Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"'Crazy' is a term of art; 'Insane' is a term of law. Remember that, and you will save yourself a lot of trouble." - Hunter S. Thompson

There is reason for a rejoicing as we are thankful for bright, sunny skies, and only light breezes at this early hour. One's only possible complaint could be the already difficult parking situation, as seemingly every weekend warrior has made the transition into Monday morning quarterback. Bits of towel, fleece, and neoprene fly furiously over sand-covered concrete, as bodies scramble for the breakers. Many are called, few are chosen, and the wise know where and when.

CHANNEL:  A sweet and brilliant reflection off sloping and curling waters brings a smile to the face of many, as the sand bar works it's own voodoo currently. A small platoon on many variety of water craft have taken note, and are seeking slides and rides. Though these slides are short in length, the speeds being attained are unusual for a summer morn, as height and grade of these shapes hurtles one forward with some ferocity. Take heed.

PATCH:  The usual mix of log and paddle, as the crowd already begins to thicken. Solid rights are being enjoyed, though these seem to lack some push as we approach the high water marks. Know your spot in the seeming chaos, and be in it when the lightning strikes.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"You’ve always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself." - Glinda, Wizard of Oz

A layer of fog refuses to burn off this morning as it decides to take some extra time to sleep in. Feeling a bit chilly in this wet air at a temp of 59F. We see plenty of opportunity for sun later in the day but no promises will be made. Fun rides in the Channel and in the Patch as swells combo and peak. Crowds blossom as the day rolls forward. Let's where this day takes us as positivity is our guide.

CHANNEL:  Sweet mother Earth has given us a wave. Nothing particularly special except for the rideable mass itself. Rolling in at knee high they look almost glossy. Grey skies blend with the water but these are not too hard to see.

PATCH:  No rocks have shown yet this morning so take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Thigh high glass looking like lots of fun. A group of SUPs have just about taken over but there is still some room left if you hurry.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever." - Jacques Cousteau

Sweet wheel of death has us holding our collective breaths in anticipation of glory and greatness.  Also impending swells has many in its grip of froth and frenzy.  Semi-magnetic components attracting and repelling as competition for supremacy reaches a fevered pitch.   Sunshine reveals through the clouds and temp holds form at 60F.  Winds show whispers yet are currently tamped down and causing no external texture to distract from one's focus.  Take it or leave it, the choice is your and we hold no grudge.  Reveal your true self and let all others know where you stand.

CHANNEL:  Orbital rotations and spinning gyrations as combo swells begin to form and fill crevices.  Longitudinal lefts for loggers of all varieties and shape is clear of blemish if size leaves much to be desired.  Seadrift has rights which reveal themselves upon investigation and exploration.  Tidal swings are no limiting factor as levels remain stable and consistent.  A bounty of oceanic goodness from which to pick but some fruit is a bit past its prime.

PATCH:  Monolithic figures stand tall on the outside and paddle furiously to engage upon feathery rights.  Those whose lay prone and pop up have determined the inside portions suit their needs and have extended riding capacity once up to warp speed.  The smoothness is breathtaking and the flow is to be admired.  No rocks to distract or cause detrimental harm unless you are of the unlucky variety.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes." - Marcel Proust

As Bo-beautiful a day as they come.  Magic in the air and full of sunshine and good tidings as well.  Calm and composed atmosphere with mercury at 57F currently with greater aspirations.  A range of long-term possibilities arise as new swells get set to find their way to our coastal environ.  Currently on the small-ish side of things with glistening spinners in the knee high variety.  Too nice a day to pass up and many are making their way west to sample oceanic delights.  Temper expectations but always leave fulfilled inside.

CHANNEL:  Bert & Ernie holding it down Sesame Street style with paddles wielded at full mast.  A tortured tale of miniature surf conditions not dampening spirits as the sunshine beams down and turns every wave into a golden ticket.  Mid tides and a hopeful touch of new NW swell keeping spirits buoyed for improving conditions.  It can be ridden and will by many.

PATCH:  Flowing robes and grace exemplified as the morning sun lights up the Patch to reveal glistening glimmers of hope and desperation.  An unfettered duo approach with caution as the empty lineup speaks volumes in silence.  A periodic pulse (of things to come?) awakens the stoke and helps to fuel a day too pretty to miss. Only goodness will arise if you take the chance on riding waves.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"The lunatic, the lover, and the poet, are of imagination all compact." - William Shakespeare

As again we delve into the unknown and are greeted by coastal overcast / mist and magic.  Tempered with humidity and tolerable at 60F we wish for the sun and wonder if our dreams will become realized.  Traces and tracts of lingering S swell blend with an underwhelming NW windswell to create what appears to be rideable waves for the stalwart surfer.  Though winds are slack at the moment that will not hold true as the day grows long.  Tides are not a limiting factor today but true ocean joy knows few boundaries.

CHANNEL:  A healing touch from a small wave that lurches forwards and spins a tale today.  With tides mid the confluence of factors is gracing the Channel region with a little left that has a pod of surfers swarming and smiling.  A far cry from EPIC yet worth the effort to get a briny bath.

PATCH:  An empty lineup.  A white canvas upon which to paint your personal picture.  A small right of lesser consequences goes un-ridden and unrealized.  Take the plunge and pursue your prophesies.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Everybody needs his memories. They keep the wolf of insignificance at the door." - Saul Bellow

We find the clouds low, the mist dancing, and humidity weighing heavily as we find yet another in the seemingly endless parade of new days and stow-aways here in the BO. Though the temps will rise, as will the breezes, and they will be in play and ruled fair by moody line judges. Though a small crowd gazes towards the sea with a desperate longing, these glances reveal a bitter emptiness, and little hope.

CHANNEL:  Such utter lack of movement, it strikes one as foolhardy to attempt to paint the mental snapshot. And I knew nothing looking into the heart of light, the silence.

PATCH:  Paddles in hand, two defiant centurions bob and weave through the early hours. They float on calm surfaces, as if a river. The have sought refuge on the outer rims of our beloved patch, but she can be a cruel mistress, and it appears today she gives only the silent treatment. As one should be aware of by now, watch for more water to offer something resembling shapes, but be reasonable and humble in what you seek.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Changes and progress very rarely are gifts from above. They come out of the struggles from below." -Noam Chomsky

We find an uncommon stillness and a damp 58 degrees as we rise and greet the day in someone's version of paradise. The theme of "stillness" will be the sole operational paradigm on this day, and should be noted, with extreme prejudice. Current conditions leave a slider's soul a bleak and fading gray. One yearns for better days only just passed.

CHANNEL:  What slight shape is observed at this early hour is only being enjoyed by a lone sea lion and a pair of brazen gulls. Though the possibility of a combination a gusty wind and steep sand bar providing some comfort exists, it seems improbable to the watcher's eye.

PATCH:  A quiet light reflects and dances hither and yon, as we search frantically for shape and shadow. The echoes of the abyss cross abandoned parking spaces and a distinct lack of activity. Strong tea and the collected works of Chesterton would be wise pursuits, unless your own constitution requires stronger drink and a less refined literature.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Do unto others as they wish, but with imagination." - Marcel Duchamp

An unlikely 64 degrees as we are greeted by clear and brilliant skies. It appears that something resembling summer is still upon us. A mild wind-swell keeps the determined and steadfast if not satisfied, than something in the neighborhood thereof. Today seems, on the surface, to be one that will rely on a creative eye, and tempered and realistic expectation level. If these things are included in your spiritual knapsack, the stoke you may find.

CHANNEL:  A solitary warrior seeks a knee-high left that is slowly peeling it's way towards the sandy shoreline. Potential lives in the area, but may be on vacation until more volume occurs in the later hours. It would be wise to also place a mental alarm to check directly out front as time passes, though this may become home to many a soul by mid-morning.

PATCH:  The usual suspects have taken the literal and metaphoric plunge, as a far outside shape is observed, assessed, and ridden with a smile. These shapes are far from perfection, but those taking part seem not to notice. As we pass the morning low, our fair patch may offer what you seek, though it will be a day more for the soul than the body.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Show respect to all people, but grovel to none." - Tecumseh

A buzz of excitement and watery interest as swells ease back and take a day off.  The most determined can find slides and those returning from inland excursions froth at the opportunities.  Balmy morning with humid temps of 62F and full sunshine to keep it real.  We bottom out tide wise and things can only improve and go UP from here.  Desire overwhelms us today and a positive spin can be put to almost any situation one encounters.  Keep your face turned up to the sun and a smile upon it as well.

CHANNEL:  A micro-peeler observed.  Slideable yet lacking momentum, ferocity and water.  A reason to pause and contemplate what once was or could be.  Diminishing returns beat no returns and incoming tidal component mixing with NW leftovers are a recipe for something worth investigation during the later part of the day.  For now - pursuits in other areas may prove more beneficial.

PATCH:  A paddle wielding dynamic duo has the Patch occupied and on lockdown.  Less than small wave rollers making rare and random appearances as if a mirage for thirsty desperadoes.  Scrape up some courage and join the fray.  Take part in the madness and mayhem if you dare to explore your innermost dark side.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"You don't need a silver fork to eat good food" - Paul Prudhomme

If you're interested in some chicken noodle soup with just broth and very little broth at that then today is your day - a lukewarm temperature of 63*F is just cool enough to leave you craving saltines.  That salty ocean water is lapping the bottom of the bowl, giving way to the pit. With a SW breeze, and a dull brown seeping through the water today is a great day to sit and think about what you want to eat today - some nice black olive pits ? If so meander on over to the patch. However if you're more in the mood for some soggy, chewy taco shells then the channel is for you. With a universal feeling of "I want more" us humans cannot quench our endless desires.

CHANNEL:  Those whom reside hear snack on absolutely nothing. As their stomachs rumble their groins wallow in sadness over the deep pain it feels from the ocean tide breaking up with him once again.

PATCH:  If you're part of the duo out in the boonies of this rock tundra, my prayers are with you. Only scavengers and decay can be found here - not even vegetarians will venture out here for the growth is scarce.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"We are buried beneath the weight of information, which is being confused with knowledge; quantity is being confused with abundance, and wealth with happiness." - Tom Waits

Yet another in a seemingly endless sequence of fog and mist-shrouded mornings, as the mercury insists it's 60 degrees, but a persistent chill screams otherwise. The zephyrs are blowing in inconsistent manners and directions, and will be a factor this day. Current water levels leave much to be desired, as the real estate on display largely consists of sand, rock, and water fowl.

CHANNEL:  An eerie silence. Exposed sandbar. No lyrics. No movement. Just nothing.

PATCH:  A trio of black-clad figures dot the horizon, and are seemingly acting merely as buoys as of now, as shapes and sets are as if only memory. There are chances, however slim, that as rising water levels approach, the shadows you seek may ride upon their backs, but that occurrence maintains a plausible deniability as this hour. Touching from a distance, further all the time.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading." -Lao Tzu

I woke up this morning with a odd feeling. Not that I was worried but rather disturbed. Something was on my mind I just couldn't shake. I was far from concerned about my fortified zombie shelter, and my stockpiled Twinkies have not expired yet. This feeling was deep within me. I could hear the wind outside. I could feel the not so chilly but foggy 59*. I regret to inform you that our wave-ular frequency is currently not suitable for the weekend warrior. (Not only due to it being a weekday.)

CHANNEL:  This artist has laid his paint on thick and heavy with textured water from the incoming tide and a breezy wind from the same direction. If you are marketing a new organic tofu chicken noodle soup. I will pay for your gas and adorn you with gifts. Surf is not what you want to hear. SO with some tidal change... you might see lady luck out there.

PATCH: Nails for breakfast. Why? Rocks for breakfast. Nutritious!

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"One of the delights known to age, and beyond the grasp of youth, is that of Not Going." - Anthony Burgess

Shadows cast and hours pass as the mist and fog we know so well returns things to their natural state in the BO. An air of confusion blows one's hair back as the winds play chess with the hopes for slides and stoke. Though parking is ample at this early hour, one should question why this is so. Water levels and magic bevels may conspire with the zephyrs to create shapes and placate bipeds, that mystery, however, is beyond our ken currently.

CHANNEL:  Hours and days of sand surround the marker we use so often as navigator and traffic cop. Nary a fishing line dances and weaves on the miniscule shapes as of now. There seems  to be a deep desire to shout and dance, but for now we kill the hours and pray for rain.

PATCH: A lone and solitary sentinel admits defeat and climbs from the water's chill. His shadow casts long, as he trudges over wet sand with paddle and board. His remarks to the breezes and filled with cynicism and sarcasm, as that is the tone of these morning hours. As always, our crabby coast line is worthy of observation, but conditions will need marked improvement to offer what so many seek.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Quotations are useful in times of ignorance or obscurantist beliefs." - Guy Debord

A rare, endless, turning sun shines down upon us this day, as only wisps of fog hover above the lagoon. The mercury is three feet high and rising, and something resembling summer is on tap. Though chakras align, clearly the planets and lunar tug do not on this morn, as the abundance of parking can attest. Tis' a sad state of affairs when the vampires and barnacles are absent, and this alone should convey all the relevant information. Though the later hours show promise, the zephyrs may work against even the best laid plans.

CHANNEL:  Though a tragic beauty reveals itself as the morning rays reflect off a diamond-shaped sign, the shadows cast fall only on the slightest of forms. Cast nets and dashed dreams are the only occupants as of now. Every corner, abandoned too soon.

PATCH: A dynamic, determined, and petulant duo brave the churning waters in silence and stoic calm. Through periods that hang like hours, a shape makes itself known, only to hide amongst the exposed rocks mere moments later. As one has become accustomed, the rage of incoming waters should bring a hint of possibility, but know that what you seek resides more in you than in the sea.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"To hell with reality! I want to die in music, not in reason or in prose!" - Louis-Ferdinand Celine

We marvel at an already warming 60 degrees as we greet another fine morn in the village. The mind seeks to clear itself as the skies have already done. Mild breezes and seasonal sneezes as we attempt harvests from the ocean's bounty. Parking spots fill with reckless abandon, as neoprene is stretched over creaking joints and corners. Though the conditions that brought so many joy over the past 96 hours have passed, there remains reason for smiles, with expectations that attain a level of reason. Don't walk away in silence.

CHANNEL:  It is with a deep sadness that we encounter immediate nostalgia for moments just passed as we gaze unto the marker. Where only hours ago, even shortboards flourished, now an uncanny stillness reveals itself. Do not set your sights here, unless you merely wish to escape the crowds and carry a yogi's patience.

PATCH: Those with paddle in hand seem to be the first line of defense as the only breakers show a lengthy distance from the craggy coastline. Though they can only be described as mellow, a determined and dirty dozen are shown gaining yardage and gaining ground. As is always the case, do not neglect the tidal timing and sliding rhyming, as these will unlock all doors today. Plan on the mid-day meal being had elsewhere, but find solace in other hours.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Do not dwell on the past, do not dream of the future, focus on the present moment." - Buddha

63*f this morning with vibrations in liquid and in blood. Join us as we challenge the unknown without knowing even what we thought we knew. Don't re-read that last sentence, it doesn't matter anymore.
Do not be afraid, the surf is not there to hurt you. However the 15 plus people in the water may have devious designs.. Cover your head as fiberglass fins have a tendency to leave scars. Lots of sections if you're  speedy / lots of laughs if your slow.

CHANNEL:  Splitting peaks and a 100% chance of getting wet. So whats with the attitude? I will not tolerate long faces unless you are a horse. Join the crowd if you care. Comb your hair. Surf if you are a surfer.
(note: no horses allowed in shop / corgi friendly)

PATCH: Tidal change should not be total exposer for the potatoes but may make a few show their rocky heads. A few folks out there looking for something but I can tell... they cant see it. But its there. Calling the lil ones thigh-ish. Get your toes up there.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Walking with a friend in the dark is better than being alone in thee light." - Helen Keller

58*f right now but feeling as warm and happy as ever that I made it to work alive. Yes, life and death are out of our hands but my beat 1971 ford is not necessarily making me feel at ease, as it wants to be a convertible but has not fully converted yet. IF you want to surf, there is surf. If you want to buy me some new tires, you can do that as well.
Peaceful prophesies this morning, with an impenetrable calm, a handful of people out drinking it in, and a little line or two on the horizon.

CHANNEL:  From deep with in the underbelly of the lagoon comes a thing so slimy, so salty, so green. The kale monster. Pay your respects, as the kale monster refuses life long health or passage to the waist high lil' rippers to anyone caught making a fool of them self.

PATCH:  Looking even better than my bell bottom corduroys are the lines you can draw and the trimming you can taste out there today. Tidal influence is always a factor... posted below only for you. Get it if you think you are worthy. Respect all.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Leap, and the net will appear." - John Burroughs

Freaky and frisky as real rain falls, winds remain light and SW swell peaks and pumps.  Combo this with fading NW swell and the town buzzes with frenzied surfers jonesing to hit the water on all manner of aquatic craft.  Consistent and crafted surf is upon us and tides have favorable and positive dimensions throughout the day.  Parking is already nil and lineups grow thick with humanity.  Keep your egos checked and your thoughts pure as you relish in the goodness that has descended upon us today.

CHANNEL:  Sizzling slides as sandbars are primed and charged for greatness.  Tenacious lefts that loop and bend towards a tubular finish.  Rights that roam and range into deeper waters before fading off.  Inside sections that can be connected and compartmentalized into rejuvenated waves.  Enough for all and something for everyone here today.  Size is up and approaching shoulder high or dare I say almost head range? The gravitational pull is luring many this direction and for good reason as most all boards will work well today.

PATCH:  Outside Patch is where the daring and determined flock.  Worth the wait for SW swell pulses which can pour out peaks up to chest high or better.  Rearing up then pulling back but allowing for smooth drops and long rights departing from Neptune's Cave.  Midway and inside domains are chock full of water and show signs of rollicking rollers which are diminished in size yet have more form and delicious sweep.   Fear not the rocks today as they shall remain covered and at rest.  Let it all hang out and push past your fears and limits - if you dare.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Chaos is inherent in all compounded things. Strive on with diligence." - Buddha

Perma-drizzle as we kick off a balmy day in the hamlet by the sea.  Humid and moist with 62F on the radar.  Attempts at sun and warmth will take a determined effort and remain a mystery to unravel.  A calm and glassy ocean invites and is awaken with the promise of energy from far off destinations.  Composite swells align and complement bringing out slides for all and those with true hearts.

CHANNEL:  An organized and efficient bump in the water spinning glassy cylinders off into the mist.  Smooth lefts off reformulated Channel bars have log riders seeking sleek slides that reveal all the shape a foggy morning can deliver.  Past peak high tide has Mali-Bo on hold but the Groin bar churns while the Channel burns.  Seadrift efforts will not go un-rewarded as rights with purpose have been discovered and unveiled.  A pod of 6 are feeling fine here with smiles for miles.

PATCH:  Deep destinations will yield the bigger waves as well outside shows signs of a true S swell in the water.  Better waves may actually reside inside as with a full tide and all rocks covered the rollers can strut and slink along the craggy bottom.  Strike now while the ocean is full as receding waters will take with it the shape and strength we all so desire.  Bring your big board and high hopes - you will reveal you true self today.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Perhaps all human interaction is about wanting and getting." - David Mitchell

We begin this day like so many others in the village, with a fine mist that feels like a baptism and a heavy grey fog. A muggy 61 degrees, with intentions of rising only slightly. The zephyrs are calm currently, but look to have other plans for the afternoon. The time for enlightenment will rely on the volume and power of the tides, so take heed brothers and sisters, and know that the need is immediate and distant, all at once.

CHANNEL: A morning where Malibu dreams are seemingly confused with Mali-Bo realities. A first glance upon the seas may fill one's soul with all sorts of possibilities, until the shapes upon the sea reveal their true nature, which is all over but the shouting, and all over now, baby blue. Selling to the bare walls, all items on closeout. Though a noble group of swashbucklers are gaining slides, the duration hardly seems worth the effort. Though worth close study, do not hang your hopes here, friends.

PATCH: The souls with eyes on the Patch will need to bring strong shoulders and a strong constitution this fine morn, as the shadows you seek are on a far horizon. Well past the usual areas of stoke, slides of some consequence are being had. Waist-plus, though inconsistent, the trained and watchful eye is digging for gold, and finding nuggets worth bringing on home. The time is now, or much later, as the waters are already beginning to recede even at this early hour.
