Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me." - Jim Valvano

Happy Fathers day to all and happy Sunday. Beautiful day to sleep in and for endless naps. We have a sleepy morning upon us seeming to wake up slowly as the fog still lingers and the mist is still hanging around. As for the water, what is still remaining during this low tide is barely keeping the beach wet. Plenty of sand exposed for your daily beach activities but hardly enough water to support the hopes of many surfers.

CHANNEL: Take your hopes of being stoked some place else. Too much sand. Not enough water. No waves. Low tide killing any chance to enjoy a ride on any shape you own. Mostly flat with a bit of backwash coming from inside the channel.

PATCH: Tread lightly and watch where you step! Low tide has rocks fully exposed with all of their stinging glory. A bit of swell on the outside calling for the few lone logs catching what they can. Looks like hardly enough push to support your average human. Big boards and small corgis will do best.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
“Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly." - Langston Hughes

Perma-mist as we relish in the foggy landscape once again.  A unnerving brightness in the air seems to signal a shift in perception and possibly a warming trend and return to sunny times.  For now we start the day shrouded in miasma and mystery yet open to all possibilities.  Temp holding steady at 54F and light southerly winds presently.  Bottoming tide and fading swells have ISD on temporary hold.  Fear not as we have a board sale going on today and the afternoon tide push will give you the means you require to stay stoked.

CHANNEL:  Endless expanses of sand have Corgi counters out surveying seascapes not usually visible to the naked eye.  Rippy and trippy as low tide combines with exposed sand to create a field of horrors unworthy of slides or smiles.  Even the most salty of fishermen are giving the Channel a wide berth as it reveals nothing palatable at this time.  Have faith and hope as the incoming tide will push through and allow for weak waves to wash away the tears and renew one's faith in the sport of kings.  For now it will be hot black tea and time consuming inland pursuits until water levels reach a more optimum level.

PATCH:  A savage morning with paddle wielding hopefuls valiantly searching for a bump upon which their tortured strokes may prevail.  Turbulent and textured from wind yet not yielding the prize we all currently seek.  Much too low of tidal levels to allow for any swell to permeate this realm.  Only a rock strewn expanse upon which to gaze as for now the morning remains quiet and a time better spent under blankets with deep and meaningful literature.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why." - Mark Twain

A welcoming orb shines down upon us this morning.  Despite chill temps of 52F and no wind the promise of warmth is emerging as we contemplate the unfolding day.  No tide vibes got the surf jones on hold for now.  Other factors include a lack of swell offerings making for a morning funk off to a slow start oceanic-ally.  There are other endeavors worth undertaking but they will require a thought process beyond our abilities today.

CHANNEL:  Shattered dreams as outgoing tide mixes with no swell to turn this area into a foamy mess of sands and whitewater spillage.  No takers and no offerings for good reason as all factors align for negativity.  Toe ticklers at best just off the Groin bar but not fit for human consumption at this time.  Afternoon tide push may hold promise for later slides and winds have not been a factor over that last 24 hours.

PATCH:  A traumatized tribunal in session well outside the exposed meeting rock as smooth surfaces mix with furious paddles and long periods of rest.  A determined trio has this location on lockdown with all surfable waves shut off due to severe low tide.  More water is needed in many respects and here remains drought parched and rock exposed.  Micro-sliders may appear as the day wears on but many hours must pass before the aquatic levels reach numbers above 1.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
“Have patience. All things are difficult before they become easy." - Saadi

June gloom remains firmly planted in our consciousness as fog surrounds the village.  Beams of light are fighting the good battle and hints of blue may be just on the horizon.  Winds remain slack and have caressed the ocean surface into a silky canvas on which to play.  Temp is a disarming 55F with radiating promise of higher scores. A vicious low tide has acres of exposed sand and rocks yet the meager offerings from the NW and S have things just above flat in terminal height.

CHANNEL:  Fully exposed sandspit has surfers lined up like lemmings to take their turn on the small rights breaking off in the Channel.  Smooth ocean is inviting yet lacks the volume to precipitate much more than the current knee-cappers.  While swell numbers are lacking, more water may be the key to unlock this secret today.

PATCH:  A glassy surface upon which to gaze wistfully and contemplate the future.  All rocks on board and outspoken in their exposed pride this morning.  A small piece of negligible surf can be experienced well outside but the cost analysis of the effort has not been fully calculated.  An empty playing field upon which a jovial few may soon partake.  Currently yielding nothing to harvest but the ground remains frustratingly fertile.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
“It was when I figured out I could make mistakes that I knew I was on to something." - Ornette Coleman

In what seems a series of endless numbered days, this morning reveals the same dense fog and deep grey skies as so many others. The zephyrs are gentle this early, though they will not remain so as day grows late. Though there seems more activity on the blacktop than in mornings immediately previous, with various states of neoprene donning observed, one has to wonder if it is not all in vain, as the sea's bounty is currently not on offer, as those seeking nourishment find only a buffet of rock and stone, with yards of exposed sand as an aperitif.

CHANNEL:  The marker by which so many navigate stands only surrounded by sand at this early hour, a sentinel warning against shipwreck or fin damage. Thought a flock of pelicans is enjoying thermal zephyr rides, they are alone this morning, as not even the tribe o' the paddle seeks stoke and smiles. Though an increase in water levels may reveal shapes, one needs to understand that they may well be of little consequence.

PATCH: A lone warrior yields composite paddle and puts furious efforts into what is clearly a futile pursuit. Exposed rock and craggy points are in every direction, and the beach extends lengths into the sea. As noted, the tides determine the fate and potential this day, so be sure to maintain an outlook of promise, observe the charts and times, and arrive and find your lines.

Important Note from the Bolinas Fishing Community:
When heading out the Channel,  the fishing boats have a very narrow slot to navigate and the fishermen have to "thread the needle" to avoid having their boats dumped by waves. The boats don't have the ability or opportunity to veer away from oncoming waves and must take them straight on. Surfers - please practice Ocean Courtesy when boats are heading in and out of the Channel and paddle out of the boat's path to let them through. This will also help in avoiding being run over by a boat at speed.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:

“The truth is, of course, that there is no journey. We are arriving and departing all at the same time." - David Bowie

A hint of a chill and a fog of meaning reveals themselves as morning begins in the village. We gaze upon a forlorn and abandoned coastline at first light, and marvel at dozens of empty parking spaces. Though today may be a day of self-assessment and appraisal, these truths will not be revealed in current water levels. The charts and times will be the key, so keep a watchful and hopeful eye on future hours.

CHANNEL:  A resolute quiet. The almost imperceptible whistle of wind. Yards of exposed sand and bits of driftwood. This is the way, step inside.

PATCH: Tis' a telling sight when nary a mariner is observed in these waters at first light. Current  levels are providing no reason for joy in Mudville, as Casey won't even be leaving the dugout. As we approach the post luncheon portion of the day, stoke potential increases, but only in increments, so temper your expectations, and let your mind bathe in a pure positivity.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
“Civilization is like a thin layer of ice upon a deep ocean of chaos and darkness." - Werner Herzog

The fog hangs low and a deep grey holds court as we greet Monday morning.Though the potential for stoke is palpable, current levels of H2O are doing no favors and limiting action currently. It seems the usual suspects have paid no heed, however, as the parade of warriors in and out of the still waters continue unabated. Those who can locate the time and place may reap the benefits this day, but that remains to be seen. Keep a watchful eye on the lunar ebb and flow and know your time to strike.

CHANNEL:  An emptiness and despair fills one's soul as eyes turn towards the marker, as a wasteland of quiet is all that's being offered. A lone and colorful slider sits astride a log and ponders other matters, as no slides are being had. As day continues, ripples may occur, but they will be of small consequence, and sliders and riders will find what they seek elsewhere.

PATCH: Though a determined and dirty dozen are mining the breakers for stoke and salt this morn, the yield leaves much to be desired, as it seems those doing so are engaging only for the sake of doing so, as shapes and silhouette are sorely lacking. Water levels will increase and bring with it increasing potential for stoke, but those moments lie in a hazy future.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple.” - Jack Kerouac

Happy Sunday to all! Slow morning here in our little town but smiling faces are everywhere. Speaking of slow, if you plan on heading out here any time soon take it slow - a bad accident has the road backed up a ways so be cautious. Other than that today is looking like a good day to come and relax. A bit gloomy as the fog still hovers but we are praying for surf and sunshine. Hold your crystals and loved ones close today.

CHANNEL:  Slow is the word of the day. Ankle high rollers tumbling in every once in a while. Low tide is not helping us out today.  Cherished memories of what once was are all we have to keep us company today.

PATCH: Flatter than the channel. Not a shape in sight.  Perfectly pancaked and not nearly as tasty.  Breakfast will be served but not in this locale today.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
“I have wined and dined with kings and queens and I’ve slept in alleys and dined on pork and beans.” - Dusty Rhodes RIP

A pensive calm permeates the atmosphere as summer slowly kicks into gear.  Bounding bunnies and sly foxes rule the early morn and find serenity amongst the birds' sweet songs.  A warming sun has already appeared and seems ready to dispense the vitamin D.  A touch of S wind has textured the ocean surface but temps are currently 59F and on the rise.  Only trace elements of swells past remain leaving us with an unruly mix of windswells upon which to make our sliding attempts reality.  As tide pushes in our hopes are buoyed as desire currently outweighs determination.  Make of the day what you will but always keep a smile on your face.

CHANNEL:  Elementally low tide just now showing the ability to form waves.  A conglomeration of NW windswell has signaled a start to the morning flow of joyous surfers heading this direction with visions of perfection.  That shall not be found today but the sandbars are primed and what does roll over has shape if not velocity.  Knee high or better outside lefts have the ability to morph and mold their shape and materialize into inside rights.  Find the key.  Unlock the secret.  Hold it sacred and ride with purpose.

PATCH:  A touch of texture can be seen and felt yet still giving forth a ride or two to those wishing to do-si-do right.  Just enough water has returned to keep trolling rocks mostly at bay and allow for inside rollers to peak and pop along with thigh high aspirations.  A salty few giving it the evil eye while synapses pop and decisions are formulated.  Go with your gut and go with style and grace today.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
“Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power.” - Lao Tzu

A flowing mix of sun and swirling fog.  Pervasive in its ability to shape shift and mood change.  Settling in at the coast brings a thick cover disguising the glassy surfaces and undulations just out of one's vision range.  A full lot and empty racks signal a variation of the positive force.  An unknown brew of NW windswell + fading S remnants has different spots on the alert for slides today.   Temp a perpetual 57F with sunshine vibes just out of range.  Look for that which fulfills you inside and you just may find it today.

CHANNEL:  Flowing robes and tide pushing over renewed sandbars has rubber clad figurines bobbing about.  Shrouded in mist and a collective calm the morning stalwarts seek lefts of smooth approximation and lingering rides towards shore.  Inside of the Groin pole Mali-Bo begins to rise and shine and will allow for slides to the right and holding shape as well.  Size remains mysterious yet above thigh in most respects.  Realize your full potential today although don't expect anyone to acknowledge it.

PATCH:  A pushing and rising tide deploys yet another day of rideable surf here in the Northern reaches.  Inside rights may be formulated to resist rocks and roll along at nearly waist high.  Figures emerge from the mist to bob and weave with admiring glances from all sea creatures in attendance.  All is unknown today but can be revealed if only by venturing forth with determination and grit.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society.” - Theodore Roosevelt

A menacing mist hovers, lurks and leaps at every turn as we begin another day of Northern CA summer.  Bellowing roars are emitted from the foliage but not from the winds which remain calm, peaceful and slack.  Temp slinks in the back door at 57F and should hold steady and mild with sunshine an unselected option today.  What little SW swell energy remains is fading and requires the incoming tide push which will shortly reach its apex.  Still a stoked and frothy crew out to charge the early morning offerings which although height challenged still delivers slideable sled rides for your surfing enjoyment.

CHANNEL:  Incoming morning tide has things off to a meandering start as water levels slowly rise to middling levels.  The Mali-Bo bar is returning to form and seems to be shaping up as more water pushes over the top.  Workable rights that may only hit thigh high can be molded and modified to suit your needs.  Small boards can run but not hide from shallow inside conditions that make exits as fun as entrances.  Lacking in overall energy yet shaped by wind and sand - the rights just beyond the Groin pole have suitable potential and enough positivity to make suiting up a goal today.

PATCH:  Last gasps and filling tide have the weathered and wise holding court deep in the Patch depths.  The waiting game must be played and the rewards are always what you make of them.  Peeling poppers that are slopey and stalwart hit just above the thigh and yet below the waist in height. Now is the time as water levels will soon diminish and take with it the required means to make this spot pleasant and palatable.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
Poetry is a controlled refinement of sobbing." - Nicholson Baker

A rare and steady rain pulsates from the sky, and has many with quizzical looks gazing towards the heavens. Though not expected to continue the length of the day, it will certainly be the paradigm on which the morning operates, as the mercury will rise only marginally from it's current 61 degrees. Not to worry, however, as the AM crew is out in force and is currently a flurry of board bags, various states of undress, and many a lowered tailgate. They are chasing the remnants of the SSW that is providing fun, if not epic, amounts of stoke this morning. Find yourself amongst them, or don't.

CHANNEL:  Rumors and scuttlebutt of the return of the Mali-Bo bar may be closer to reality than one might surmise, as a dynamic duo who are making the most can attest this fine day. Just outside of the marker are shapes that bring thoughts of potential, if they currently lack a bit of energy behind them. As per usual, tide levels will dictate what stoke will be found here throughout the day, so be mindful. It should not surprise the keen observer to spot many forms of watercraft in this area as day grows long.

PATCH:  Oh, the many paddles seeking purchase mix with a determined dozen of logs as they pursue the same solid rollers this morn. Holding and peeling with smiles for yards, if not miles. Height is not a factor, they currently reside in a standard issue thigh-waist range, but that is a known commodity. The luncheon low will take with it most of the punch on display currently, but pre and post should keep one's chi flowing and slides going. Keep an eye out for special guests in the afternoon hours, or feel their wrath. Your choice.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
An unlocked door mean that, occasionally, you might get a devil come in, but a locked door means you have thousands of angels just walk by." - Ian MacKaye

Yet another morning that brings a nettled mist and fog just off the deck. It is the kind of morning that begs one to stay in bed and find a stillness, and yet many seafarers have other intentions. Though temps will hover only around their current mark of 58F, parking is already nil, and the neoprene-clad warriors are striding into the murk at all measures. The tide is key this day, so temper your expectations, heed the time, and remember that you exist, though that is the only quarter given.

CHANNEL:  A lone log bobs and weaves among the tumult, it is only with great patience that slides are being taken from the bounty. Though quiet offerings are being observed, shapes of note are largely absent, and it is only those seeking penance and redemption who find solace here.

PATCH:   This is where the tribe is called and is gathered this day, as traffic into, and out of the waters is thick and fierce. Solid outside rights are being enjoyed and smiles are visible, even on the most surly mugs. There are inside offerings as well, though they will require a detailed eye to find and savor. The waters are already beginning to recede, so find your time and get in line, and remember, there are no judges noting score. What is possible is what is done. That is all there is.

In memory, everything seems to happen to music." - Tennessee Williams

An intense and eerie mix patch of dense fog and bright, blinding rays of light as we gaze seaward just past dawn.  This should pass, as all the makings for a beautiful summer day are in the blender and are being prepared. Take heed if you attempt slides in the early hours, as one can easily miss the slider mere feet from you, as visibility is currently that low. The tide will be soon as well, making current conditions, and those much later in the day what you seek to feed your needs.

CHANNEL:  An inside left is currently providing stoke to a single mariner this morn, although the quality of this ride leaves something to be desired, as closeout, last call vibes seem to be the dominant paradigm upon closer inspection. The vectors directly out from the ramp show empty shapes oddly free of logs and log-jammers, but water levels answer those queries quickly enough. Space is the place, just not this particular space.

PATCH:   A patchwork of the usual suspects is relying on instinct and muscle memory to attempt rides and slides currently, as sight cannot be trusted. Those voices one is hearing are not yelps of stoke and success, but are being used to alert others of one's whereabouts, and/or the location of exposed rock. A solid inside shape is being enjoyed, but timing is key, and keen wits are a strict requirement. Enjoy it now, or wait on late-day sun vibes for an experience of a very different sort.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
All you need to know you learned in kinder garden." - A. Einstein.

If you feel what I feel you know what I know. If you allow yourself to think, than what you think, will be your reality. Its a calm and beautiful day but all of the mind power in the world will not make the tide rise. The current temperature is a soft and sensual 57'f as the pocket of fog holds on and wont let go till after breakfast tomorrow. There is a time for everything. Right now is the time when you make the recently graduated teens remember that even though they are scared its ok.. because they should be. Then with the influx of tidal flow our dreams may be actualized.

CHANNEL:  Freight train rip tides giving me the freight train blues and only one fool being taken to school out there. Once the water gravitates inland our bar is as slippery as soap and could have potential. Hold for the checker flag.

PATCH:  I'm not sure what those squishy sea creatures want on the exposed rocks of the patch but I don't like the way they look at me. 3 Joes and 1 shmoe outside trying their luck. Jump in the sea and you will get a lot more surf than in your current position.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
“Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes." - Oscar Wilde

Draining tides and drizzling skies has passion watered down and distilled to a dynamic duo.  Measures must be taken to guard against negativity and solutions can always be found if you look within.  Abandon all conventional wisdom today and dive head first into a new experience.  Forget what you believe as real and discover the new meaning of "Why?"  Find a hybrid blend of truth and fiction and tell your own stories today.  A fledgling swell eases but remains active while water levels play havoc with its ability to form and fabricate reasonable renditions of rideable waves. Southerly winds puff but without the ferocity of days past and temp remains steady at 56F.  A marginal beginning to a day full of wonder but keep the stoke alive and burning bright as time will be the ultimate judge of all.

CHANNEL:  Sea kayaks full of fishing tackle make this a zone to currently avoid.  Chipper with choppy whitewater challenges making surfboard riding an impossible undertaking.  Leave this area alone while you contemplate the ultimate meaning of life.  Allow the hours to pass and see what may transpire as water levels rise to heights above zero.

PATCH:  Avoid all rocky outcroppings and narrow takeoff zones with a slight slide step to the left.  Regain composure and you tackle wind swept double-ups that have you frantically paddling for waves of makeable consequence.  Realize the bottom lurks just beneath less than inches away and stay on the fleek as you navigate slides with the full intention of calling them waves.  Only those with pure fire in their hearts have donned the neoprene and they will be the ones to receive total consciousness.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or objects." - Albert Einstein

A foul and formidable wind from the SW direction has descended upon the village and wants to spoil the party.  Bringing forth fog and misty apparitions the temp has remained stalwart at 56F but shows no signs of sun nor warming proclivities.  While the tide continues to drop below sea level new swells challenge to emerge yet are losing the ultimate battle to the elements upon us.  Afternoon water levels remain positive and slim hope resides in our hearts though the tempests may blow with further wrath.

CHANNEL:  Dropping tide and drizzling conditions as white water dominates this domain with no visible forms upon which to glide.  Huddled fishermen seek refuge from the blowing breeze while lines are cast hither and yon.  Dogs will soon romp and roam yet this will not be a place full of happy surfers this morning.

PATCH:  With water levels evaporating so do most glimmers of resolve for finding rides and slides.  Churned and choppy with whitecaps the norm and faceless waves which show no mercy.  A paddle wielding tribe member has suited up to lay claim to the wasteland while others curse the gales and retreat to warmer abodes.  A cup of black tea and fine literature will soothe the pain for the Patch will not deliver morning news of a positive vibration.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
“Find a place inside where there's joy, and the joy will burn out the pain." - Joseph Campbell

A briny atmosphere featuring a burgeoning sun has temps up to 55F and the ranks out in a show of force.  A light NW wind has grooming potential and a steep S swell is being soaked up by magnetic resonance.  All factors are being coupled with a magnificent negative tide revealing all rocks and bottom contours.  Surfers are funneled into a small zone yet waves materialize at will.  Even with no water the stoke burns deeply and slides are apparent now and shall be later as well.

CHANNEL:  No water currently equates to no waves in the domain known as the Channel or Groin surf zones.  Fishing is at a premium and lines are being cast with reckless abandon.  Forsake this area as it does not give forth a welcoming vibe presently.  In front of the boat ramp does lay small claim to a few popping peaks which although will break are residing over very low water levels.  Truly this plot of real estate requires further watering and much waiting.

PATCH:  While the meeting rock is a spire to avoid and all other rocks exposed display a triangular shape best given a wide berth there has emerged and shape shift worth noting.  The S swell is very steep and the angle of endeavor mixed with no water has shunted waves a bit S of the normal zone yet delivers rides and slides for all those with surfing hopes.  Size is prismatic amongst the sun rays and rises upon occasion to above waist high.  While the current surf zone remains a tight cluster, incoming tide should serve to spread the wealth.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
By the time you know what to do, you're too old to do it." - Ted Williams

A rare, endless, turning sun shines down upon the village as we give thanks for another day. though high winds are already in play, they currently blow directly offshore, and parking is already at a premium. It appears that moments for redemption and stoke will be fleeting, so know that the time is now. Get here, get in, get out.

CHANNEL:  Let us forgo the conventional terms of "channel" and "patch" this fine morn and acknowledge that all reason for rejoicing lies just ahead of you. Directly out from the ramp provides all the stoke that is needed, and the sets show a rare form and consistency. With a solid waist-to-chest ratio, and a rake and slope of note, comes all matter of water craft and those who love them. Be mindful of one's neighbor.

PATCH: Though it appears the faithful and/or blindly obedient are making their way towards our own rock o' the meeting, one cannot help but wonder why, as the midlands offer more than enough to make one's heart sing. As the tide continues to fill in, this foresight may begin to offer dividends, but for now, it offers only whitecaps, wind flaps, and wishful thinking.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
The purposeful destruction of information is the essence of intelligent work." - Ray Kurzweil

Though the bright sun is visible for small moments as the clouds and mist part, these glimpses are fleeting and slip through one's grasp like water. The temps are holding in the mid-50's, and currently, the zephyrs are calm. This will not last, my friends, as high velocity winds are on today's menu. Chances for enlightenment lie here in the early hours, as long as one tempers one's expectations and is grateful for the offerings the sea has made known.

CHANNEL:  Little of note or consequence, as the line-up of window shoppers of the soul far outnumber those surrounded by suit, glass, and foam. Those with logs may find solace straight ahead, as minimal boat ramp vectors and vibes are in play. As noted, the breezes do not blow the winds of peace, but only those of change.

PATCH: Low levels reveal meeting rock peaks and small rollers for weeks. A dynamic duo makes something from nothing, as the rides are not the length or quality the Patch can so often provide, but providing clarity to those seeking it. Decide what your own priorities are, and know that as day continues, slides will not. There is no try.
