfboards:
The Isle SoftDeck epoxy surfboards are built in a standard ECORE epoxy construction then wrapped with a 1/4 inch supersoft EVA foam decking on the top deck and rails. The soft deck has built in traction with no wax needed. You get a real epoxy surfboard with a soft deck so your ride is nearly identical to what you would experience on a regular epoxy surfboard. And you also get the extreme durability of epoxy construction so you can be confident they will hold up against the wear and tear of the beginner surfer.
