Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"History, despite its wrenching pain, can not be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again." - Maya Angelou

A gloomy day has begun and hopes of light are in our hearts. Morning negatives are countered with positivity as the streets begin to fill with good energy and smiles. The wind is winding up and getting ready to slow down- we hope. Let the warm pavement warm your soul and allow yourself to be free. Stoke and bliss are what you need to come with today as the tide begins to fill in here shortly.

CHANNEL: With full sand bar exposure and miles to walk before wetting your feet, the journey may be fulfilling if one can be patient. Slow and low but possibilities still remain.

PATCH: Tip toe through and around the bumpy bottom as it may take some hard feet to enter this place. Rocks out to dry but they have no luck as the sun hides itself from all of us. Watch out for board dingers in the knee high zone as the totems begin to cover but still lie centimeters beneath the surface. A long walk and a short paddle will get you in the spot of choice today.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Negative tide with positive vibes as swells rejuvenate and refuse repeal even under the narrowest of conditions.  Boat ramp lines stretching out towards the horizon as a early welcoming committee.  Coastally cloudy but mild at 58F and again with light E winds to smooth out all the wrinkles.  Unwind yourself from slumber and find your way into the day.  Tides are on the rise and the sun is just aching to break through.  Begging to be melted down and working for the Clampdown.

CHANNEL: Spinners and winners in less than ideal water levels as the tide just now seeks the zero equivalent.  More water will surely help improve already encouraging conditions.  Hollow and racy at times.  Lumpy and dumpy at others.  There is something for everyone but the majority of waves are of a non-Amateur variety.  Pick and choose wisely and wear your leash.

PATCH: One need not even proceed as far as the Patch reaches with a playing field of surf right out in front of the common seawall.  Areas typically immune to breakers are infused with properly angled forces determined to reach the shoreline.  The furthest recesses of the Patch are also engaged in swellular activity and as the tide fills in more accessibility will surely follow.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Nothing reduces the odds against you like ignoring them." - Robert Breault

Spritzy now - sunshine later with the early light revealing visions same as it never was.  Calm, mild and overcast at 57F with light ESE winds and a fully depleted tide.  Swells are easing back a bit but still developed and depositing with regularity.  Dripping suits hang in all manner and strewn about as dawn crackers are no slackers to be up and on it before first light.  Mobile locals disengage from their auto-cocoons, brothers in arms come to the rescue and Dave always says, "Get in the van, Man."

CHANNEL: Tidal turnaround in effect and heading back up to sea level and beyond.  Soon to be plenty of water and inhabitants as well with the NW swell fully justifying the sandbar positioning and rationale.  A focused zone for takeoffs and landings has a cluster-cuss in the making so know your limits and play nicely boys and girls.

PATCH: Traverse distances on the sea to well out past the meeting rock to fully realize the morning potential.  Inside remains a spiny collection of toe jammers and fin slammers better left un-vistited until later in the day when water will appropriately cover.  A fine S groundswell still fairly steep in its angle yet organized and offering options that allow for many rides, slides and high fives.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"We all have magic in us.  We're born with whirlwinds, forest fires and comets inside us." - Robert R. McCammon

Heat seekers the party is over.  Fog drifted in last night and set up camp.  Dropping a bit of associated moisture - enough to get some drain-holes flowing. Energies remain in place though currently confused on how to distribute on the lower and lacking tides.  A bit of S winds got the texture up in arms and dare we say you should have been here yesterday?  Still a formal contingent in the water looking for the juice to jumpstart the day.

CHANNEL: Non groovy movements under negative tide conditions has the hopefuls jockeying for position that doesn't quite exist.  Some heave and have heft though emerge upon shallow bars and are not allowing entry without full vetting.  Others have sections and areas that elude and evade even the savviest of sliders.  The propulsive forces exist but the performance aspects are skewed.  If you can find your way to the Records Room you may be later rewarded.

PATCH: No bueno under no aqua early conditions as rock, stock and logs are the predominant features this morning.  Tidal swings are roller coaster like but the later morning has positivism written all over it.  A newly emerging S swell looks a bit too steep currently but may allow for a few stray nomads to pop in for a short visit.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Well, well, well, what have we here? Continuing swell build and incoming tide are shaping up quite nicely. No wind as of now but breezes will sneak in here and there throughout the day. A negative tide in the wee hours of the morning is building up, but not as high up as the 7 foot high tonight. Sunshine and heat are in the forecast and we rejoice. Stay near and continue watching, evening sessions are a must.

CHANNEL: Slip and slide into glory as shoveling lefts break and snake in front of the jetty. A crowd begins to gather stand in awe in sight of something worth riding. Steep tumblers with some speed sweep though at waist high. Hurry in before the tide does.

PATCH: Not working as well as last night but still logging is possible. Knee high, so longer is better. Afternoon may be better but routes getting back in are limited, so know your time and tides.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who don't, none will do." - Jerry Lewis

Ahhh, Bo-town. A place for all, except when building, for now is a great time for those with even slight ataxia to hold out. Eat the banana pancakes, drink the tea. Calling all others who wish to ditch the early morning sunrise and blanket themselves in a fogged bliss come getcher fillings, as there's a whisper or a shout of ultimate sun. She's building. Offshore wind leaves untreated, natural funk, but it is easily overlooked for the better things in life. We have reached the moment during the coin toss when the object closes in on it's peek. The moment right before it hovers. Building, bodacious, and ready.

CHANNEL: Chaos. Boards flying, people in, out, left, and right. They heard something and they came running but it seems many overestimated their ability, leaving those in the know to dip, dodge, and avoid. Yes to some, a solid wait for others.

PATCH: Full belly blubber, blabbering babooms bumped the bodacious bumpkin. Fewer numbers, less coal. Tend to all yee beginners, beggers ain't choosers but sometimes one must leave the main meal for the main predators.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Best are the weird people: poets, misfits, writers, mystics, painters, troubadours, for they teach us to see the world through different eyes." - Jacob Nordby

Morning murk, warm hearts, off shore winds and full bellies. Tuesday tunes are vacant but the Sunday sun stays strong. Blueberry pancake brunch, a banana and a coffee in the AM. Not the healthiest but it will get you groovin' and moovin'. Hunk of a NW swell commingle with a bantam SW groove producing jams that are a crowd pleaser but security deters with some strong air forces.

CHANNEL: Maneuver around the people and white water. Sun shines burn the eyes. Catchable, rideable, full, and populated. Here and not very much there. A pile of traveling bums choosing to opt out of the consumerism ideologies of mainstream society. Stand out, stand up.

PATCH: Movement on the surface as wind brings uncooked chop, while energy below stays as dormant as a elephant seal in slumber. A man on a solo mission. Choosing your own path is mostly wise but you can still be an individual in the crowd.

We sit and escape the heat wave as the temperature stands low. But the morning chill is wearing off and the sun is warming the air. Hot weather allows for better times and sweeter rides. Stay hydrated and don't forget your SPF. It truly is summer in Bolinas.

CHANNEL: Thigh high rides are found by the early riders, those who have already left found the day's gold. High is exactly now so it seems like the wave machine should be powered on today. Keep your eyes peeled and try not to bump elbows.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy." - Marcel Proust

Current climate of heat prevails along with NW windswell energies.  A heady mix of what to do and where to go permeates the day as dads seek serenity and all others desire cooler climes.  Calm with thick air and an actual chance of rain.  The tides are on your side today and will allow for various times to dip and slide.  Ripe with possibilities and full fledged mayhem as well.

CHANNEL: Still engaged with the spirit of the NW windswell which has increased its strength and should remain relevant.  Smooth waters and calm winds illuminated with full radiance from above.  Still primarily focused on the Channel bar with a few stray peaks hitting along the Groin and causing consternation.  Best waves go waist high.  Worst ones don't even break.

PATCH: Too much water and not enough angle of inception may be a few reasons we aren't completely impressed with the offerings.  There will be other rounds in which the Patch can redeem itself and further judgement will be passed later.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

A hybrid blend from N and S coalesce in an effort to impart stoke.  Tidal swings dictate that early and late contain the most water and windows of opportunity in which to partake.  Sun is a definitive YES with temps now at 61F.  Light E winds of the grooming variety have smoothed the scene.  Vehicles disgorging gear and humanity while dogs romp amongst the shoreline fishermen's legs.  Set your mind free baby and maybe you'll understand.

CHANNEL: Freshly pressed NW windswell finally finding foothold on the deeper Channel bars which are set and expectant.  Lefts and rights which meander and regroup along the way.  Split the peak or share - just remember to look both ways before you go.  Still pillowy soft and logs are the preferred vehicle of choice.  The tide drop off comes around lunch so get it now and get it later.

PATCH: Not quite enough W in the current swell to fully engage or attract the masses.  Lone kneepaddlers do currently hold the title to the property and are guarding the gate.  A limited amount of rights along the inside are striving towards a thigh high reach and may just fall a bit short in their efforts.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Do not dare not to dare." - C. S. Lewis

Sun salutations with only minor vibrations as enthusiasm runs high even while the tide turns low. The cosmic ebb and flow is on the go and only superficial swell fragments are left behind.  Regular rations of sun and clear skies have already been dispensed and morning temp keeps rising and clicks in at 58F.  Overnight on-shores did no grooming favors but now the winds remain mostly static.  A Bo-beautiful day to be on the water with limited opportunities to catch a wave ride.

CHANNEL: No reversal of fortune as the receding tide tatters and shatters hopes and dreams.  A pod of expectant sliders sits deep looking for adequate aqua and stray swell reverberations. Hoping for something like a good kick in the shin. Stay thirsty my friends.

PATCH: Revealed rocks in the unfolding hours as tide drops and stops just above sea level.  Non scintillating resonance from lack of S swell has the Patch on HOLD and closed for maintenance today.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters" - George Herbert

The day has begun and we are reminded of the greatness of the world. Blinding beams come from above and reflections below, keeping our day bright from every possible angle. Well lake Bolinas is in effect as the tide sits still for a moment and the sandbar has risen. Low has yet to come yet all areas remain empty and sedated. No luck this morning for travelers seeking serenity, but maybe they will find it elsewhere. Keep your friends close and your crystals closer, for both will keep peace and bring you fortune.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Get off the couch, switch off reality TV and start participating in reality." - Robin Esrock

The moon stays out to play while the sun struggles to fight off that morning haze. Feels of a late night, early-morning escapade as runners dive into the water, surfers stay cozy in their wetsuits, and couples bundle up for a dog walking excursion. Whispers of a WNW swell maturing but those on land struggle to see how these promises are being fulfilled. Round two of a 64F start and a sweet hope that continues to rise. Sun out to play, winds at bay. Sleep in, take your time, do not rush. We are on Earth's agenda and she urges us to stay mindful and present. Look not too far but sit through what is to come.

CHANNEL: Sit. Paddle. Stand. One-one thousand, two-one thousand. Drop. Stand to turn. Paddle. Repeat. Short and sweet as a sweet-tart.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"If you don't know where you're going, you might wind up someplace else." - Yogi Berra

Sleepy summer tides remain low and show off their morning rocks. Lazy pups run and tumble in the sun-warmed sand and stay there. The air is still and the temperature is on the rise. Currently 64F but can feel a bit more crisp when not exposed to the light. So expose yourselves, friends, as the day is upon us and together we celebrate.

CHANNEL: Mini-Micro mounds of nothing sweep by unnoticed. Not enough water for even the longest of logs. But be patient, the tide is just on the rise.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending." - C. S. Lewis

Ahh the calm in the early hours as only the dedicated delve to discover.  Low tide and low temps will all start to rise and bring more masses in search of free passes.  For starters it's fairly drained but maintained as the winds are slack or have NE aspirations.  Skies are clear and any thought of clouds has vanished.  Still a mediocre mix of NW windswell coupling with the last gasps from the S but enough to kick out the jams and find a few slides or soak up some summer vibes.

CHANNEL: Somewhat sloppy and a bit choppy in the depleted tidal conditions currently on display.  Further out on the newly contrived Groin bar there does exist enough water to whet the appetite and stoke aspirations.  A micro spinning cylinder that may soon allow for entry and exits.  Realize a fee must be paid to force-feed this blowhole.

PATCH: Rock and crag and mostly slag as we go low and then even below in the morning hours.  Dwindled energy from the S makes this locality less appealing in the low waters but should still deliver a glide ride in the afternoon and into the evening.  Your biggest log and then some will always put a smile on your face, and one wave is all it takes.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"There must be more to life than having everything." - Maurice Sendak

Streakers, seekers and mixed tongue speakers on the prowl and converging in the nexus of the universe.  Summer matriculation begins in earnest with descendants by the truckload.  A morning thick with promise and warped with potential.  Winds have quelled and the skies are turning shades and emitting sunshine.  Temps which started chill are already up to 65F.  Still a worthy mixture of WNW + SW swells in attendance and as the day unravels and the tide fills in there should be enough stoke to share for everyone.

CHANNEL: The shifted sands of time and place have authored a new emergence and cause for rejoice.  Even on the lowest of tides the Groin bar looks happily suited to shape and create lefts of function and form.  More water and no winds are specific factors that will enhance the situation yet for now we find waist high peelers spinning off into idle sands.

PATCH: Residual ripples with the SW swell easing back slowly.  Low tide blues has more rock and stone than rock and roll in this early hour.  Fret not as the tide returns as it always does and from mid morning on through the night water levels are ample.  Right-handers with flowing grace may well be in the offering later today.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Everyone should be respected as and individual, but no one idolized." - Albert Einstein

Renewal and rejuvenation as we pull off the mask on a new beginning.  Throwing caution to the wind as we navigate upon a journey full of treachery and discovery. Skies starting grey but seeming to give way to hints of blue and rays of sun.  The rain from yesterday is gone and has refreshed the verdant greens in our view.  Fading NW windswell not going out without a good fight and even with a bottomed out tide the early morning call to arms is on.  Temp is a balmy 57F and only light winds and from the NE.

CHANNEL: Rock bottom low pushes your exploratory range out a fair walking distance.  Here we find a cleaned up and spinning left draining off in the shallows and ending in the nothings.  Hollow but not heaving and bearing good tidings and waist high whompers.  As the tides turn toward positivity so should your vision change with eyes on the deeper Channel bar and the inner Mali-Bo racetrack.  Stay for the long haul and see what materializes.

PATCH: A more wind-borne apparition in terms of swell but the angle has changed to a more favorable direction and the numbers indicate the potential for a trip and dip.  Still a minefield of unfettered rocks at this early hour but the tide is turning and the hours are burning.  Shifty and unconventional but still delivering enough goodness to partake in.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The past has no power over the present moment." - Eckhart Tolle

We begin with rain in moderated amounts as we must need more according to Mother Nature.  Not associated with much winds and those detected are directed from the NE and minor.  Freshly minted WNW swell formulating and filling in throughout the day.  Those up for getting wet are already on it and finding a few between the crash and splash.  Tide now refueling and refreshing to adequate levels for on water experiences.  What will yours be today?

CHANNEL: Starting negatively tide wise and now leveling off with satiated elevations.  Lefts off the Groin bar the current spot in the know as waters in the spin cycle are reaching thigh high.  Deeper Channel bar and interior region Mali-Bo not quite working in the current configuration.  More time and water will likely have improved conditions later in the day.

PATCH: A steeper leaning S swell running up the coast and likely passing through without even a kiss hello.  Water levels below zero have all rocks exposed and surf shut down and off - for now.  Afternoon reboot may be in order in case a few stray blips find footing and land.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you will make progress." - Barack Obama

The morning is here as you can see and we are awoken to enjoy it. If you're toasty in bed, don't bother getting out, if you're already up then do whatever you like. Today we are reminded that we live in California as the weather confuses us yet again. With summer soon upon us we ask "how" and "why." 56F and a breeze of 6mph are not inviting to those seeking sunshine, because there is none. Tide is filling in and that can mean good things, but for now relax, have a pancake.

CHANNEL: Rising tide creating mini ramps available to any that apply. Tide still filling in and is a little low but has potential to improve. Logs welcome but others persist. Anything is possible but consult a crystal specialist for better methods.

PATCH: Splish, splash, I jumped back in the bath
Well, how was I to know there was a party going on?
