In-store Shaper Event:
David Vernor, the man behind Vernor surfboards, will be in the shop this Saturday, 3/16/2013, from 10am to 12pm. This is a great opportunity to talk boards and design with a local shaper. Dave will bring a few new shapes including the Pitbull and Silver Bullet 2. Come by to talk surf or browse the rack of in-stock boards. We have Mini Simmons, shortboards, hybrids, eggs, Mini-Mals, HP longboards and Classic Noseriders in the shop. Always hand-made from start to finish in Santa Cruz.
Good day to all of you with good surfing intentions. We still have a little bit of patchy fog lingering here at the beach but it should burn off soon enough. The air temp is loping in at 47 degrees but it has warmed up to the mid 70's here the past few days and I see no reason why it shouldn't do the same today. The surf is looking less than promising as both spots are near flat, HOWEVER one never knows with this place as the day progresses. If a wave or two should show up later in the day I'll be sure to give each and every one of you an update..... here on the blog.
CHANNEL: It's about shin-to-knee high here right now as it's gurgling over a semi-exposed sand bar. Nothing to really ride here yet though two (2) humanoids with questionable judgement are bobbing out there right now and not doing much else... 'cept bobbing.
PATCH: Same as above except the rocks are exposed and grinning with those board dinging teeth. Sure, the tide is incoming and those rocks will soon be lurking just beneath the waters surface but with no push behind it there will be even less than ankle high gurglers. Could be the day to get a Janitor board and tool around the lagoon and what not. No one here except a fisherman as I write this.
PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. Respect the Beach.

WINTER HOURS are now in effect. We are now open daily from 10am - 5pm from NOVEMBER through APRIL. Come out to rent if you need gear. We have a full selection of suits, boots, boards, and SUPs to rent every day and are only 522 steps to the beach.
Lots of NEW and USED boards are in the racks so come check it out. Full wetsuits, 3 and 5mm booties, hoods and gloves are in stock as well. If you are in need of a new suit or board now is a great time to shop. We have all the gear for your cold water surfing needs.
