Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” - Nelson Mandela

Strong bursting winds with traveling dust and leaves as the sun rises orange. Air quality low and slightly improving with air temps starting at 52. A calm silence over town begins this day of observance for all of the veterans who have served, and those who are actively serving to protect our foundation of life. We thank you and honor your strength, courage and bravery.

CHANNEL:  ENE 14 knot winds blowing white water currents sideways and knocking stand up paddlers down. Prone positioned hopefuls gassed out and maxed out arms churn against tide. Waves rolling in shin height on the sets with fanning back spray off the back. 3 waves count as a session and all will be well earned.

PATCH:  Tomfoolery shenanigans happening left and right as young seals bob like whack-a-moles. Granular blowing sand erasing footprints freshly made as water creeps towards the shore. From the wall the sights are best to see.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Mother Nature is always speaking. She speaks in a language understood within the peaceful mind of the sincere observer.” - Radhanath Swami

Shifting winds moving through tall trees with heavy campfire scents. Watching the sun rise through rose tinted lenses, as thick haze is stuck in between. A slight blue hue can be seen on the horizon giving hope to those below. Ocean tides high throughout the day creating a barrier to the grainy sandy shore. Perched on the wall, serenity seekers peer out to watch the pelican parade. Graceful and gliding, until the very last moment, the perfect dive.

CHANNEL:  High tidal movements even while low, creating a tricky entrance. NW swell tired and slow moving through the swollen ocean. Waves meandering in the ankle height with little push and too much mush. Thick smoke marine layer lingers above the party of 5 currently out moving in the Channels current.

PATCH:  Bobbing perfectly still, pelicans and seagulls play duck-duck-goose with anchovies in the mush-pot. Seals swim by trying to get in on the action while setting up their own game of tag. Rock, paper, scissors determine who’s it.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Since we don’t know where we are going, we have to stick together in case someone gets there.” - Ken Kesey

Smoke obscura as it settles into the crevices and casts the day under a permanent sepia filter. Temp takes a dip and a hit down to 37F, either seasonal or due to sun blockades as it attempts to permeate. Partitions of blue exist but in limited quantities at the immediate moment. Though the coast presents some cleaner air the realities of our current fires should stay a major concern to all. Early morning tide push looking to shore up primary swells which are offering less to those that want more.

CHANNEL:  Water levels begin to range high under murky skies while the zephyrs seem content to remain still. Initial access is evidenced but later will present a measured approach and reasoning to navigate a submerged beach and concrete ramp. Combers of a smaller stature come to fruition though one is not guaranteed slides. Remember - the song always remains the same.

PATCH:  Those hunting are not discovering the emergent SW swell which shows a long interval but alas remains quiescent in size. Increasing water fueling frustration as it covers more and more territory and depletes signs of salvation. Breaching whitewater froth knows only the boundary limited to one’s ankle.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Patience and time do more than strength and passion.” - Jean de la Fontaine

Smoke scented airs and orange tinted skies under the cool auspices of a 48F Friday. Sun has full risen and rapid warmth descends. Faded and lingering swells don’t carry enough momentum to crack the surface of brewing high tides. Limited options means open parking for those daring to take a chance and find a morsel of stoke to savor.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You can alter your life by altering the state of your mind.” - William James

Cool in town, warm at the edge of the Earth where a contrast in styles continues. Taking a myopic view of the unraveling day may cause one to miss all the true artistry upon us. With tides set to become overbearingly high and swells again evaporating into chilling airs - inside is not where you want to be. Bid welcome to the seasonal changes and relish the calmer seas that do not harbor depraved masses. These can be solitary moments that leave indelible impressions while likely not providing slides or rides of consequence or status.

CHANNEL:  A minor bump drawing a small early crew like flies to the candlelight. A trivial blip with short-lived fate causing frantic motion and little commotion. Some rights, fewer lefts all bearing fleeting beauty and crystalline reflections from above. Do not forsake any oceanic gifts as they are never unlimited.

PATCH:  The afternoon has gently passed me by. The evening spreads itself against the sky. Waiting for tomorrow, it’s just another day. Bid yesterday goodbye. Bring on the night. I couldn’t stand another hour of daylight.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Effort and courage are not enough without purpose and direction.” - John F. Kennedy

Triumphant morning with blazing sunshine warming the air which stands at a chill 45F. Another day of high pressure will again bring temps normally associated with different seasons. New beginnings in many areas while others stay entrenched in old ways. An opportunity to find positives and cultivate them to grow and spread. NW swell with unwavering potential sends sliders searching for daily stoke. Deep high tide not yet peaked and has feet yet to climb.

CHANNEL:  Reverberating NW swell showing faces and traces in spread out places this morning. Incoming tide pushing limits and the early early birds took advantage of recent clock changes to get in and get out before the swamp. Blessed with full rays and glare from above, the day has started well and may soon level off. Outgoing tide looks to have a heady rip and could shred the scene as much water is being transported today.

PATCH:  Pelican Pete and lots of duck feet with paddling for fitness the main form of exertion being exhibited. No swell in evidence but 3 hopeful contenders battling it out for first wave to the beach.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Among the things you can give and still keep are your word, a smile, and a grateful heart.” - Zig Ziglar

Emerald green glowing bright against the suns warms rays.  Big, bright and blue, the crispy chill can be felt deep inside at 45.  Empty parking as most are expressing their voices with a stroke of a pen.  Those whose votes have been cast early, seek peace and solitude at the sandy shore.  Warming underneath the brilliant sun standing on top of the wall, a deep breath calms the mind and Mother Nature cleanses the soul.

CHANNEL:  Newly arrived NW swell just barely showing as high tide approaches.  Water surging up the ramp all morning and starts to recede by mid-day.  Stand up paddlers doing their best impression of the Groin Pole as two prone warriors have found the spot.  Waves rolling in glassy at shin height.  Short and fun, with plenty of sunshine all around.

PATCH:  The Vulture studied her weather charts well, and swoops right on in to catch the swell.  An Orangutan shows you a very good tip: a bottom turn helps you get to the lip.  Riding a barrel’s the ultimate aim, and the tube riding Tiger’s on top of his game.  Just one wave makes each surf worthwhile, like a backhand barrel in Elephant style.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"In nature’s economy the currency is not money, it is life.” - Vandana Shiva

Sharp outlined shadows with sunlight all around. Morning glory sunshine rising high, lighting the pathway to adventures near and far. A chill 50 introduction with temps maxing out at 60 by afternoon. Over night winds have traveled elsewhere leaving trees standing calm and proud. Parking up for grabs as limited numbers fill the void in search of salty goodness. For those fortunate enough who are able to play on a Monday, have lady luck on their side.

CHANNEL: Cresting high tide on the boat ramp with fanning white spray on the walls. Feathered and textured surface from over night winds and swampy ocean movements. Too much H2o for much of anything to appear or materialize for now.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Time is free, but it’s priceless. You cant own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.” - Harvey Mackay

Blinding yellow sun and wispy white clouds grace the skies above as we fall back in time. Waking up feeling rested with clear heads, reveling with coffee, how to spend the extra hour. Parking non-existant with clouds of morning chatter floating on by. A cool 54 to start the day and temps climbing to 60 before the sun goes down early. Make the most of the daylight while you can and have as much fun possible while doing it.

CHANNEL: High tide filling up the ramp, making for a tricky water entry. NW and WNW swell are looking lazy this morning and lacking in energy. Current is churning and burning in the Channel with limited white water peaks and no valleys. Waves forming in the shin height with half a dozen out playing hide and seek.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"An unexciting truth may be eclipsed by a thrilling lie.” - Aldous Huxley

Free skies certified for sunshine and an early temp of 50F. Low 70s predicted with light NW winds in the later hours. Empty spots slowly filling up as the weekend slider parade gets off to a slower than usual start. Crystal consultation may be required to determine your timing as windows of opportunity are small and must be squeezed through when they appear. Undaunted adventurers make the journey and join the fray in an attempt to amass a small portion of stoke.

CHANNEL: Sloshy and backwashy with peak high tide confounding the NW swell. Rationed rights and lefts may be garnered but the hunt and seek outnumbers the slide and glide. Outgoing tide may clean up some of the confusion while adding to others. Still an allotment of swell to provide the momentum but overwhelmed by current water levels now.

PATCH:  Autumn’s sweet we call it Fall. I’ll make it to the moon if I have to crawl. With the birds I’ll share this lonely view. With the birds I’ll share this lonely view. With the birds I’ll share this lonely view…

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"This we know. All things are connected.” - Chief Seattle

Premium morning with all elements in tune. Cooled out at 47F yet clearing skies with evaporating mists as the sun begins to warm. Again no winds but NE impulses to bring heat and clarity to the region. Tidal swings begin a return to normalcy which allows for conditions and ever changing moods to appear. Directional swell deviations giving all a moment of pause to reconfigure their journey and the cycle continues over and over again.

CHANNEL: Groundswell + windswell combos from a steeper N angle germinating rights within the Channel and pushing over towards Seadrift. Deeper waters on the fuller tide making for wide ribbons of water with softer energy releases. Areas within the Groin pole see a lesser stature but still opportunities of interest.

PATCH:  No current love only unrequited yearning as the SW once was but now isn’t. Potential westerly offshoots from new NW swell may permeate with occasional offerings but the pickings are slim and may remain so for some time.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Positive anything is better than negative nothing.” - Elbert Hubbard

Turn the calendar page and reset perspectives and timing. Slowly clearing skies may yield to full sun but start streaked with clouds and temperate at 50F. No winds today though high pressure may send some warming E breezes later in the day. Determined swells in deterioration mode still offer up their gifts from the sea. High tides all day present a wobble and sway that lessens breakers and steals sand. Let your eye behold and determine your direction of action.

CHANNEL: Pulsing tide yet still some rides if you are willing and able to wait. Outside bars have periodic pulses of NW vibrations that will move longboards forward and at speed. Size declines as swell weakens but another day of ocean motion remains possible.

PATCH:  The jurisdiction of SUPs and sea kayaks each in search of opposing treats. A calm stillness with no apparent surf slide opportunities present. What remains of the SW swell may not have the juice to pierce that depth of water overhead and lines on the surface remain unbroken and whole in their intentions.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” - Confucius

Silent streets yet stoke runs deep for those searching out precious moments. Clearing skies with colors of fall and decorations of ghosts and ghouls surround. Fox and dog freely roam and later the streets will fill with a carnival of the costumed. 46F with just the lightest of SE winds to stir branches. All day high tides and swell mixtures are the treats some sliders dream of.

CHANNEL: Still a heady NW swell to augment residue from last week. Wall barrages keep the spray active and dampening to those taking a quick peek. Smoothed out surfaces and early sun highlights the obvious and a duo has defined the area with hopes of laying claim. Softer with the higher tides that will linger without variation throughout the day. Possibilities of waist high rollers are felt but not yet seen.

PATCH:  Persistent SW swell dwindles down in size and energy produced. High tides conceal the full aperture though hints manage to slip through. Unable to fully blossom with all potential yet capable of offering the slider seeking serenity their fill.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"A good friend is a connection to life - a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world.” - Lois Wyse

Dancing trees as post dawn breeze runs its fingers through fall colors. Morning sun stretching overhead and croaking frogs chat to say hello. Commuters rolling out to begin the day with only a select few heading the opposite way. Open VIP parking converted to prime dog fetching, much to owners delight. From the wall, veils of magic white spray twinkle in the rising sun. Taking pause, to feel natures magic, how lucky are we?

CHANNEL: Wind designs and patterns on the oceans surface and strong back spray as the NNW wind lingers. Waves rolling in knee height as the WNW swell is shaken and stirred. A couple of faithfuls out paddling against the current, hopeful to find the spot. It’s always better to get wet and three waves count as a surf session.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Let’s build us a happy, little cloud that floats around the sky.” - Bob Ross

Strong gusty winds rolling through town and tree debris dance in the street. Candy floss pink and blue skies as the sun crests from the hills with a vibrant morning welcome. A tepid 55 though the chill can be felt as the wind is strong. Encased in wind protection with skull caps on, ocean worshipers descend through the gate and up the stairs. Huddled together in silence on the sea wall, watching and waiting for a clear sign either way.

CHANNEL: Goose bumped ocean water skin with churning white water and back spray glitters. NW swell fighting off-shore gusts with waves bobbing in the knee height. Lots of marine animal action as seals are catching more fish then they know what to do with and seagulls are joining in on the action. Currently no one out fighting the wind or current.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"…when fall comes, kicking summer out on its ass as it always does…it settles in the way an old friend will settle into your favorite chair and take out his pipe and light it and then fill the afternoon with stories of places he has been and things he has done since he last saw you.” - Stephen King

Steeped in autumn feels and sights. From the licks of sweet coastal fog, to the separateness of this time and place, allow the change within you and around to further ground you. Above and around, capitalism runs in circles calling out our names, but those out here look towards the sea hoping to find something to peel away the layers. Swells mild but more than nothing; waist-ed and grooved it’s nothing to lose sleep over, but enough to contemplate how the day should be spent.

CHANNEL: Duality runs deep as differing sand bars and flows break up the bunch. Neither heavy nor high but seeking middle ground in all things of medium temperament. Heads counted in doubles, but a plethora of them never expected. It’s about the act here, not the thrill.

PATCH:  Medium in range and dropped like pennies from a lone travelers pocket; we see the peak and nothing more as it pushes through, from far to near, with barely a trace of a white head. Search for longer steads, momentum exists but only for those properly prepared.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.” - Carl Sagan

Deeply developed fog in rotation and again masking the obvious.  Temp warmed to 54F and sun will be a late party arrival.  Winds remain nil though may later have ENE impulses.  All swells remain intact and activated so use the other 4 human senses as your early morning guide.  From the gathering tribe assembled - seems like a go.

CHANNEL: Friday night’s dry ice punch bowl fog preserves a subtle texture without headache. N bound energies remain but change; the everlasting is repeated mortally in the new which is gone in a flash. The time is ripe. Follow those in line up ahead. Run in before it runs out.

PATCH:  Is like a flower that blooms and dies unseen. Reminding us to keep our love, forever green. And not to wait…

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful what we pretend to be.” - Kurt Vonnegut

Delicate morning with skies slowly lightening to reveal the full potential. Pinkish hues and golden mountain tops while temps dip down to 47F. Evening winds have passed and now remain silent and still. S swell in retrograde while the NW expands its reach and size. Again we find both options available and suitable for slides if that is your predisposition.

CHANNEL: Revolving lefts in resolving light in medium low tide water levels. Settled sandbars the necessary foundation to allow a good NW swell to acclimate and actuate. Holding true form with size waist high and increasing with added tide. Afternoon outgoing looked tres magnifique and today may continue the positive patterns.

PATCH:  Midnight at the oasis, send your camel to bed. Shadows painting our faces, traces of romance in our heads. Heaven’s holding a full moon, shining just for us. Let’s slip off to a sand dune and kick up a little dust.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Common sense is not so common.” - Voltaire

Fully developed fog limiting sight but not experience. All aspects remain murky and questionable. Those in the know are on the go while others strain their sights from higher perches in an attempt to gain perspective. Swells continue to expand rather than contract and while we remain blind to obvious visuals the temp is 54F and the wind does not exist. Tide fulfillment midday may swamp out certain areas and limit easy access for the uninitiated. Crystals cleansed and recharged during the full moon and clear skies last night. Find your way using other senses you possess today.

CHANNEL: I spy with my little eye nothing but can hear the sound and boom of low tide crashers with whitewater rashers following suit. A good day to access buoy readings and learn to decipher their code. NW swell effective and sandbars are firmly constructed so dive in and figure it out - something is out there.

PATCH:  Evening attributes under lower tides had significant output well outside of the meeting rock. SW swell traveling many miles makes a landing and unloads with sometimes thrilling output. Steep drops that evaporate to shoulders or long walls of open faces await in the murkiness that currently envelops. Fear not as you won’t be alone since many sliders have already headed this direction in the early hours.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Do not fear mistakes. There are none.” - Miles Davis

Expansive blue skies above with wisps of clouds and mingled sun. 48F with warming tendencies and no winds at all. Owl hoot and responding skunk calls a signal to rise and shine and get things moving on an early note. Another late season S swell mixed with NW windswell has sliders vexed for which way to proceed. Both avenues lead to stoke but tides play a role in fulfilled enjoyment throughout the day. Full moon shenanigans later tonight.

CHANNEL: Smooth and perfectly suited with inside lefts rolling through along un-impeded. Incoming tide giving a helping hand and slight push to the current NW windswell that already has its own merits. Size again resolves around the waist or bigger and mid length boards seem best suited to conquering all opportunities.

PATCH:  SW swell of legitimate size and period is a late season arrival that is heartily welcome. Admirable attendance on a mid-week morning and all are slip sliding away with logs of perpetual motion. Multi tiered in terms of wave zone and spread to the northern reaching lefts as well.
