Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"High expectations are the key to everything." - Sam Walton

Hazy lazy morning as red streaked skies fill our vision.  Ojo rojo becoming the norm as blazes continue and the horizon shows little promise.  I've got a mouth full of waffles and a mind full of miscellaneous thoughts.  All is ready to spew forth and enlighten those that wish to know more.  Temps will soar high while surf will remain low.  Humble happenings here as minor swells blend and fade leaving all longing for more please.  Modest movement of the ocean is cause for pause and reasoned decisions.  Another morning optimally suited for walking beach expanses as low tide sucks dry and holds for a beat.

CHANNEL:  Levitational aspects as many walk on water to explore uncharted destinations once thought unreachable.  All shallow all the time without a surfer to break the silence though dogs do bark an unseen foes.   Cool now but will warm rapidly and fill with many looking for oceanic answers to life's biggest problems.  There is help and hope out there - if you know where to look.

PATCH:  Nothing of note save for a solitary paddler making a long journey to the far reef and beyond.  The curtain has been pulled back with rocks and kelp forming the playing field of the early.  Less water and evanescent swell holds us in a paralyzing grip.  The aqua is warm and inviting with suits nearly optional.  Discover a new way to enjoy the beach and pass the stoke along to those you interact with.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Courage is the ladder on which all the other virtues mount." - Clare Boothe Luce

Cheery morning for the dissolute and unaffected.  Skies are clearing and promises are being made with a high probability of actuality.   Barren seascape tells the early tale and parking is wide open to all comers.  Mainly NW windswell in play with a background S that may just be too steep to show and throw.  Try Wait is our mantra today as time and tide will lend an improving hand in the final outcome.  A fine beach day and plenty of sand available for digging pursuits.  Lather up and jump in but mind the depths as early water levels remain at none.

CHANNEL: A lone surfer wades into the shallows with desires that cannot be quenched.  The smell of rainbows fills the air and unicorn dust is graciously sprinkled on all surfaces.  Solitary pursuits are best un-witnessed so I shield my eyes so as to not have them burned out.   Formless waves with little destination are the best one can accomplish at this hour.  If you know from hunger then this can be a palatable pastime. Otherwise, time now is best spent with strong tea and soft music.

PATCH:  A glistening expanse best suited for viewing and exploring.  Crevasses hold treasures and secrets and they can all be yours today.  Communicate with nudibranch and crustacean and learn the language of love.  Abandon hope and ship but resolve to find positivity in all other aspects of your day.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Don't fight forces, use them." - R. Buckminster Fuller

A clear blue upper atmosphere and sunshine greet us this fine morning.  Blazing with opportunity and vibes off the charts.  A willowy 62F now with predictions near 80.  The groundwork has been laid and the foundation set for new SW swell migrating up the coast. The best laid plans can be utilized unless sub-optimal water levels foil.  Consult tea leaves and tide charts as well to determine best ocean access periods and fear not as time heals all.  Now is the waiting game while those that froth make futile attempts and those with patience plot and plan.  Get in where you fit in and make sure to always maximize your stoke.

CHANNEL: Featureless folding waves and a fully exposed beach dominate the early morning.  Less than no water making a worthy comeback but will require more hours than most can justify.  Now you must sit and wait and wait and sit.  Utter desperation is not in our vocabulary.  We ain't got no high here today.

PATCH:  More rocks than water.  More conjecture than confluence.  More SUPs than logs.  Translation = a flat and lake-like surface suitable for swimming and paddling.  Those that stand tall yet sometimes fall are holding court at the outside meeting rock where worthy conversations take place.  Low activity levels displayed and no waves being ridden currently.  Time and tide will tell a later tale.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Amazement awaits us at every corner." - James Broughton

Foundational fog and coastal overcast as the morning norm once again.  No sunlight breaking through and expectations run low.  Temp balmy at 64F and ripe with humidity.  A prescient calm binds the town and winds remain non-existent.  An oily surface upon which to bob and weave / hope and dream / as the tide fills in to adequate levels.  Tiny energy blobs are your only salvation today as rumbles and ripples are few in the making.

CHANNEL: Three amigos like our crystals above sharing stoke and joy on life in general.  A pushing tide buoys expectations though reality plays a significant role in lack of slides.  Though a left will appear and likely caused by only NW windswell, its volume triangulation remains low on all scales.  There is little to be had here and even less for those that don't make the effort.

PATCH:  A rocky outcropping gives solace and value to the landscape.  Devoid of water and surfers as well it is currently owned by tidal creatures and those soaring above in search of squishy morsels.  A whisper of SW swell is in the air though circumstances prevent it from showing.  A hike is in order, a surf not so much.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"You only live twice: once when you are born, and once when you look death in the face." - Ian Fleming

A beaming sun struggles to break through a shroud of wisp and smoke as morning descends like the locust upon the village. There is hope that the rays will dispense the fog, and temps will climb. As such, expect a crush of beach combers as the day lengthens. As for those determined to slide, spirits remain forever hopeful, though in the face of a sobering reality. As an overall lack of power has left conditions sluggish, as if a wet sponge.

CHANNEL: A rapidly growing number of souls head in this direction, as it is the only area of opportunity in this early hour, however limited these may be. A microscopic left is being chased, though hardly caught currently. It seems to be a battle that paddle-clutching warriors are winning ,if only by sheer number of troops. As is so often the case, the key to your ride and slides could all be the tides...

PATCH:  A stillness beckons. A resounding peace falls upon the land. A hungry gull dives towards limited motion in desperate search of the morning meal.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"One must imagine that Sisyphus is happy." - Albert Camus

A fine mist hangs heavy as we wonder why we got out of bed. No shirt, no shoes, 99 problems. Have you paid your dues Jack? Yes sir, the check is in the mail. A fogginess that is palpable, both physical and spiritual. Small groupings of the bound and determined mine nuggets from the depths, but true gold is few and far between. Load the car and write the note...

CHANNEL: Location, location, location. All efforts at this early hour are focused here, and small gems are being extracted, as the sand bar offers moments of magic to the wise and enlightened. Peeling lefts show promise, however fleeting. It exists, then is forgotten.

PATCH: When you tried to break my spirit, it won't work, because there's nothing left to break...

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"A concept is a brick. It can be used to build a courthouse of reason, or it can be thrown through a window." - Gilles Deleuze

A swirling mix of fog, mist, and a tremendous sun makes early morning vibes uncertain at best in the BO. Parking is thin, but not unattainable, as barnacles and vampires seek satisfaction from the high seas. The zephyrs do not blow with the previous day's ferocity, but consult the charts and tea leaves for the afternoon hours. Evidence mounts that reality is all our construct, so be your own choice today.

CHANNEL: There is reason for a measured rejoicing as Mali-Bo rights have clocked in and are on the job, though in it's usual inconsistent manner. Those brave souls seeking stoke may sit for moments that seem like weeks in between shapes of note, but when they arrive a flurry of activity rides it's wake. Shadows seen at higher peaks than one is accustomed to are also in the mix, but highly sought. Be mindful of your neighbor, as it is likely they shall not watch for you.

PATCH: Forlorn, forgotten, and reading Keats by the peat fire.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:

"Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible." - Frank Zappa

A mysterious mix of mist, fog, and a persistent sunshine as we find yet another day in a fool's paradise. The readings indicate a gaudy mix of sun, sand, and gathering crowds already at this early hour. A lack of consequence and measure is preventing no pilgrim from seeking the stoke as parking is already a distant memory, and solitary line-ups a delusion. One hopes that all undertakings on a day such as this are steeped in realistic expectations, but one knows better. Let not silly matters such as reality interfere with your quest...

CHANNEL:  The crowds do gather as the sun shone through masses of molded plastic. Paddles fly fast and furious as those who lay prone bob and weave and attempt to avoid injury. An outside left is where all attention turns, although a notion of futility nags at one's soul. They push and push against a rational notion, so why not become part of the problem?

PATCH:  Though we find a thinner mass as of now, be forewarned that planks of tremendous volume and determined paddles are the mark and measure. A semi-consistent right winks at you across the crowded room, and you imagine a thousand conversations, none of which you will have, as a dozen other suitors move in for the kill. Watch your step, watch your back, and wade on in. I guess I should have known by the way you parked your car sideways, it wouldn't last...

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. " - Jiddu Krishnamurti

A feral mist from above disguises the swarming night creatures as aquatic endeavors start in earnest.  The dark is your friend along with un-invited guests with which to commiserate and celebrate.  Hushed whispers and squeaky rubber signify the beginning for those cracking codes.  Trembling hands and bare feet navigate the roads and rocks as some look to greet the day already submerged.  Xray vision is not required just a keen sense of time and space.  The vault lays open and a modest treasure spills forth.  Savor the moments and commit them to memory or suffer the pain of forgotten favors. Let random acts of randomness be your guide.  Temp is 62F in case you cared.

CHANNEL:  Primitive plateaus with vast expanses of oceanic views.  Unfettered open spaces upon which little activity distracts one's attention.  The devil is in the details and a listless NW windswell upon which to ply your trade.  Incoming tide doing little to stimulate this economy yet it is fully vacant and available for short term leasing.  A lonely contingent makes their forlorn journey while knee high lefts go un-ridden.

PATCH:  Peaks forming with positive stoke ratios and thin crowds to keep the flow revolving.  A kind, kelpy karess kan be felt with regularity.  A tropical vibration from warm waters has suits pulled and skin exposed.  SE pulses are forming on a frequency level beyond our meager expectations.  Trips to the tip and back for those laying claim to the reckless rollers.  Plus tide keeping rocks at rest and a steady migration of those seeking to join the reindeer fun already in progress.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"The season of failure is the best time for sowing the seeds of success. " - Paramahansa Yogananda

Moderate SW winds and slinky seal pups are the morning greeting committee at dawn.  Even the incoming tide push can't resolve the angst present on those trotting beach-ward with sleds poised for slides.  The Horchata King has left in disgust while the coconut wireless chimes in regarding a steep gradient S swell that is forming.  A lay day at the moment as ocean cooperation is at a minimum.  Coastal overcast prevails and sunshine will be an afternoon guest.  Temp already balmy at 64F.  Less wind will perk spirits and interest in watery activities but the tempests will blow of their own volition.

CHANNEL:  While visions of sugar plums may dance in some heads our eyes see a mystical morass spearheaded by a lone desperado.  A solitary session is underway and we shall not spoil the moment with overt reporting.

PATCH:  Ahh the whitewater flows and forms a churning bath of oceanic bliss.  Momentarily interrupted by a dynamic duo riding prone for lack of better skill sets.  Bobbing boards and unilateral directional assaults leave little room for flow or grace.  Water levels show positive incarnations and a touch of S in the water may grace this domain with what we all seek in reality.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. " - Coco Chanel

A prescient fog envelops and invades bringing with it a true reckoning of the coming day.   Most morning creatures gaze wistfully at the open expanses and venture opinions and conjecture about the known and unknown.  Humidity keeps temps at 60F and though the sun may burn its way through to warm the earth Mother Ocean has other plans for those seeking slides.  The joy is tempered and waning this morning though the future looks bright.

CHANNEL:  A hopeful clan.  A tight knit crew seek rides of merit and consequence but finds the offerings lackluster.  Though triumphantly knee high and pushing forth the receding tide will make even these early morning waves seem much grander in hindsight.  The afternoon push may stir emotions in a positive direction as a NW windswell may be in play.

PATCH:  A solitary figure ventures forth in seek of calm, quiet, serenity.  He has found his nirvana as the playing field remains unfetter by undulations of worth.   Wall jockeys contemplate the effort while others turn with heads down to seek another round of slumber and comfort elsewhere.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:

"The natural role of modern man is anxiety." - Norman Mailer

A fine light makes it's way through wisps and strands of fine fog as we gaze upon the village this morn. Beyond the light, the creatures crawl from slumber and seek refuge in the sea. No sanctuary is found in these early hours, despite the figures already clad in petro-chemical suits. Keep your eyes towards the horizon and your own black heart filled with hopeful yearnings. Tomorrow is yet another day....

CHANNEL: How many times before could you tell I didn't care? When you reached out in your sleep, and you knew I wasn't there.

PATCH:  Paddles firmly clutched, the defiant and delusional have made their way past protruding rocks to seek satisfaction from mother ocean. These pilgrims may see with different eyes, as more casual observations leave hopes dashed and tempers leveled. The later hours may offer solace and a shoulder on which to cry, but only the clock truly knows.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:

"All human wisdom is contained in these two words; wait and hope." - Alexandre Dumas

A bright sun has just begun to break through the mist and smoke as we find ourselves in that coastal town that they forgot to close down. Most of the necessary ingredients are in place for an epic summer dish, save the most critical; shapes of matter and import. The mercury will rise and all synapses will tell you it's a beautiful day, perhaps one best spent in other pursuits. If one is bound and determined, and follows the tides, times, and charts, with tempered measures of reality, one may find some modicum of slides, but remember, it's all over but the shouting...

CHANNEL: Trudging back over pebbles and sand, and a strange dust lands on your hands...

PATCH: Pretty Vacant. The Blank Generation. Ghost Rider. Current water levels fill the eyes with tears and the soul with a longing. As the afternoon nears and shadows grow from darkened corners, great logs may emerge to make something from mere scraps, but that is a gift only the future may deliver.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Reality continues to ruin my life." - Bill Watterson

Low lying clouds mix with a heavy dampness and bounce off an unusual 65 degrees at this hour. As is always the case, intrepid mariners begin each new day with hope of slides, rides, and satisfaction, however limited. Familiar faces running worn out races look towards eerily calm waters with what can only be named a brutal denial of the facts, as the phrases "lake" or "moat" are what the sea's activities call to mind. Let not your heart be filled with despair, as tidal pushes bring the promise of something with shape and shadow, but know that these measures hold your future today.

CHANNEL: The potential you'll be, that you'll never see, the promises you'll only make....

PATCH:  The meeting rock shines and rises as though the Dome of the Rock in current water levels. A duo determined seeks any motion at all. Though one admires the patience and a certain stillness of the mind that a morning such as this can bring, the question of irrationality screams into the thoughts of all contemplating the ocean's bounty.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."
- Albert Einstein

Things starting off slowly today as the swell is fading and unseen as are visions of great surf. Grey skies and mist join us and keep us chilly company. Although the thermometer tells us otherwise at 64F. We are hoping for a brighter day but it may never come.  Hopes and dreams keep us company on this grey and solemn Sunday.

CHANNEL:  Too much sand! Low tide had the channel exposed and the beach extended. Lots of room to move around on the beach but not as much in the water. Shallow patches may have you stuck. No surf here.

PATCH:  If you are willing to play a good game of rock dodging- this is the place for you. Low tide showing off its pointy friends who do not play well with others. A few gather a ways out in hopes for something worth standing on. Logs only. No sign of anything bigger than knee high. Wait until tide fills.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Thinking will not overcome fear but action will." - W. Clement Stone

Cross winds mix with cross dressers as we approach a crossroad in our minds and ease into the weekend.  Hopes and dreams guide us through the morass of emotions as we celebrate the wonders and bounty hoisted upon us while respecting those taken before their time.  Worlds collide as swells fade and all destinations are unknown.  Tides drain and visions soar to heights previously unknown and unreachable.  Detectable pulses can be felt but from what frequency is still to be determined.  Find your place in the universe and if directed to the beach - then so be it.

CHANNEL:  Soggy and salient seas with much more sand than water projecting through the haze.  A glimmer of hope as unpredicted lefts attack and reel off the shallow bar in a mind-surfing dream-scape.  Formidable tide swings will give open windows with narrow perches.  Worth keeping an open eye and always an open mind upon this locality for later slides.

PATCH:  Triangular inflections of exposed rock make tip toeing lightly the mark of a true waterman.  Remote fathomage yields possibilities of slides though quality remains of dubious measure.  Slight swell still in residence and gurgling up a few reminders of days past.  A loggable spot if you tread agilely and consult your tea leaves and tide books.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Trust has to be earned, and should come only after the passage of time." - Arthur Ashe

Blue Moon morning yielding to overcast skies and a dour dose of fog.  Swells continue to fade yet the approaching weekend has things turned back up to a fevered pitch.  A new cadre of wave sliders enlist cohorts as temptation abounds and the draw is unmistakable.  Temp settles in at 62F with sunshine a likely probable although not until the later hours.  The tidal pendulum has swung low and will need time to gain traction.  Seek deeper waters and deeper meaning as you contemplate your options today.

CHANNEL:  Seas made of sand and revealed islands of the same are on the bill this festive morning.  Beyond low tide has water at a premium and shallow breakers sizzle along un-ridden by those with hearts pumping blood.  A venture across the Channel may yield hidden gems if your exploration is on point.  For now it is Try Wait as the tide festers in the negative range.

PATCH:  Deeper waters unveil a largesse with magnetic pull.  With all rocks exposed shelter is being sought well outside in depths unfathomable.  There are pulses and popping peaks that translate to rights of realistic rides.  Though their length and breadth may be short the stoke level runs high.  Pushing tide promises to bring more water and more enjoyment as well.  Expand your horizons as you paddle out into the unknown.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth." - Buddha

A touch of SW winds combine with a dense fog as visions and memories fade to black.  The relentless flurry of days past is over and serenity now settles back in to the village.  Though a few still don neoprene and exhort the stoke - their numbers are severely limited.  Temp revolves at 61F with humidity festering in the background.  Minus low tides and fading swell is a limiting factor as water levels slowly make their way back up to optimal.  Past / Present / Future all mix today as new conquests can be made even on waves of lesser consequence.

CHANNEL:  A migrant left remains and though lacking in energy holds a shape that evokes wonder and yearning in ones' heart.  An open area full of possibilities as no one laying claim or throwing shakas today.  A growing tide will produce more form fitting conditions and the body count will soon rise as well.  Get in and on as you see fit.

PATCH:  Sleestaks lurk in pools of moss covered rocks.  Ready to deliver an aquatic dance step.  Well outside a wave still appears and then vanishes in the foggy soup of weather.  A weathered veteran / a figurative champion / takes heed of the conditions and suits up.  Follow his lead as he is wise beyond most reckonings and has surfed a few waves.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"If we do not find anything pleasant, at least we shall find something new." - William Styron

Black Metal skies mix with misty vibes on a morning where the smoke will definitely get in your eyes. Gone is the sunshine of yesterday, but the crowds and flurry of activity remains. Though the passage of the hours may send the fog on it's way, rest assured that the swirling mass of the line-up shall not. By now, any and all sliders have heard tales of epic proportions concerning recent aquatic pursuits, so your humble narrator's words carry little merit. Get here, get in, get stoked, rinse and repeat.

CHANNEL:  A consistent left has shown itself through the haze, and is currently home to more than a baker's dozen seekers. A crowded field that shows the range from log to egg to grom thrusters each making a charge. Though the deeper body count may be only to better visibility currently, make no mistake, rides and slides of consequence are being had. Won't you be my neighbor?

PATCH:  A moody and persistent fog limits one's assessments at this hour, but the literal and figurative log-jam on what remains of the sandy shore speaks volumes. Flashes appear as breakers close, and glimpses of sliders explode as if lightning. In a bottle. Or not. Your choice.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:

"Revolution is about the need to re-evolve political, economic, and social justice and power back into the hands of the people." - Bobby Seale

Abandon all hope of finding your stoke far from the maddening crowd this fine morn, as they have already arrived. The tide is high as souls seek their number one. To quoth the Nuge; it's a free-for-all. Sunny, eerily warm, and the sea is full of morning magic and motion. Parking has gone the Nessie route, you won't find any, merely reflection and shadow. You are already on your way, you just may not know it yet.

CHANNEL:  Despite the masses swirling throughout the waters, only two figures see with the mindful eye, and have chosen to take quality over quantity. As solid and steep Mali-Bo reckonings are taking time in showing themselves, when they do, those in attendance find lines for celebration. Though thin of sliders currently, it shall not remain so. Be mindful, and acknowledge that you are not alone amongst the breakers, nor in the universe.

PATCH:  There is much joy in Mudville, as no batter is striking out, despite the hordes taking the field. Paddle, arms, fins; all take slice through Pacific vectors. Too many shapes of consequence to name, list, or worry over. They are here. Where are you?
