Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly." - Langston Hughes

Serene settings and a clear surround with a day that starts all too quiet.  Moonlight lets the super early birds feast and frolic while taking the gamble on the lower tide.  Crystals don't get much more clean or recharged so energy buzzing off the spectrum.  Pedestrian swells keeping it small and manageable.  Winds are lightly E and temp 48F.  Freedom to roam and play as you so desire.

CHANNEL:  Free range options and a wide open landscape upon which to actuate.  Incoming tide sets its sights on levels rarely reached and will eventually make admission eventful.  For now we experience the gentle push and extra propulsion to activate a Mali-Bo right breaking off the Groin pole.  The deeper Channel bar elicits a wide left that is soft and supple.  Faded NW swells are your relevant catalysts.

PATCH:  A SW swell with vigor and measure of gravity may well show more acumen within higher waters.  In the present, a small right of patella intersection is revealed and UN-ridden.  Vanishing sands will soon be the norm as the tide grows to its peak.  A general smooth surface that may yet hold a bounty of stoke.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"A kind heart is a fountain of gladness, making everything in its vicinity freshen into smiles." - Washington Irving

Sharp blue and golden hues from morning sun blesses this Tuesday morning.  Hustle and bustle delivery trucks coming and going as school buses make their daily pick ups.  Preparations are in full effect in anticipation for the Super Blue Blood Moon rising early tomorrow morning.  Crystal cleaning and arranging for the special recharge lunar event that happens every 150 years.  Check the time tables for optimum viewing.

CHANNEL: A chilly 52 and open parking as far as the eye can see.  High water levels up the boat ramp make for a tricky approach.  A fresh WNW swell reading coming in, though hard to tell with so much water.  Nothing materializing in the channel proper, though shin size on the Sea Drift side.  As tide turns this afternoon, shape and size should build.  Practice your waiting and patience skills for now.

PATCH:  Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink.  Resting sea gulls making the most out of the floating tree limb rafts.  Filled pockets of seashells and rocks in hopes of making formations and creations will have to wait until this afternoon when there is beach to be had.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Don't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like the water" - Bruce Lee

Overcast hue of light gray as a moderate breeze floats on by.  Warm at 54 as hawks circle above eyeing breakfast snacks.  Quiet noise and thoughts of to-do lists start the day.  Begin the work week on the right or left foot with a strong foundation of intent.  Gaining knowledge along the way with the help of energy from charged crystals.

CHANNEL: Lake Bolinas is back in action thanks to high tide coming in this morning.  Textured water from the mornings wind, fighting against whats left of the WNW swell.  Too much water coming in to determine if waves can materialize today.  For now sit back, relax and enjoy Mother Nature.

PATCH:  Bobbing seagulls with blowing feathers trying hard to stay in position.  No beach in sight as water crashes against the green wall with a fanning spray.  Walking along Over Look is the best bet for today's morning activity.  Enjoy the view.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives." - Ralph Emerson

Crystal, clear and bright blue as the radiant sun beams happiness and vitamin D.  A balmy 45 with promises of temperatures reaching 64 by mid-day. A morning crew currently holding discussions on the sea wall proposing when the perfect window will be for practicing pig-dog positions.  With the tide dropping to negative in the afternoon, today's window for pork delight is fast approaching.  Load up the car with picnic supplies, sun hats, neoprene suits and your favorite sled.  Today looks like a great day to hang at the beach.

CHANNEL: Aligned crystal power creating small slip-n-slides right and left.  A fading WNW swell has little applied force over peek formations.  As high tide has reached it's tipping point early, out going tide is coming in hot.  Clean waves in the knee range materialize with a soupy white foam ending.  A pack of 7 wave worshipers currently out having fun in the sun.  Don't forget the sunscreen.

PATCH:  The tide is high, but I'm holding on. I'm gonna be your number one.  The tide is high, but I'm holding on.  I'm gonna be your number one, number one, number one.  The tide is high, but I'm holding on.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"I'm not strange, weird, off, nor crazy, my reality is just different from yours." - Lewis Carroll

Striated skies as a striking backdrop to a new day full of promise and wonder.  Bracing and clear with early temp of 41F but light NE flow sending warm and dry air for the region.  Abundant high tide on the drop and we remain overall fluid and sedate.  NW swell drops yet retains the ability to demonstrate the dance.   Prognosis probable for slides and smiles though watch the water levels as eventually they become nil.

CHANNEL: Long stares by those with few cares while the weekend gets started in earnest.  Sip hot coffee over jibbers and jabbers then enrobe in damp neoprene as decisions get made.  Recalculate as you evaluate and slip left to slide right.  Feel the magnetic pull of the outgoing tide while it seeks to reshape.  Rock and roll to the beat of the funk fuzz.  Wipe your feet really good on the rhythm rug.

PATCH:  Edited down with much of the grist removed and only the essentials remain.  Swell declines and is a bit too steep to fully involve itself in this folly.  Smooth and undeviating.  Sunny and placid.  The occasional ruffle suited only for the big big logs with long intervals between opportunities.  If they knock - you better answer.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Success is a journey, not a destination.  The doing is often more important than the outcome." - Arthur Ashe

Dense fog below and a clearing patchwork above.  Slow to reveal and now settled in to full blue and sun.  Temps remain cool and hover at 39F.  A general damp seeking evaporation radiance.  NW swell grows substantial and steep lending a range of high tide motion to the Patch while playing hide n seek in the Channel.  Options are open but not unlimited and the early vibes feel positive and playful.

CHANNEL: Resilient though reduced as new NW swell not finding the proper foundation to fire on all cylinders.  Early higher tides may be lending a hand in the softer selections and the turnaround has started with a gradual drop.  Still smooth with winds a non-issue and centrally located once again in the Channel proper.  Longboards gather the goods with shorter sleds repealed unless well inside.

PATCH:  Gentle wobbles enter upon the higher tide to disseminate dainty rollers.  Limited encounters for logs and SUPs with knee high combers being the normalized outcome.  Velvety surfaces and fully sunshine engulfed are positives to accentuate.  Negatives don't exist once you paddle out...

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life." - Muhammad Ali

Rain stops and temp drops yielding a pathway to watery explorations.  Temp of 41F and dead calm wind.  Clearing skies with far off clouds possibly situated for later precipitation - but for now sunshine.  Here it is breathtaking, beautiful and freshly rinsed.  Moderate mix of new NW windswell and faded remainders provide the propulsive forces required for those seeking slides.  Conventional wisdom says get on it early and enjoy.

CHANNEL: Unbalanced bars now showing two distinct outcomes with no cross pollination.  Both directed heading left and having a shape worth analysis.  The swell mix shows capacity to both invigorate and confound, with better breakers above waist high and dare I say approaching chest?  Rideable in all degrees and shorter boards can compete on the inside formations.

PATCH:  A less likely outcome today with no real swell directed in this location.  A mixed bag of minor peaks being subdued by those that stand tall and wield carbon fiber lances.  Generally smooth as winds remain quiet.  Tide keeping it real and not negatively effecting outcomes.  It's a game of chance that few are undertaking today.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Chop your own wood and it will warm you twice." - Henry Ford

Sweet serenity and streaming sunshine today.  Fog up top but the deck shows clarity, light NE winds and a temp of 47F.  Empty roof racks from the barnacle crew is indicative of a Tuesday morning.  Shifted to higher angle N swell still reporting numerals that evoke interest.  Recent rains have reallocated sands and a late start to winter is better than none at all.

CHANNEL: Lingering residuals still find footing along the shallow bottoms and issue breakers best suited for sliding right.  Humps and bumps that translate to rides are being feasted upon by a duo of the dedicated.  Thigh to nearly waist high rollers are no apparition though the sun is nearly as blinding as a million crystal points of light.

PATCH:  A whispered S swell does not have enough moxie to make waves, but in collaboration with the Northern nexus yields rollers appropriate for morning activities.  Tides show no capacity to swing or sway and should hold enough water to keep on keeping on.  Attended currently by a handful with more as the day unwinds.  A fine day to log the hours away.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"I don't trust someone who is nice to me but rude to the waiter.  Because they would treat me the same way if I were in that position." - Muhammad Ali

Clearing blue sky making way for the sun's morning brilliance as roads dry out from overnight rain.  Cool, breezy and damp with outside temps at 52 as birds sing in clusters.  Morning school bus shuffle underway and open parking for the taking.  The ol' familiar dawn patrol crew settling in with sun salutations and smiles of hello.

CHANNEL: Lines on the horizon look bigger than they appear as the WNW swell has lost energy from the nights rain.  Crumbly white water peaks in the thigh to knee range.  With the tide now coming in, the Channel should clean up with more water.  Long logs are best suited for today's activites.

PATCH:  White, bubbling and extra foamy.  Kinda like that extra hot, extra foam latte you just ordered.  Be careful taking the first sip as contents are hot.  Sit back, relax and enjoy as the best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cup.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Self-praise is for loosers.  Be a winner.  Stand for something.  Always have class and be humble." - John Madden

Sharp blue and auroral sunshine greets us this day with a standing ovation.  A chilling 39, stinging chicken skin and turning digits white.  Convoys of motors in all shapes and sizes keeping fingers crossed in hopes for parking.  Unpacking neoprene with smiling faces saying hello to fellow satly tribe members, all searching for the same answer.  Is it as good as yesterday? Patch or Channel?  Right or left?

CHANNEL:  Fading WNW swell in the Channel with long intervals in-between sets that range in the thigh to waist.  A morning crew of 17 catching what the ocean is handing out.  Not as steep or fast as the past few days and still plenty for all to go around.  Patience is a virtue and remember your surf etiquette.

PATCH:  When you first try to surf you might find it quite tough, your board seems to wobble, the waves seem so rough.  With practice and practice you'll learn how to stand, like the sure footed Wombat with a drink in his hand.  The first was an Anteater with a snuffly long nose.  The Vulture studied her weather charts well, and swoops right on in to catch the new swell.  Just one wave makes each surf worthwhile, like the backhanded barrel in Elephant style.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Have patience.  All things are difficult before they become easy." - Saadi

Energized and rejuvenated with crystal clear skies full of color and vitamin D.  Chilled out and down to 42F but rapidly warming with light E winds leading the charge.  Solid NW swell in regression but still pulsating with favorable forces.  All cleaned up and awaiting all comers - many of which have already arrived.

CHANNEL:  A rock strewn beach leads the way with a gradient of sand now forming new bars.  Fleshing out the ragged edges and settling in for the long haul.  Steep swell angle seems suited to find leverage and offer opportunities along a wide plain.  Size has dropped and is manageable for all levels with wave heights topping out around waist +.  Connectivity still working out the details but the allure is intriguing.

PATCH:  So slide over here and give me a moment.  Your moves are so raw I've got to let you know.  I've got to let you know, you're one of my kind.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Accept who you are; and revel in it." - Mitch Albom

Still, clear and cool air while the ocean continues to boom.  Temp of 42F and light NE winds trying to smooth the rough edges.  Fiery sun erasing doubt of the greatness to come.  Still raw and compounded by abundant swell and growing tidal heights.  Not nearly as uncontrolled as yesterday but still beyond the amateur levels.  Cleaner corners and actual wave faces are being formatted as a measure of calm descends.  Awareness and judgement are still advised.

CHANNEL:  Shifted sands begin to reinvigorate the Groin bar left and exciting action is in progress.  Unfettered swaths of ocean energy freely roam and encounter shoals before rising up and crashing down.  Size has mellowed some though the shoulder high drop is still an option.  Directly out front shows less mayhem and minor breakers.  Boards of all shapes and sizes can and will partake of the bounty which while great in size currently is short on quality standards.

PATCH:  Overwhelming NW swell crashing the party both figuratively and literally.  Entering the Patch and surrounding zones from the depths and flooding through to find the shore.  Orderly portions are available and can be managed with your trusty log.  Directional aspects seem confused as expected under extreme circumstances.  Tides hold steady until nearly dark.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Failure is not fatal, but failure to change might be." - John Wooden

Slippery slopes with rain beginning at a drizzle and starting to pick up S winds over time.  Real time mega WNW swell fully involved over the next few days.  Damp, dark, slate skies with temp of 53F.  Plenty of investigative looks at the beach with tide and wind growing by the hour.  Many masses of water moving mostly unexpectedly about.  Hunt and seek to salvage a session and remember caution before exuberance as the motto of the day.

CHANNEL:  More rain and a new game as the XL swell sets new standards.  Shifty peaks of size and force strike randomly along the sea floor corridor.  Winds remain SW though light at the early hour so a measure of smoothness can be found.  More height than length with size approaching shoulder + on the drop and flop.  It can be challenged and managed if determined worthy.

PATCH:  On the surface, by the waves thou shalt be tossed from side to side.  Go down into the depths, and with the current calmly glide.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Trust your instinct to the end, though you can render no reason." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Gray blanketed sky with a thick misty haze and wet streets from overnight raindrops are the welcoming committee for the short work week.  A cool 54 outside temp as croaking frogs answer calling chirping birds.  With the smell of sweet, clean and crisp air our morning routine begins.  Making our way through daily obligations not forgetting to stop and smell the salty sea along the way.

CHANNEL:  The overnight rain has had little effect on the NW swell.  With high tide coming in, the approach to the Channel takes patience to reach and well worth the effort.  Chest to waist size on the sets with multiple peaks to choose from.  A variety of boards out in the water scoring rides all the way to shore.  Water temp is 55 and with thick gray mist in the air, it feels like surfing in smoke on the water.  As the tide recedes mid-day, peaks and valleys may steepen.

PATCH:  Confusion and churn are the words of the day as it seems the swell has lost the directions to the Patch.  High tide waves crashing up the green wall makes for an exciting viewing party.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Hurly burly holiday culmination.  Significantly sized NW swell develops and invades.  Ocean activity drawing a crowd of all comers to try their luck and test their skills.  Naturally clearing skies gently illuminated in the East and a temp of 52F to take the edge off.  Winds remain slack and tide just now filled to the brim.  Battle tested boards of all shapes and sizes being offloaded and waxed with reckless abandon.  *The measured approach always seems to work best even when frothing to charge.

CHANNEL:  Overloaded with tide, swell and population on this fine day of hope.  Inside ample dumpers seem most suited to those wishing to be whomped and punished.  Outside Channel bar is primed and poised but a bit overwhelmed handling all the duties.  Reaching maximum entropy with less clean corners than hoped for and chunks to the chest.  Outgoing flow may bring a tidier outlook and likely more sliders as well.

PATCH:  Random dispersion of breakers attracting all manner of humanity.  A bit ragged on the higher tide but keeping hard edges at bay.  Swell filtering in and over with more water and the distribution is at least spatially consistent with Winter action.  Find a few and love your fellow surfer.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Every moment is a new beginning." - Elie Wiesel

Crisp off-shores ruffling tarps and tapestries. The determined and dedicated allegiance finds no fault and forges forward.  Skies of clarity and temp of 56F lend promise to the day.  Still plenty of WNW swell seeking optimal purchase along our coastal enclave.  High tide shifts the focus feature and the drain is significant and brisk.  Expect windows of shape shifting and improvement if you in the right space and time.

CHANNEL:  Pushed outward and over towards deeper waters and the Seadrift community.  Curved collections of water lurch and lean right with E winds helping faces and holding heady.  Constricted zone of opportunity with sandbars on the thinner side.  Look for cleaner options during the initial tide drop and find yours before it disappears completely.

PATCH:  A persistent collection of loggers attending services in the Patch.  Tough winds pushing most too deep and off the boiling point of action.  Again, mostly focused inside and requiring a bit more attention to detail.  Heavy boards with chop cutting components will fare best attempting to drop in.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Keep your face always towards the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you." - Walt Whitman

The crow calls early and all must heed.  WNW swell remains and holds steady.  Full sunshine, 50F and light NE winds complete the atmospheric picture.  High tide just past peak with beach accessible in all directions.  Outgoing tide will reshape then rip then drain over the course of time.  Where and when you choose to drop in will always have reverberations felt across the sea.

CHANNEL:  Brimming with options and drawing a vibrant crowd.  Deep Channel bar heading right towards Seadrift sends the most positive pulses and deals the longest rides.  Scattered bars along the range show some promise under the more water conditions.  Waist high breakers are sought and fought over.  A bit laden with tide that now has turned.  Ready to clean and shape but ultimately deplete as well.  Get it early if you can.

PATCH:  Mild movements and concentrated closer to shore than typical.  Racy right-handers with a little morning funk implied.  Short slides under sunny skies and plenty of water to explore the spectrum.  Mind the rocks while they begin to expose as the day unwinds.  Quick exits may be in order on the inside race track.
