Calm, overcast and peaceful morning in beautiful West Marin. Temp is 59F and sun should be out mid-morning with mild temps as well. Very smooth and nearly flat ocean today. What little S swell is out there seems to be missing us this time. It is still a nice beach day and waves will pop up from time to time so surfing is still a possibility.

CHANNEL: Fully exposed sand bars this morning as peak LOW tide occurs. A congregation of surfers and SUPs in a tight pack on the Channel bar. If I could only be a fly on the wall right now. Not much surfing going on but probably lots of interesting conversations. 1 knee high left came through that was attacked by all. Much more tide is required and may help but that wont be until later today. BIG board is most necessary. Or communicate with nature and throw your cares and gear away. Hit the inside bars with the seals and learn to swim and body surf with the masters.

PATCH: Smooth and glassy and lake-like. Nearly flat with a very small and very inside right in the calf high size being surfed by 3 in the water. Plenty of exposed rocks this morning but more tide and the potential for the S swell to show keeps hope alive. Check it later when the tide fills in. Bring the BIGGEST board.

Adult Surf Camp will be offered from August 12th to August 15th for $320 per person. Camp will last from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm and will include over 3 hours of instruction per day. Students will receive instruction on the beach and in the water and have the opportunity to surf both of the breaks in Bolinas in a range of tides and conditions. Adult Surf camps are the perfect way to quickly improve your surfing skills or learn the basics. Camp size is kept small (4 to 6 people) to ensure students receive the personal attention needed to improve. Advanced registration is required to attend and you can sign up HERE. Surf equipment (board, wetsuit and boots) will be available to rent from the 2 Mile Surf Shop for your clinic and will be $50/day
