Still and stoke today. Positive tides and sunny vibes are in for the day. With mild temps and ideal weather, it makes for a good time. Slow bo is ready and rolling. Spirits up young pups, its not that gnarly out there.   


CHANNEL: Small and waiting. No one knows what to catch, but that doesn't matter. The sunrise makes up for lost. Better go search another for now.

 
PATCH: You can see it, you can see it, but can you catch it. Few paddlers go to the trough, and others hang back. Preference and style is it? With the unknown S coming, it is still the unknown.

Willfully wandering in aimless directions as we all seek our daily taste.  Eeezy and steezy with all swell enablement on the decline.  Full moon antics now swallowed by overcast and fog above.  Still enough goodness to stoke the embers and fishing kayaks are assembling a mass flotilla on the boat ramp.  They say a warm weekend is coming.  We have 54F now and no wind, incoming tides and time on our side.  


CHANNEL: Peaceful though not plentiful in the early hours and low tide.  As the moon's gravitational forces exert themselves we will cleanse our crystals and keep an open eye on Mali-Bo.  Lefts off the Groin bar are the worthy option and while size remains negligible the shape is worth gazing upon.  Bring only your longest board to achieve total consciousness.  

 
PATCH: Tropical S swell has not coalesced and therefore leaves many watching / waiting / wanting more.  More you shall not have today but the less has potential as the tide pushes in.  The perigee pull of the moon may be strong enough to bump these minor rollers up just a notch.

Golden silence barely broken by whispers in the dark as a squadron suits up.  Fishing boats illuminate the horizon and as light breaks all is fully revealed.  A diminutive NW shows desire but lacks consistency.  A building sub-tropical S swell still needs formation and travel vouchers to arrive.  The skies begin to shade and the temp revolves around 55F.  Winds are not an issue and the tide now flows incoming.  A drowsy day backed by optimism and potential.


CHANNEL: Pint-size lefts are seized by the hungry and ravaged for all the nutrients they are worth.  Lacking oceanic energy the efforts do not go unrewarded though ride length remains meager.  Logs will get you in and up and the positive tide may enhance the atmosphere.

 
PATCH: Rocky outcroppings are the predominant feature as early morning lows begin to scale back.  Too soon for any new S to show.  Too low for any dramatic surf to materialize.  Just right for a session of peaceful paddling.

Daily Surf Report - 9/14/2016

A lessening on many levels and you can almost hear the quiet serenity.  No wind, no fog, no sounds - save for faint hoots in the distance.  What creatures could be so joyous this day?  What conditions could elicit such stoke?  As all swells diminish and deplete we find smooth surfaces with minimalistic rides and a calvary crew enjoying it for all it is worth.  


CHANNEL: Now calmed and cloistered in the pre-dawn hours.  Sleepy times and weepy eyes spy little lefts buttressed by solid sandbars.  Overwhelmed by the current sliders in morning rapture and most social niceties are out the window.  If laughter is the cure to life then these guys are truly living large.  


PATCH: Wisps and wafts as only traces remain.  Long handled paddlers are forging a path this direction and the extra propulsion may be required for continued success.  There are still minor waves to be had and that is certainly better than no waves at all.

Fading and degrading swells with some attractive qualities.  Positive tides and overcast skies mark the morning.  Now graciously giving way to some welcome sun and a foundational temp of 57F.  A touch more S wind than anticipated keeps the beanies on and onlookers bundled.  Swipe right and get your suits on.  Swipe left and get back in bed. 


CHANNEL: Terminally textured yet hoping for a revival shock.  Long lines and sections galore with the occasional cooperation leading to long lefts.  Stable below yet moderately blowing above has some questioning their direction.  Get it now before it all melts away. 



PATCH: Lingering SW swell vestiges have willing sliders looking / leaning / longing.  Let fate be your guide and follow the draw of the moon today.  Less can equal more depending on your outlook.

Crustacean Crew in the crackling dawn searching for remainders and reminders. A delicate NW swell continues to reside and the SW swell holds stable as it fades.  Coastal overcast but dry and tepid at 55F.  Winds are negligible and surfaces are selectively smoothed.  Many have already found their way while others continue to search.  


CHANNEL: Pushing tide for elemental rides as lefts are swiftly lacerated.  Lacking the punch of the weekend there still emits a pulse of stoke for those not in school or at work.  Mid-grade tides keep things modestly composed and efforts are being made to take a sick day and play. 



PATCH: Continually dishing and swishing as the SW swell has legs to run.  The outside examiners will still find their exertions worthwhile as the inside rights speed along for those lacking paddles.  Grinning and winning as waves go by spinning.

They see and they like. Fog blankets the morning and takes control. Courage has risen and so has happiness as suits and boots are visited in the early mornings. With racing cars and extra scars, there may be some good luck to the morning crew. With a cold yet mild temp, brings smiles, but to whom?   


Special shout out to team rider WES for getting third place in the Nor Cal world dog surfing champs in Pacifica yesterday! Despite competing against professionals, and never having been in the water before, he managed to snag third! 


CHANNEL: The ins and outs are now in play. With changing tides, there is little exposure but still room for more. With rollers steaming through, there is always fun.



PATCH: Oh the joy of sliders and gliders. As they are seen from a distance, what you see is what you get. As crowds gather for the comfort of home, tension loosens and all are willing. With happy on the mind, they are content.

Daily Surf Report - 9/10/2016

Wispy layers cover frisky players as the morning many are out seeking stoke.  With NW windswell and long range SW swell still in residence the blessed get undressed and give thanks and praise to Jah.  Multi-layered rooftops with all manner of sliding sled signals the coconut wireless has been busy and buzzing.  Skies are overcast.  Temp is 57F and winds remain lightly swirling though ocean surfaces stay smoothed.   

Special shout out and good luck to Team Rider WES in today's Nor Cal dog surfing championships being held at Linda Mar beach in Pacifica.


CHANNEL: Heady and holding steady as the tide pushes in during the early hours.  For the morning vampire there are Mali-Bo options currently available.  The majority of those on recess still sit deep outside the Channel watching and waiting for hearty lefts.  Boat ramp whompers exists for thrills and punishment and with mid tides all day the entry and exit will require some thought and contemplation.



PATCH: Nazal Crazal with a side of Witch Hazel.  Cleanse those pores and brighten those eyes.  Let the coffin door open and slide right in.  Know without seeing and feel the vibrations from both near and far.  SW swell continues to hold stable and resolve itself with tides varying only slightly.  Something for everyone and eventually everyone will be present and accounted for in the lineup.  Outside rumblers that turn into inside screamers as rocks are not a limiting factor today.

Daily Surf Report - 9/9/2016

CLOSING EARLY FOR SURF BORT RIDING

Coastal clouds yet winds have died down and ocean surfaces remain smooth in the mist.  Inland temps will rise and current swells may well drive people to the coast.  NW windswell remains in play and the S swell builds and holds long range energy within.  Tides are positive along with early attitudes and chatter is minimal as suits are stretched over limbs.  Morning temps are 57F and while we may not see the sun we are not overly concerned with the absence.  


CHANNEL: Resilient lefts upon stalwart sandbars spring forth and spin forwards.  Hazy in the early light the dawn does bring clarity and has stoke seekers moving with a greater purpose.  The now vs. later discussion is rendered a moot point this morning.



PATCH: As the S swell finds its way home we are happily reminded about our fondness for the Patch.  Developing rights when the sets materialize have open space upon which to travel with tides helpful all day.

Daily Surf Report - 9/8/2016

Splattered and shattered as W winds with a propensity to blow seek to overwhelm the currently building swells. Enriched fog with droplets to spare keep wipers on and streets slick.  A resounding weather change though temps remain modest at 59F.  Wall jockeys wait and debate while others migrate seaward in hopes of a clean face.  The overall energy is up but the conditions are clearly blemished. 


CHANNEL: Choppy and challenged as the budding NW windswell does not play well with the current gales.  Uneven seas have surfers scattered about in a quest to fixate upon a beacon of optimism.  Getting wet is the name of the game in many respects today.  Tides don't change enough to validate waiting and winds seem surely set in their ways. Size encompasses a wide range and waves are in pieces and parts.



PATCH: Less affected by current gusts but not getting quite the SW swell love anticipated.  Unracked boards remain in limbo as the first sentinels return reports lacking verve.  Not quite shredded nor even embedded with action worthy of a mass migration.

Daily Surf Report - 9/7/2016

Wall slappers and knee cappers as cooperative atmospheric conditions attempt to elicit stoke.  Early risers find no benefit in waiting for adequate light as tides fluctuate minimally and all swells have some W residuals.  Unimpeded vision as skies are clearing and lightly tinted blue.  Temps start at 54F and will rise to warm all that venture forth to the shore this day.  


CHANNEL: Mombo combo with a westerly focus has these sandbars gently sparking to life.  Though size remains limited it is the shape that is transfixing.  Lefts that toss and spin along will impart enough energy enough to get your juices flowing.  As tides do not fluctuate much today the question remains - Why Wait?



PATCH: Not quite enough ooomph to formulate many breaking waves yet the tides are primed and ready for the occasional set.  More waiting and debating yet patience always pays off with a tip ride on the inside.

With nothing to give, furry friends and good chats are all that is to appear. Morning lights and withering heights are plentiful. With mild weather for the September slum, many have nothing to show. Sit and wait is the name of the game and there's nothing to change it. With rising tides there are possibilities, but some know better than others right?   


CHANNEL: Small but rolling, small crowds gather and chat. In the yellow light of the morning, they play in hope of fun in the future. Now don't you wait young grasshoppers, mild tides may or may not bring slides.



PATCH: Much like the past week, there is not much to be said about the mornings, yet wait. Maybe, maybe not. Name your paddle game.

Raccoon bowling in the misty twilight.  Fox frolicking as leaders are rightly followed.  Let nature be your guide today and give you the path to all that you seek and deserve.  Skies may well clear but for now they remain entranced and overcast.  The NW windswell holds steady yet delivers only marginal makings.  SW swell has angle yet lacks true conviction.  As we mark the traditional end of summer let's celebrate and offer you to come shopping and take $100 off any new surfboard.  


CHANNEL: Better tides as lows don't range below adequate.  NW swell at a standoff battling S winds that want to deflect and deface.  Go from rinse to spin and back again.  All the puzzle pieces are present and scattered.  Just waiting for the proper adjustments to be made.    



PATCH: You can eeek out some rides and slides between lulls and laughs.  Be strong and resolute in your convictions.  Hold your place in the lineup as current and wind attempt to push.  Be brave in the face of adversity and enjoy the day in the water rather than at work.

Daily Surf Report - 9/4/2016

Morning chills and mourning thrills. As they try, they also fail. Many seek others, and they gather at the less abundant. At a mild low, they splash and think. More of a pondering day? Ponder on young  lads. Wait for the warming and hope for better. The temperatures change and things get chilly. A bitter air features some sun and they follow where it leads.

Daily Surf Report - 9/3/2016

Headlamps bob in emerging light as the day expands into reality.  Outsized watercraft are assembled and primed to set sail on a sea of tranquility.  Mobile locals in all manner of rolling residences occupy free space as van-life is in full effect for the holiday.  End of summer brings the masses forth for one last hurrah and jamboree.  Mother Ocean not too receptive or cooperative at this time and is providing minimal party favors while withholding the good stuff for Fall.  Under clearing skies and no winds, just NW windswell and hints of a minimal S greet us this morning.  


CHANNEL: Upon receded tides lay a pasture of plateaus with only slight ripples and rumbles at inconvenient intervals.  Many demand more but are served less as teeth are gnashed and waters splashed.  With Neptune at Opposition and incoming tides approaching a turn for the better seems apparent.  I better just take 2 portions of that.   



PATCH:  Watching and waiting.  Waiting and watching for the next S swell to perk up and proliferate.  All craggy features exposed in the low light and tide have this spot on standby until further notice.

Daily Surf Report - 9/2/2016

Mild temps and morning dents as night varmints attempt dangerous crossings. No wind and clearing skies have holiday weekenders seeking stoke and posting up early. Building and fading as new NW windswell fills cracks and current SW swells diminishes. Low tides make options slim and unlimited all at the same time. Choose wisely, surf early and often and remember it is a long weekend.


CHANNEL: Shallow crossings and teeth flossing as many set sail for destinations beyond our view.  The salmon are nipping and the sandbars are tripping though water is a lacking factor.  A trio is tempted and enters cautiously in hopes of more than the eye reveals.  Incoming tides are your friend for now and your foe during lunch.

Daily Surf Report - 9/1/2016

Morning gloom, less morning doom. The morning huddle is beginning to thin with age. Some stay out to paddle and others play in the usual. Mild temps and low breezes bring more as others stay in. Possibility is possible if the week winds die.

CHANNEL: Small rollers shadow the mid tides in the morning. Fun is to be had. In hope the winds do not pick up, could be a saucy one.

PATCH: Much like in the beginning of the week, little is to be given but with changing tides, there is always time for improvement .

Sun shines as gray begins to pass overhead. The unknrown is upon us and the slow days of Bo are now resting in the palm. Little is out for the taking, and although some attempt, little succeed. With mild temps and a slight wind, it keeps them out, and keeps them out. With higher winds, it keeps things at bay.

CHANNEL: Warming sun shines down on the one that goes out, but close to nothing is awaiting a build...to come...or not to come. 

PATCH: More gather here and chat and try. With later tides there may be a better chance. Much like yesterday.
