Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"Either move or be moved." - Ezra Pound

A chilly mist hangs over the village this morning, as light onshore breezes blow up the avenues and the thermometer seems stuck at 55 degrees. A quiet desperation hangs over the boat ramp as eyes scan the horizon for shadows and movement. Alas, as of now, the sea reveals very little, and tells even less. There is reason for some ray of hope, as less water may benefit our shoreline, but that remains to be seen. The morning should be spent with classic literature, an adored companion, and good tea...

CHANNEL:  Less like an ocean, and more like a moat...Little activity of merit is seen, and as we approach peak tide, water levels are too high for even the most needy of sliders to be out and about.

PATCH:  As is becoming a trend, this may be the only possibility this fine day. As the water recedes into the luncheon hour, shapes of some variety should be seen, but observe with care, as the window for sliding may be small today. Check the charts with a full heart and optimistic eye...

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:

"If you can talk brilliantly about a problem, it can create the consoling illusion that it has been mastered." - Stanley Kubrick

Another day in paradise as we find a clear 50 degrees with minimal SW winds blowing through town. Currently conditions reveal too much water and not enough power, as if after a winter storm. Small and inconsistent rollers are being observed, and intermittently ridden, but currently the offerings are few and far between. However, as the waters recede as the morning develops, offerings may be more plentiful.

CHANNEL: A few soldiers in the army of SUPs are making something from nothing on the far side of the pole this AM, but the only loggers were observed making their way towards the shore using only swinging arms and shoulders. Knee-high mellowness mixed with far too much H2O makes for patient observation.

PATCH:  Our beloved patch does hold more possibilities this morning and as the day continues, as a baker's dozen of logs and SUPs are out and about. Though not much in height, the rollers are holding shape nicely, and long rides are being taken. Keep a close watch on the patch, as she should remain solid, if short in stature.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." - Lao Tzu

Beautiful day in Bolinas. Sunshine warming up the day at 56F and increasing quickly. Some nice beach visible but hard to obtain. Water up against the wall right now but should leave some walking room later with the low tide. Pack your smiles, your crystals, your positive attitude and your shorts, looking like a great beach day.

CHANNEL: The morning sunlight is reflecting of the water but not providing much power. Outgoing tide messing with the conditions slightly but will most like shape up later in the day. As of now, inconstant knee high rollers strolling through. Not the cleanest but like we said before, should shape up.

PATCH:  Glassy and looking good. Knee high and possibly growing. SUP and longboard friendly. Not too hard to get out there, a short journey across the sea wall will have you in the water in no time. Like the Channel could get better in the early afternoon hours when the tide starts to crawl back up shore.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"Love has no age, no limit; and no death." - John Galsworthy

Charming day as we celebrate the martyr, Saint Valentine. A good day to expose your soul and let the one you love know how important they are and how much better your world is with them in it.  A great day for wave cravers and wave slayers, wave lovers and sun worshipers, heart breakers and money makers.  A quiet and hushed morning with only chirping birds and the siren call of the ocean beckoning you to enter.  The draw is dynamic and irresistible and impairs your senses completely.  Still a bit of the W swell hanging around but returns are starting to diminish.  Like in life, nothing lasts forever.  Still a spectacular day to be at the beach and amongst the forming and fomenting crowds as they jockey for waves to love and ride.  Tide has recently peaked so high water levels keeping it a bit soft.  Sunny and 54F now and will warm dramatically.

CHANNEL:  Improved from yesterday and waiting for the clean waves will pay off.  Smooth and thirsty lefts off the Groin bar have shape and holding power to make long rides and turns a plenty a reality.  Other waves are sectioned and patchy with areas that close out and less workable lines.  Size ranges up to waist / chest with the higher tide.  Outgoing tide should accelerate things a bit and cause some throttling up in shape and energy.  Outside deeper peaks are good for longboards and the inner waves are ripe for eggs and Simmons.  Find the wave of your dreams and the love of your life here today.

PATCH:  Remains smooth and peaky with the tide just past full.  All rocks are covered so use the boils as your guide to the area.  Still an adventurous journey to reach but outgoing tide will make regular walking access possible later.   Now waves are waist high and glideable on the outside.  Logs and SUPs are battling for supremacy and graceful lines are being drawn by the victors.  Inside peaks still are racy just lacking the full power punch of days past.  Enough water covers the toothy Snags so set you sights on the horizon and drop in with abandon.   It is love at first sight here today and should have waves to ride all day.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"Freedom lies in being bold." - Robert Frost

Moon slivers and slight shivers as early morning temp is 52F.  Already warming again with NE breezes like hot breath on your neck.  Streaky skies are now clear and full of sunshine.  Get that vitamin D going for the rosy glow and nice pinkish hue.  NW swell has peaked and is delivering the goods.  Tide has peaked and maxed out so lots of water to move around.  It's on for surfing and the ride and glide club is out in full effect.  Grab your stick of choice and get it wet.

CHANNEL: Still pulsing with life and fat rollers on the sets.  Wide troughs of water making for split peaks but not great shape.  A bit too much water with the high tide but the outgoing should clean and lean it up just fine.  Most action remains outside the Groin pole off the inner sandbar.  Size running waist to chest high and the Seadrift domain is experiencing rideable rights which has shortboards migrating that direction.  Still able to make some inner bar action work but not as shapely today as we had hoped.

PATCH:  Its over the hills and up the stairs, down the rocks, over the wall, along the ridge then down the bridge but worth the journey and effort to get there.  Supremely smooth and full of peaks.  The Patch is dealing out a nice hand today with outside full house waves that emerge in the chest high size and give nice walls on which to climb and drop.  High water levels make the inner connections quite possible as well.  Midway waves are fully flushed and racy with tip time opportunities and tightrope walking displays.  These waves are waist high and hit the inner bars at warp speed leading to jokers wild or one-eyed jacks.  Anyway you shuffle it there are fun waves to be had and longboarders are all enjoying the positive vibes administered here today.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"When the world is running down, you make the best of what's still around." - Sting

We start the day with warm NE breezes giving way to full sunshine and clear skies.  Temp hovering at 62F and warming nicely.  New NW swell is in town and filling in. Ocean is smooth and the tide is dropping.  The makings are in place for a fun surf day.  Get all the ingredients combined to your liking and find your stoke zone and take flight.

CHANNEL: Long period swell giving pause to consistent pulses but they do come and deliver some smooth rollers today.  Feathering and aspiring to reach the shoulder most come in solidly in the chest high realm.  There are rights on which to bob and weave or draw some graceful lines.  Hold a high and tight line on the lefts as they reel with a bit more tenacity.  Both options emerge off the Groin bar and longer rides into the Mali-Bo regions are possible with current water levels.  A few gems are out there for the taking today.

PATCH:  Poised for greatness and dominated by consistent peelers.  There are good morning water levels and offshore breezes keeping it clean in the Patch.  Waist high rights are rapidly rolling through so stand tall and cruise it or lose it today.  Well shaped and set for the log crowd to enjoy all rides.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"The secret of getting ahead is getting started" - Mark Twain

This is the type of morning that postcards are made of. A shroud of lingering fog, immense bursts of sunshine, and 48 degrees as sliders are visible as finally the storms have passed. Even the rare soul NOT on a log or egg was observed taking solid lines. Consistent offshore winds and favorable tide conditions make for a solid day, not big, not epic, but still a day to enjoy...

CHANNEL: To the wide right of Mali-Bo a half dozen sliders are riding consistent waist high slow rollers, with the keenest eyes placing themselves into chest high delights with some shape. The storm has clearly made some alterations to the Channel, so watch closely, but there are rewards to be had.

PATCH: Less form and more variables equal no sliding at present. In an unusual twist of tidal fate, the late afternoon high tide should benefit our beloved patch as the lunch hour nears. Shapes are just beginning to be observed. All the ingredients are in place, they just need some marination.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:

"I'm just taking one step at a time. I could zigzag one way, but it's usually not on purpose." - Beck Hansen

A misty mess of moisture, fog, and a determined sun make the scene as 59 degrees and heavy humidity keep them company. Though it does appear most of the rain has moved on, the sea does has to not realized that yet. Shapeless fury moves with no rhyme nor reason as the tide rapidly comes in. Access is quickly fading, but that is the least of your concerns this fine day. Gazing into the beauty of the sea is advised , as even the most optimistic souls could find themselves in situations they can't get out of....

CHANNEL: Chaos. That's being diplomatic. With the incoming mid-afternoon high tide, water adds to frothy shapelessness and only brings despair.

PATCH: See the above. Less danger lurks on this side of the ramp, but no offerings are visible. Hot tea and quiet contemplation are better options. Keep your eye on the horizon, however, as the days to follow are filled with promise...

Wind and water rule the sea today with help from the storm. Lots of water moving quickly in and out. 59F but pouring. Lots of rain and wind as well so hold on to your umbrellas. Know your limits today and be careful what you ask for.

CHANNEL: Water everywhere. Not taking on any shape in particular. Very wishy-washy. Stormy conditions in place here today and they are not welcoming. White water rushing up the boat ramp and stirring at the base. no luck for beach access right now but might be a possibility later in the day.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"Amazement awaits us at every corner." - James Broughton

A brief respite from the storm this morning but no safe haven is to be found.  Currently 57F, cloudy and fog covered with a mix of rain and sun predicted.  The real heavy stuff isn't expected until tomorrow.  Do not seek solace in the ocean today but turn inwards and practice self discovery.  A witch's brew awaits the brave or ignorant that may choose to enter uncharted waters as visibility is minimal yet furious whitewater is clearly abundant.  Still experiencing full-scale and fast moving windswell with a new groundswell behind it.  The future looks promising yet is mostly unwritten at this time.

CHANNEL:  Whitewater with size and all over the place.  No shape, form or consistency observed and the high winds will keep things messy for the near future.  Currently low tide has boat ramp rocks and re-bar exposed and inviting.  Afternoon tide rise will once again send water up the ramp to the street and debris already litters the ground and ocean.  Maybe not as surfable as hoped for and still requires a cooling off period to clean up.

PATCH:  Shrouded in mystery.  Churning with desire.  Unwelcoming in all respects.  White-capped and windy with little to view and less to surf.  On a positive note the low tide makes access easy breezy.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." - TS Eliot

Frothy, frenzied and fierce conditions.  Good adjectives just not when describing ocean conditions.  High winds and sheets of rain starting to fall as the storm gets rolling in earnest.  Seek shelter and refuge from the fury and hunker down with green tea and good literature.  A general oceanic mess with grand-scale windswell showing its fangs.  Attempts at ocean entry will be resoundingly meet with refusal as conditions are not surf worthy.

CHANNEL:  Whitewater with size and all over the place.  No shape, form or consistency observed and the high winds will keep things messy for the near future.  Rising tide will send water up the ramp to the street and debris already litters the ground and ocean.  Not quite the surf day some were hoping for and not recommended for all level surfer today.

PATCH:  Churned and choppy.  Whitewater chunks and nothing to surf or see that puts things in a positive light.  Try Wait for the storm to pass then reassess the situation.  Today is not a surf day in the Patch.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"We came equals into this world, and equals shall we go out of it." - George Mason

Overnight stiff SW winds have things lumpy, bumpy and frothy.  Swells fade and expected rain is on the near horizon.  A day to be contemplative and remain calm.  Crystals should be fully recharged with the recent full moon and pulsing with positive energy just looking for an outlet.  Let the ocean not be your place of pursuit today as conditions remain marginal at best with scattered whitecaps the major object witnessed.  Temp is 56F and skies are cloud covered and moist.  Likely no joy to be had today with watery pursuits unless singing in the rain behooves your passions.

CHANNEL:  Pieces of lefts off the Groin pole are chopped, wind-whipped and inconsistent.  Not really even considered a wave but just kicked up ocean that is best mind surfed under the current atmosphere.  Rising tides should make for an interesting afternoon churn and adventure for those desperate enough to take a dip.

PATCH:  Victory at sea conditions as the winds rip things to shreds.  Hacked up and regurgitated rights that have thigh high desires are observed UN-encumbered.  Likely no improvement will be had here today and the coming weather will need to pass before entry is again advised.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"There's a lot of attitudes going on around here... don't let me get one." - Ash Fox

52 degrees with light NW breezes as the fog continues to dissipate along the coast. As morning continues, alarming similarities to yesterday are observed. With almost identical tidal conditions, the window for slides and rides will shut as too much water becomes an issue, only to swing wide as that same water is ripped westward. Post-luncheon slides seem to be the order of the day...

CHANNEL:  Inconsistent rights are holding shape, but these are rare gems this morning, as knee-high whitecaps are more the norm. A patient eye and still mind could happen upon a solid ride, but again, the rising tide will make these even more elusive.

PATCH: The morning's highlights will certainly be found here, as a motley crew of a half dozen take their liberties with waist high rollers that are seen holding shape for several dozen yards. If yesterday's template holds, the patch should be the place to be found by early afternoon...

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"The best advice is can give you about falling is to never land." - Chevy Chase

A calmness overtakes the BO with minimal sea breezes and 48 degrees as Monday arrives. Though we gaze to the sea with longing, and bodies are observed suited and booted, they are taking only the smallest of treats from her offerings today. As the tide continues to roll in, access may become an issue, as the ramp is already a place of turmoil and tumult.

CHANNEL:  Very little on this morning's menu as we look towards the groin pole. A solitary slider sits in quiet reflection and waits. And waits. Knee high and mushy, but still we watch. As the tide makes it's way out later this morning, more action way be had, but for now.....

PATCH: The now familiar sight of thigh-high slow rollers and paddles furiously scraping the surface greet thine eyes this fine day. A half dozen boards, most of the fat and wide variety can be seen making something out of nothing. Large gaps between sets are making for idle time and thousand-yard stares. All in all, a day when rides can be had, but far from what can be enjoyed.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you're living?" -  Bob Marley

Bring your trunks and lawn chairs- there's sun. Beautiful morning starting here while the last of the fog starts to burn off. Hoping for similar weather conditions to yesterday but still low at 54F. There's something in the water this morning, not sure if it's the rip or the angry crystals. Water slapping the seawall and coming up the boat ramp so watch your toes. Be sure to pack your smile, sunscreen, and lucky crystal.

CHANNEL:  A strong current coming through the channel with the rising tide. Some NW coming through as well. Waist high walls waking up and rolling over on their way out of bed. Water working from the groin pole- mid channel with some fun little rides. Lots of people gearing up and heading out. Be cautious of the water out front, don't want to get caught on the wall. Choose your waves carefully.

PATCH: Minimal action peaking from the patch. Occasional slow knee high rollers coming in to keep the beach wet. Could pick up later in the day but as of now the channel would be the better option. Count your lucky crystals and pray for surf.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever." - Jacques Yves Cousteau

Load the VU and pump the volume to set an influential vibe for the day.  Follow frolicking foxes as they lead you to Nirvana.  Tread lightly around the squashed skunks as they emit bad juju.   Positive Bolinas morning for the early risers as NW swell remains in play although peaking tide keeping it soft.  Energy is out there and plenty of water is moving about.  In & Out wall rides can be had for the skillful as you make your ocean entry.  Broken boards and bones are available for those that don't play nice with Mother Ocean.  Brisk at 45F with full sunshine upon us now.  Light side-shore winds dimpling the ocean a touch but relatively smooth for the most part.  Surf to be had if you know where to look.  Consult crystals for further guidance.  Roll out the awning, SaltyStyle, and make it a beach day of it.

CHANNEL:  A slight shift in swell direction but still delivering the goods in the Channel.  Rollers that form and fold are the offerings of the day.  On the deeper bar and over towards Seadrift are peaks to split going left and right.  Try double down and make a run and both waves as they bend along in the deeper water.  Size runs waist high and there are nooks and crannies offering up smoothness this morning.  Off the inner Groin bar are short lefts heading towards a divining destiny with the sunken concrete wall.  Otherwise the inside rights hold up and there are long Lama-style rides that run into and along the Channel walls.  Choose wisely or sample both as the opportunities are plenty and the party has just started.  Getting a bit wonky and whompy with the peaking high tide.  Outgoing shows a steep drop and promises to reformulate the shape.

PATCH:  Showing no love and less wave activity today.  Peaks are marginal and encumbered with high tide fullness.  Those that break have maximum potential of thigh high and access is an adventure of wall and rock climbs to reach a suitable destination.  Rocks do remain covered with the high tide but water levels are not optimal for ultimate glides this morning.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"Opportunities are like sunrises. If you wait too long, you miss them." - Wiiliam Arthur Ward

Triumphant return of sun, salt and swell starts the morning.  Burgeoning peaks appearing as mid-grade NW swell builds throughout the day.  All signs are GO for a positive beach and surf day on tap.  Winds are slack by all flag indications and ocean surface is smooth and inviting.  Temp jostling in at 47F but expect mid to upper 60s later today.  High tide just peaked and still delivering rideable waves.  Outgoing shapes things up before the afternoon bottom out.  Catch a wave and be sitting on top of the world.

CHANNEL:  Plenty of N in the new swell and rolling through the Channel bar with lefts and rights to ride and rip.  A bit full of water on the peak high tide but still offering up rollers with enough juice to move logs, eggs and fish shoreward.  Size runs up to chest high and long rides are obtainable for the skillful.  Groin bar still has some rights pushing into Mali-Bo but those should shut down with the tide change.  Plenty to choose from and enough to share.

PATCH:  Soft peaks and popping off at waist high.  A bit full with the high tide but working wonderfully for the single-fin cult.  Sunny and smooth with nothing but crystal clear skies and glassy ocean to enjoy.  Inside Snags section has jittery options as well with water coverage of the rocks below.

Inspirational Crystal Quote Of The Day:
"Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it." - Confucius

Sunny skies, crystal clear with massive visionary depth.  Cool at 48F and should warm nicely.  Recent NW swell easing back but still delivering the goods for watery pursuits.  Winds from the E puffing offshore in certain spots and sporting kaleidoscopic spray off the wave backs. High tide keeping it soft and mellow but very rideable in a zesty way.  Suit up and demonstrate wave riding tenacity con sabor.

CHANNEL:  High tide dropping out but swell direction hits it just right every so often.  Big wide open rollers that are chest high have been occupied and inhabited.  Enough juice to gets eggs and Simmons rolling and the HP longboard will work majestically.  Outgoing tide should improve the shape but worth a good look and likely a dip.

PATCH:  Full of tide and a modertate degree of surfers as well.  Peaky rights breaking off a little slide piece of heaven that rears up to waist high in altitude.  Glassy, sassy and smooth conditions this morning and the logger crew is out and getting the goods.  A fine day to ride, slide, glide and abide.
